Why even replace Biden, it's his team that helps him run the country and they are all experienced and good at what they do, aside from that Harris is there for a reason! Biden has my vote. I don't know any Biden supporter who has withdrawn their support over his bad debate night. How can anyone think that there is another viable candidate to replace him that has enough name recognition and support to do better than Biden?? I don't believe, sadly, that Kamala Harris is a strong enough candidate to replace him and think that some Never Trumpers will stay home or vote for someone like Haley or even Reagan over Harris. I don't know, some people think even Newsom of all politicians has a good chance of replacing Biden. People keep trying to bring up how Europe has shorter elections but the USA is giant and it's very, very difficult to actually get information out that will reach everyone in the USA. Biden has the recognition and he's already shown he's done it, and he's done it well. Yes, I understand the concerns--but to ask him to drop out and cause even more worry in the democratic party when dropping out is a more dangerous option than not doing so, is worrying more than anything going on with Biden himself.

Bidden has always struggled in debates, and trying to quickly thing of a response to Trump in a debate who lied every time he opened his mouth, yes Biden may have had to think and respond in the short timeline of the debate rules, but in reality POTUS is the final word and historically they have always taken careful deliberation from numerous people before answering the question.

professor Lichtman is one of the smartest political experts right now. He makes excellent points to every question he is asked and is always spot on. BTW he's not rooting for one candidate. He predicted Trump over Clinton, Reagan over Carter , Bush over Kerry etc. He doesn't let his political beliefs decide his prediction.

Project 2025 is just a right wing fever dream that ain’t directly attached to Trump. He didn’t write it. He ain’t really involved with it. No, they definitely do not. They have a liberal bias as hell. It is just that at the end of the day, they need to seem fair past a certain point, and having a president who looks like he has Parkinson's or neurological disease fail to adequately address the concerns is a big problem for the democratic party and for them. Joe needs to do better to convince voters that he can at least hold it down for 2-4 more years and not become lost everywhere he goes.

Trump arguably is arguably a hero (he 100% is considered one by a large number of voters, rightly or wrongly). Biden doesn't hold the military victory key, and has lost the military defeat key. He also loses the "scandal" key based on the questions about his fitness. So when you add the 2 keys Lichtman says Biden is already missing 2 keys (mandate and charisma). So he is already missing 6 keys. I would like to see Lichtman's actual current scoring of all 13 keys.

The media's response the debate still disgusts me. The fact that Trump lied about everything and refused to answer questions is far more important than Biden stumbling over his words. In the real world, if he needs 10 minutes to formulate his response, it's fine, he doesn't need to answer questions as quickly as possible. A lot of it honestly is ageism - i have friends that think they are just too god damn smart - they know everything . They have never really liked Biden really - I wasn't real crazy about him in 2020 - but he has done incredible job in the most difficult circumstances in my life and that is 60 yrs at this point . There are a class of democrats that I guess believe they are intellectually superior - and the LOVE , LOVE Obama . Obama was ok but Biden has accomplished more in 3 . 5 yrs than Obama did in 8 - I am not trying to throw stones - I am just telling you the truth. I’ve been saying some of this to my friends who think Biden should step down… last two times an incumbent didn’t run when they were able to, the incumbent party lost (62&68). We have to think about swing voters. They DONT like Harris. Period. Lots of polls say this. I’m a loyal Dem and I don’t like Harris. Of course I would vote for her if she was the nominee… but I think we’d be stupid to run her…. On the other hand, if we were to skip over her that would infuriate the black coalition within our party and they are some of our strongest democratic members… so we’d risk losing part of our most steadfast base if we had an all out fight for the nominee. I personally think David French the long time traditional republican makes a brilliant case for Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania!!! He is a young popular governor of the most critical state that the Dems HAVE to win. If not we lose. Period end of story. So putting him up as our nominee would be great, if it weren’t for the Harris problem. All that to say, I still think Biden is the strongest candidate we have even after the debate debacle! Any Dem will vote for him over Trump, and if we focus on getting the disaffected Repubs that sided with Niki Haley we win. This is what the top Dems and media should be focusing on! What were the reasons they soured on Trump and pound that messaging on how Biden will help those people!!! I also think Biden needs to start doing some round tables with his team, invite the press into the first part to reinforce that the presidency is a coalition of the cabinet! The optics are, “hey press, we want to give you a photo opp, a peek into our strategy session on how to further eliminate opioid deaths, or the border” or whatever and have the appropriate cabinet members there. SHOW THE AMERICAN PEOPLE THE SAUSAGE BEING MADE!!!

I just think the instability that replacing Biden at this stage would produce would only make it even easier for Trump to win. And we had a primary process. Ppl came out and voted for Biden in the primaries, he won every contest except 1, and he won the delegates he needed. What's fair is fair, he earned re-nomination.

I’m a 56-year-old college student. At my community college, classes are only $5 for seniors. That price doesn’t apply for me, but would for you. You should take a class if something interests you and you have a community college with the same deal! I was having terrible memory issues before, but now I’m on the Dean’s list and have only gotten As and Bs. School is so good for the brain! Also, I fell in love with the school and am trying to get a part-time job there. My favorite classes have been with my favorite history professor, the history of Mexico, and also the history of US Latino/as. This coming fall I’ve cut back to just one course so I can get used to the working world again. I’d been a stay-at-home homeschooling mom for over two decades. I schooled our two kids K-12. Now it’s my turn to learn while my kids are moving on with their adult lives. My daughter just got engaged this week! ❤
