Nope, I'm one of those ........ Can't leave a mistake and not happy with your fix idea so I'll just have to pull out the rows and correct my mistake. Thanks for the suggestions.

The only problem I had in the beginning of the video is that your hands were off screen so I could see what you were doing. But the actual instruction is great. I have made many raglan sleeve patterns. To me, top down is the only way to go for easy & best fit of shoulder area. Set in sleeves always hang too far below my shoulders. I think it should lie on the top of your shoulder joint. Thank you!!

Thanks for your nice comment. I'm glad the video is helpful despite the rough video editing. I still haven't found a set up with the camera at an angle and distance from my hands and workspace that will allow me to work comfortably and provide a good view. At least not yet. As the sole director, videographer, editor and producer it's a real challenge!

This is very helpful! I made a similar mistake on my first lace shawl, I'm missing two M1L's as a result of tinking incorrectly. I have to figure out how to sneak those back in there.

First off, thank you for taking the time to record and post such informative videos. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and are very much appreciated! I am knitting a top down raglan cardigan. I have divided for the sleeves and am now knitting the body. Every 15 rows, the pattern calls for m1 on each front side. Just a two stitch increase every 15 rows. I missed an increase on the left six rows back. Normally I would just rip the work back, but the entire back panel is intricate cabling. Is there a way for me to knit to where the extra stitch should be, drop the stitch down to the place where I have missed the increase and add it? I would just add the m1l where I am, but every time I wear the sweater I will be looking at how the increases are not evenly spaced. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Kara, Thanks for the nice comment. I'm sorry I didn't see your question until now and I'm sure the sweater is finished by this point. To answer the questions, though, yes you can knit to point where the increase should have happened, drop down to the row where the increase is needed and then pick up the stitches to continue knitting from that point. I haven't done a detailed tutorial on this technique but will try to do one in the near future.

hi i am knitting a raglan sweater for my 6 yrs son on the round without pattern and i do not know how many sts should i close for arm hols and how to dec to shape raglan after and before the sts markers .. i am knitting with 3 needle .... could you help me ?? thank you

mervat hidar I have a "recipe" for calculating the stitches you need to cast on for a top down raglan sweater for just about any size. You can download it from the files tab in my students group on fb here: @groups/knittingclasses/ You can also post questions there and get help with your projects. Basically, the worksheet guides you through how to calculate how many stitches to cast on and how to increase so that the sweater comes out the size you expect. The worksheet can be used to make sweaters for any size, from baby to adult.
