It felt incomplete. We didn’t see most of the characters like Aaron and Lizzie. What about those two detectives from the previous season. It had plot holes

They dealt with the Irish to quickly, it was all to rushed.

For me this season was the worst and many things contributed for it. 1. Lauryns death wasnt really portrayed very well and the reaction from jaq wasn’t very genuine as she felt sad for a bit and then returned to her normal self only this time just wanting out on the business 2. Aarons story could have been developed a lot better as they talk of him once throughout season 3 mentioning he went to do marketing in leeds. In my opinion he could’ve been the regulator for steffans drug and gang life he was slowly falling into 3. Steffs gang life wasn’t portrayed well which is what i was excited for. To see a character so innocent and weak turning into a brooding individual avenging his brothers murder 4. Lithe and lizzie was swept under the rug. We hear that they legged it but nothing was really shown as to why she ran off with dushanes money and what she was doing with it 5. They could have done more with ruben and his son. Even though he went to prison 6. They could have developed mounir and ash’s death and what lead up to it 7. Even johnny was killed of too early 8. Finally like the season 2 ending they should have shown a scene of what the main characters are doing now and how they are living their lives. A send off like that would have made the show levels better 9. I do think that the cinematography has a whole lot improved and the fact that sully was killed by someone unknown. And also how dark this season was. I think the creators though that if they could kill off a lot of characters then that is what would tie up the loose ends Netflix basically false advertised this season as they promised no loose ends 😂😂😂

It would beeen way better to see the police investigation on Dushane and sully because of Jamie death and all the murder sprees.... coulda thickened the plot and tie all this together but instead they spend so much of the episodes with stef getting hiv test and some forced riot because of immigration LOOL

Facts 100% … The Irish story line should have been huge . They should have have bought Sully and Dushane to their knees which would have made the show more believable at same time im a big fan so thank you top boy for telling a story that needed to be told .

What blows my mind is that Dushane had heart problems (or signs of it) and in the final episode when he has the bag of money, he’s competing for the 1000m Olympics sprint. Like bro

Nah man you are right. Feels like they rushed it to a conclusion and didn’t bother to flesh out the story lines properly. To see the leads both go full monster and leave nothing to redeem of them was a poor pay off for all the character development.

Jacks plot. Pointless. Kieron dying of screen insulting. Dushane should of gone jail for the murder and all the bricks. Sully i felt got the only real ending for his whole story. The Irish was a complete waste of a plot, barry keoghan was wasted. He should of been a big bad for a 10 parter and replaced the all thebother pointless mobs. Over all Top Boy should of been legendary but instead its just a bit shit. I know people will say im wrong but this show doesnt hold up to any real crime dramas. Take the master class of The Wire, Top Boy is like 6th drama conpared to that show in terms of writing and delivery from the team behind the show. The actors on the other hand are top notch. Asher D and Kano were great the acting was brilliant cant fault that side of things. But F the poor writing.

The last season was shit what happened to the two detectives who were going after dushane and sully. They just turn up with moroccan heads in a box and theirs a new threat from nowhere it was so shit.

Bro literally I got the same feeling as you did. A show that is really iconic to the Londoners community, they did as dirty. Poor writing, so many holes in the plots, poor directing, everything is just so dead. I can’t believe Kano and Ashley let the directors run this poor directing. I can’t even call the last season top boy, more like bottom boy.

They wasted the Irish antagonist, killed him off too fast after building him up to be this big boss guy or w.e Who cares about Lauren, they didn’t need another story line for her. She had her spotlight in season 2. Dushane was just doing dumb shit the entire season, very unlike him What was the point of jaq stealing the drugs, on top of that why call Kieron to literally just show him she took the drugs essentially digging his grave and involving him for absolutely no reason. The summerhouse rioting was overdone to the max, then the lil girl got hit by the car which exacerbated everything which had me questioning life. Stef didn’t kill sully which is understandable but after a fuck ton of bs I really wanted atleast that to happen.

Completely agree mate. It felt like the poorest of the 3 Netflix seasons tbh. Like you say Jaq stealing from Sulley made no sense whatsoever. Aaron and Lizzie disappearing into thin air as well. (Were the actors double booked?😂) really feel the show deserved a better finale.

Agreed the Irish side of it could have been much better developed, but I like the ending - it was rightfully nihilistic and did a good job of showing the pointlessness and waste of the characters' lives. It's bleak and it should be. It was good. Felt like a decent full stop and felt fairly realistic too (as far as a Netflix series goes).

I think you're all missing the point. The story "felt incomplete" because you're grieving the tragic loss of characters you grew attached to over the years. Your feeling is that the lives of the characters who you grew attached to were cut short, which they were - they were murdered, so you're experiencing a feeling of death. So the writers did a good job - you're grieving a loss and misdiagnosing the feeling of grief for a feeling of dissatisfaction with the writing. But this is wrong, it's not the writing that's the issue, it's the feeling of the characters' deaths that is unsetting you - which actually means the writing is good. That main point aside though, I do agree the Irish characters could have been much better developed - that was a pitty, and the writers could have done better there. Overall a satisfying ending though which accurately demonstrated the pointlessness of trying to be a Top Boy.

Honestly, series should’ve started with summerhouse in ruins after the riots, as kinda like a buildup to what’s gonna happen, then cut to the morrocans and the shipment being stolen by the Irish and them being killed, but not showing who killed them, then carry it on from the finale of season 2

TBH I now understand that they truly didn't know what to do without Jamie!! THIS ENTIRE SEASON WAS FILLER FOR THAT FINAL SCENE BETWEEN SULLY AND DUSHANE!! Because the irish storyline was a bust. Lauryn's story was forced Jaq's story made zero sense Mandy had a story but she didn't need that much screentime Kieron was a waste This was NOT Dushane The only good thing was Stef even though we knew were it was going from the beginning!!

There were some really good things that people are not seeing. Stef’s character arc was really well done. He was set out for revenge but matured through conversations with his girlfriend, realising that being a gangsta will kill him eventually. So killing sully isn’t worth it. He doesn’t want to be the top boy, that’s what killed his brother. That was pretty obvious so i don’t know why people want him to be Jamie 2.0. Jamie said in the last season, stef is smart. They showed that here. He’s smart enough to know not to follow the same path as his brother. Sully’s death was well done. It made sense. The amount of people hes killed in just this season alone, he’s not getting a happy ending. He’s amassed way too many enemies. The Irish, Jaq, stef, Jamie’s friends. If stef wasn’t going to get him, someone else would. It’s a message that being the top boy and living this lifestyle doesn’t end well. There are no happy endings. When you’re in that life, it ends abruptly with no warning. I feel like people want a Hollywood ending. When it’s not that. It’s real. There aren’t no opportunities for final goodbyes in this lifestyle. There aren’t no final stand offs and there isn’t opportunity for closure.

Sully was on a killing spree and there were other characters and stories that never got the shine they actually should of. Even without traveling they could have made this better than it was and they ended such a good show in a bad way

Idk for this finale was amazing. I’m not really looking for a convential crime show with a big boss at the end. I’ve always liked Top Boy because you feel what the characters feel and the stress behind making the right decisions in times of crisis. All the characters were believable to me.

Dushane getting caught completely out of character and Jack's stealing the food is ridiculous. ashley has stated that actually netflix wanted to keep the show going but ashley and kane wanted to end it and wanted to go out on a high. I’m happy that I’m not the only one that thought this season was disappointing, we were set up for some kind of big Sully and Dushane ending that never really got solved, the Irish came and went within a flash, the entire season lead up to Sully being killed by Steffan and that was just thrown into the bin and finally they killed off Sully with no context. Most of this season just screamed of lazy writing and the product being rushed. This show deserved better.

I feel like this season kinda embodied all the weak points of the whole show: the writing. The dialogue & acting always carried this show but as far as structuring a story they had a lot of great ideas but the execution was often poor. Way too much happened off-screen. Sully’s death was brilliant tho. I love that we don’t know who killed him because it don’t matter: “the streets killed him”. And yeah Kano killed it this season

I liked how “nobody won” but could’ve done so much more They could’ve made the gang turn on sully after realising that he killed jaime The irish thing was pointless. Would’ve much rather saw infighting than a new threat. Jaq getting out of the game couldve been done so differently. Maybe she did and got dragged back into it. Or she tries to save her partner and lauren. Like what happened to jaq? She was just left at the estate The struggle between dushane and sully was underwhelming to say the least. They were fine until they weren’t then they just get shot without much else. Would have much prefered a hand to hand or knife fight during the riot. This season was super trash, and I’m upset about it! I watched this show since it was on bbc and I’m from New York. So imagine how I had to watch them on KZfaq or search the net for someone that randomly uploaded it at when they wanted to. This was trash!!! Trash!!! Like why reboot the show for 3 season? This show remembered me of the famously hit US show “The Wire”. Man I was so hype when Netflix picked up and then boys were back. Everything was rushed, everything was off, this season didn’t give me Topboy. It was all over the place. They should of had a proper send off. Been watching this since 2011!! This was an epic fail!

Season 3 was ass. We going to hype it because we grow up in london, but if you take that out and just focus on the show and series in general its poor. Poor acting, poor writing, poor plots that have no follow up, plots that are forgotten about and never spoken on again. Overal its a strong 3 out of 10. Nowhere near power, the wire or snowfall as far as drug shows go

To me it wasn’t good at all. The writing was of very low quality. They cropped a 10 episode series into 6 and it shows. Besides that, the decisions characters make are baffling sometimes and it made me watching the last episodes just because i need to see how it ends.. and again i was disappointed

It was so poorly directed and rushed and i just got so un intrested they could of done few more episodes with a lot more story telling. To be fair you never know sully could of survived the shot at the end. Could of got hit in the face instead of the head and could be a massive twist and he goes and gets his payback on who ever shot him.

It was shite. They killed off the Irish in episode three and they were the most interesting part of it. Half the other characters were just there and totally uninteresting.

The Irish was absolutely wasted opportunity and the jaq story stalled the whole show. This season was all over the place and no where at the sametime. Felt like Easter enders yard edition.

I didn't like to see the underage stuff with Stefan, it was way too noncey. Also, the zestyness with si n stef lifting weights was just cringe.
