another great couple of tips, using pva foam and threading the rig through the stick. Genius. I've always just hooked through the stick, a little twist and back through to secure. Totally trying this. I'll let you know the result :)

Inserting the hook into pva nugget can mean the hook won’t dislodge especially if cold but liked the info 💪🏻

Great idea with the pva nugget but do you not find it dislodges the putty on the cast with the weight of the stick moving towards the hook?

Hey Ivan, no I've not had any problems - not with the putty on the outside of the PVA, also the little piece of lead core wire really gives the putty something to grip too.

Hi John, I’m new to fishing so am doing a lot of watching on KZfaq and have come across your channel, I find them very informative and easy to follow can I ask though your hook link how best is it to tie to your mainline, would I be right in thinking a quick link swivel! Thank you

Awesome, thank you! Yep, I like to have a quick change swivel on main line, either in a lead clip or a heli arrangement then have a figure of eight loop at the end of my hooklink to hook onto the swivel, covered with an anti-tangle sleeve.

@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV hi thank you for getting back to me I really appreciate it and the help and guidance is gratefully received, I’m favouring the in-line lead clip at the moment as I just find it a bit easier to set up what with just starting out. What I didn’t use and will start to as I have seen on many of your videos the use of the anti tangle sleeve, as the prevention of a tangle is far better than not having it. Sorry with the swivel am I right in thinking they come in different sizes and if so what size would you recommend. Thank you once again. Tony.

Yep, pretty much any rig that'll allow you to slid the Stick down the hooklink will work.

How are you meant to loop that rig and stick onto a swivel with a loop that small ?

Hi Sophie, the loop and rig is designed to fit on a a quick change swivel - you'll find it loops onto the hook of these swivel really easy. Hope this helps.

So when u clip that loop into a qc swivel do u put any anti tangle tubing or anything over the loop and swivel to prevent it coming off or do you just clip on and have trust in the loop not coming off the swivel ?

@@sophieseymour43 Yep thats it - hook on the loop then slide up the anti-tangle sleeve to cover this end of the swivel and neaten everything.

Mainline Baits Carp Fishing TV bit confused here, so if you're having to use anti tangle sleeve your have to thread that through the stick as well the 🤔
