I once saw an interview with that guy and he kind of had an explanation for that. He understood the question wrong and thought should name an animal with the same letter three times in the word but he admitted that even then his answer was wrong because alligator only has two "l's" in it.

Honestly, if we're talking prices TODAY, that guys bid of 60,000 might not be to far off. Those two bikes probably cost around 15-20k each today. Price of lumber is gone made, probably a good 3-4k in that furniture set. He may of been around 20k off and pretty close to that lady today. But yea back when that show actually aired. 60k was way to much for back then. lol

"Name a day of the year you really want to be with friends.... " not "Name a day of the week" is what I would understand But when a question is phrased like this I, too, would get confused...

To be fair, that "brand of gas" question doesn't really make sense. Shell, Mobile, and other brands are probably associated more as gas stations than the brand of the gas they sell. Personally, my first thought is that gas is gas, and has no brand, so their answers make about as much sense as anything else.

Ah, it was a time when shows were funny, when hosts were cracking jokes, when participants were also cracking jokes and everyone on this and that side of the screen were laughing their behinds off. Nowadays so many would feel "triggered", "insulted", "hurt", "offended" and other kind of BS, and would rush off to the toilet of Internet called Twitter to post yet another hashtag and demand cancellations and executions, because of their fragile and worthless egos.

I mean, TECHNICALLY, the 2 guys got the "name an animal with 3 letters in its name" question correct. If the question had been, "name an animal with ONLY 3 letters its name", then they would be incorrect.
