I've read Cloud Cuckoo Land in the beginning of 2022 and I've been enchanted! Some parts are gruesome and heartbreaking but the story stayed with me throughout this year and it's one of my top faves ever! I really hope you enjoy it

I had some conflicting feelings about Cloud Cuckoo Land. It is so intensely complex there are seven different storylines and it has so many themes it was at times hard to stay interested. But on the other hand it made me feel a lot of things doesn’t always happen for me. One of the things was anxiety though so you might want to make sure you’re in a good headspace before picking it up.

I just unwrapped The World We Make, and I will be reading both this coming year as well. Hoping to also finish Malazan Book of the Fallen (Toll the Hounds, Dust of Dreams, The Crippled God- I am on the 8th book). I have Brandon Sanderson's 4 Stormlighy Archive books in queue (I previously read Warbreaker and liked it, but will probably reread it at some point as well.) On your recommendation I have The Farseer trilogy, too. Enjoy Best Served Cold- happy reading!

I am nearly caught up with the Shadowhunter Chronicles series, but I didn't quite finish it this year, so it's a priority for January (hopefully before the new one comes out). I also need to get back to reading the Valdemar Chronicles. I want to read Flowers by Night (takes place in Japan), and I also want to try and get back into studying Japanese, so I have some Japanese books I want to read. And there are a number of new releases I want to read in 2023, but I hope to just make a dent in my overall physical and Kindle TBR.

I actually just finished re-reading Cloud Cuckoo Land! I call it my "other favorite book" (All the Light We Cannot See is also my fave lol) and I just love his writing and attention to details and it's just incredible! I can't even form proper thoughts about it, I just love it so so much! I hope that you get to it soon and enjoy it!

I have to read my entire physical TBR by October of next year. 😱 Here is to hoping I can do that. I have at least a good 30-40 books to read.

I love Cloud Cuckoo Land! Make sure to also read his author note at the end where he shares his research and inspiration for that incredible story. That’s a book that will stay with me for years 💕💕 Also I have to mention Exit West. That is one of the oddest books I’ve read. I listened to an audio version on a road-trip. It’s a novel that is fascinating but also gets really weird and changes pace. can’t wait to see your reaction to it. It’s not bad, just different but it does contain some very beautiful moments that stand out.

I'm so interested to hear what you think of A Tale for the Time Being. I really enjoyed it until the end, I felt like it went a little sideways.

I have been enjoying your videos but never comment! I'm looking forward to your thoughts on all your upcoming reads. I am in a fantasy/ scifi book club so 11 (we don't do a book in Dec) books will be determined by those picks. However I am currently finishing up Last Argument of Kings by Joe Abercrombie so I will tentatively add Best Served Cold to my TBR as I love The First Law series. I am hoping to read Babel, Wanderers, The Master and Margarita, The Wolf at Twilight, Flock Without Birds, and Locklands as well as at least 4 poetry books TBD. I am a mood reader so I can't list too much in advance and nearly everything may change! I hope not everything! Happy New Year! 🙂📚📖

I am sad to say I was very disappointed by the second book in the drowning empire series, but I am hoping it will improve again in the third book, because the first book was very enjoyable. I hope you enjoy the second book though!

I read The City We Became last year with a friend as a mini book club, so I got us both signed copies of the sequel that we can read together again. A Tale for the Time Being was my favourite read of 2021 and it made me take out every Ruth Ozeki book my library had. I have been contemplating getting into Robin Hobb but I'm a bit intimidated by the sheer amount of it and the size of the books.

Cloud Cuckoo Land is one that i also really want to get to at some point. I don't know if it will be possible in the ext year, but it's on the list... somewhere.

No "The Three-Body Problem"? I got the feeling from one of your videos a few months back that you were planning to get to it soon? Hopefully not too soon, though... I'm hoping if you do a reading vlog of it at some point I will have already read it, and I'm so slow in getting through books, with a few ahead of it. I also expected to see Sanderson's The Lost Metal on this video. I guess everything can't be on the top priority list!

I'm going to be honest I did not like our missing hearts. I felt like the idea was beautiful but it executed it so.... dully? Like this amazing world to explore and were told so much- and then like that's it. I really felt the main chracter was very much just a mirror for this other strong character and it just amde it boring and confusing for someone to outshine the mc. I felt like the book had nothing happen at the end nothing was resolved. And finally author struggled to balance the past narrative. Trying to avoid spoilers.... but yeah not for me

I don't read Hobb she just draws out and draws out and you just don't get to anything. It's like traveling through a never ending desert and you keep see a mirage but when you get there....nothing and so she takes you on a journey that keeps ALMOST getting somewhere.....🙄
