This is why I always keep a spare sweater or even jacket in my vehicle, for this reason. Women love sweaters because of the cotton & personal sent that gets on the cotton. They low key love smelling you, they are not always cold.

In 1995 I bought 2 Diesel jackets, one 'ordinary' leather, the other suède. I've been wearing them every year since and meanwhile they got a bit of that vintage look, but they always got me compliments, up until today. Investing in some high quality, timeless pieces is worth the money.

I bought a Lone Pine suede jacket about 20 yrs ago, and it still looks awesome (and Overland still sells them). US-made, quality item. None of my other jackets made it for that long, and typically last 3-5 yrs. So in terms of price per wear that one great item though initially expensive ended up much cheap in the long run. And I'm still getting compliments on it.

I've had a lot of different builds, (230lbs fat to 180lbs muscular to a thin 145 lbs) I have to say Henleys, T-shirts, bright colors and any tucked-in shirt is harder for a chubbier guy to pull off. Great advice on jackets, though 👌One of the best pieces for a chunky dude. Untucked, button-down shirts always worked well on me. Be careful with the length, though. Done properly, it can add the illusion of length to the torso, but too long, and it'll make your legs look shorter. And be careful about the rise in your pants. That can make legs look stumpy too. A hoodie can add thickness to the upper torso, making a taper toward the waist. Yes, I was terribly self-conscious when I was heavier. Darker colors, NO wrinkles, crisp lines, and NAIL THE FIT👍

A tip that I would add to this, is to go through your current wardrobe and get rid of old tired stuff that isn't doing you any favours. Massive psychological boost.

For me it's definitely leather jackets & dark colors. I technically have a pair of work boots I keep clean for going out in black leather. When I was younger I went with a grey color, now that I'm older full on black. I even get compliments from both sides. I also have my fair share of suits. Men if you are going to own a suit, learn to do a tie. If you get a malfunction that requires you to redo the tie that's your time to shine.

I had a bit of a serial monogamy problem out of high school and as an undergraduate. When I bought my first clothes I kinda just got it and forgot it, black jeans and a grey+black heather and a red Henley were basically my only clothes. Haven't had that problem in awhile but it's good to know if I want to start dating again I'll just grab a Henley and let it start happening to me again.

There’s three things that always get complements in my book two of them from both guys and girls. First is the sweater. A nice sweater gets compliments constantly from girls. Next is a winter hat. The right winter hat, usually a trapper style knitted hat with fur lining for me. It’s crazy how girls and guys both will compliment it. I mean dozens per day. The third is shoes. A nice pair of shoes or boots is almost instantly noticed both by girls and guys. But outfits become more of a taste thing. Some girls do not like classic mens style at all. They prefer the more modern fast fashion styles which right now are awkwardly baggy and squared off. You shouldn’t dress to impress specific people. You should dress to impress yourself and want to look good around others regardless of whether they like it or not. What are you going to stop wearing a 20k dollar bespoke suit because the girl you are crushing on only likes t shirts and baggy jeans? No.

Totally agree! Once you've found your own style (if it's not the top of the morning style), keep at it, and eventually someone will come along that appreciates you for it. Then you know you've found a keeper and a potential life partner. If your style is like the "popular flavor of the month", then good luck - because that is going to get expensive!!!

We still have some hot days here in Finland, so I wanted to ask that how do I minimize sweating in general and through my shirts...? I wear a hoodie on top, but like today I felt a need to take it off after school but I didn't because it has a bigger text and it has a little hole below the text. And I feel like I sweat or atleast my body temperature rises noticeably just from walking a couple of hundred meters... I put antiperspirant with aluminium in it (I know it's not good for your body or fertility but still)...

I would say choose lightweight and breathable fabrics. Linen or cotton. Also -- antiperspirant does help. Try going without an undershirt to minimize this effect. It’s best to wear a shirt made of sweat-wicking material when not wearing an undershirt.

In hot climates or weather I would wear simple neutral color t shirts with non camo tactical pants or shorts and a pair sports shoes that doesn't have too many distracting colors or patterns. And top it off a simple boonie hat or a base ball cap to protect the head.

I learned early on not to roll up my sleeves. It might work for some people, but I found that people will treat me as if I am looking for a fight. It's a subconscious thing. People will judge you, like it or not and my experience is that rolled up sleeves comes off as aggressive, like it or not. I hope that helped someone.

More important than what to wear is how you wear it. The fit of the clothes is paramount. You can have the best clothes but if it doesn’t fit then it won’t look good.

So fit then. I feel like fit is the biggest takeaway. What if you are like in between sizes? I am too big for an XL but XXL is compensating for a gut so it fans out like a dress on me...I have always had this problem and never knew how to solve it.

Try different brands and cuts and figure out where the fitment issue is. Im between XL and XXL. I have a long torso so XL-T (not XL-TG, tg is just the french abbreviation for XL in Canada) works. Ralph lauren tshirts for example come in XXL slim fit that also works. Slim fit tapers but the chest stays XXL. So figure out if your chest and shoulders are XL or XXL then figure out if your torso is relaxed, custom, athletic or slim fit. Once you find a brand that works use that as a measuring reference. I also have my casual clothes tailored if its and easy fitment fix

I'm only 5'5" and have generally had issues with Henley's. They usually end up being too long in the waist and WAY too long in the sleeves, so they end up consuming my body. Perhaps I just haven't found the right brand yet.

If you lift a lot of weights, take HRT, and shave your head (if balding), it will suit you perfectly. Just make sure it’s nice and snug, have confidence wearing it, and get yourself a 21 your old girlfriend like Leonardo DiCaprio. 😉

Henley on ‘Temms’, rather than Henley on ‘Times’ - I’m a Brit and that makes not sense to me either.

Better than pronouncing it as Thames is spelled like most of us Americans do. I’m so used to hearing the complete butcher of the name that I didn’t even notice the mispronunciation here 😂
