If you don't want to spend MOAR wii points into it, I recommend Bomberman 94 for Turbografx16/PCENGINE. Otherwise spent until 1p.m. if you live in america around 15$ into this, to get around 2-3 games out of it in the end, ESPECIALLY Wiiware games which become abandonware at this point! Other games I'd recommen would be: Chrono Twins DX (Wiiware), any Rebirth Konami game (Gradius the least from these because high difficulty), Lords of Thunder (Turbografx16/PCENGINE), Strider (Genesis/Mega Drive), The Last Blade 1 (2nd game is a bit unbalanced, has 3 characters more, but much more difficult!) and Sengoku 3 (Neo Geo), and Rage of the Gladiator (Wiiware, very punchoout esque with it's own uniqueness!)

Not a problem! There are A LOT of VC and Wiiware titles on there and it's hard to keep track of what's been released when and where and if it's also been re-released or ported to other platforms. I'm sure I'd have missed a few things had I done a similar list. Your's definitely hit a lot of the good exclusives!

I was looking to add that to the list but I didn't because it's not exclusive to the Wii Virtual Console. However, after watching My Life in Gaming's video, they made a good point that it was MADE for Wii controls, so that probably makes it worth buying for the Wii as opposed to playing it on your computer.

All nintendo Virtual stuff is normally like that so if the game has flashing lights it wont set people off.

Neel Behl yes I do believe that you can buy Wii VC games on Wii U. However if a game is available on both Wii and Wii U shops it’s probably better to go with Wii U version

yea if they are on both i am going to hold off buying them until the wii u virtual console is taken down especially since i only own a wii u

For the games that are exclusive to the Wii Virtual Console on the list linked in the description (not available directly through Wii U), you have to put Wii Points on the Wii Virtual Console from the Wii Channel before the deadline (later today) or you won't be able to buy games on the Wii Virtual Console itself. If you have money on there, you're fine until January of 2019 when they close the shop officially. If you download the games to your hard drive, they will remain on there unless you take them off. Unfortunately, memory fills up fast, so you will need to use an SD card to move things around occasionally, just be sure not to delete them or you will have to re-download them before January of 2019. I hope that makes sense. Sorry for the late reply but I haven't had access to reliable internet before now. Good luck!

its ok i have 14 of the 17 games i purchased last night i just need to figure out the sd card and external thing since i have a wii u and its more complicated few games i couldnt get but i spent 150 dollars so whatever, nintendo is expensive and overpriced anyway i was watching a lot of youtube videos and i saw they had a sale at 1 point or club nintendo when games were like a dollar each even 2 3 dollars is fine but 5 8 10 and upwards is too much

I hear you, with the Wii Shop closing, it's officially becoming a dead console in my mind. Stephen Beaty had a good suggestion about using a Wii U with the Wii Channel but I've heard the Pie setup is a good solution too. Good call on the Chrono Trigger reviews but I honestly haven't played through all of the versions and I had so many titles to cover in such a short time, I had to rely on the research material I had available which was a score aggregate. I have Chrono Trigger on DS but haven't ever had time to play through it, so I'll have to run through the SNES and DS versions to compare sometime. Thank you for the suggestion!

The Wii U has had a brutal 1-2 punch in the past year between the loss of the Wii Shop Channel and the loss of miiverse. It's really sad to see. That said while people kinda poo poo on the Wii U because it can't output 240p what it can do is output Wii games on the Wii U gamepad. It's a bit awkward with games that use the pointer (although the gamepad does have a built in sensor bar) but it's still a really nice way to play those games.

I try to avoid pirating at all but I have to agree. Once something becomes unavailable for purchase in any form, I have no qualms about downloading it elsewhere.

I know they do, and so do a lot of people, but if there's no way to legally obtain the games and if there's no way the developers/distributors can get paid for the games either way, then so-called "piracy" seems like a non-issue and a reasonable solution.

Yeah, I've heard that's really easy. I try to avoid doing that but once there's no other option, I don't see anything wrong with that if you can't give them your money anymore anyway. I guess I used to say that back in the ROM days before Virtual Console and then I changed my mind but if they never bring them back for purchase, that's definitely a viable option.

Yep, they're pretty goofy! That's one of the reasons I couldn't put it on my list of recommendations and just left it as an honorable mention. I don't regret buying it but it's not the best Adventure Island game for sure!

goemon047 You know it annoys me that they updated it to use 3D graphics for the sake of it. The original 2D graphics were better which were also available on Virtua Console. Must be something to do with game development these days that makes a 3D game easier to produce than a 2D one

Yeah, it really seems that's what they were going for there. I agree, the original is much better and I've heard that designing a game with pixel art is more expensive than just doing it in 3D but I don't know a lot about game development personally.

Yeah that Wii Ware version... People complained about the cancellation of a new Bonk game, but if it would have looked like that, no thanks.

La Mulana has had several other releases though.

I'm sorry you didn't dig the list but I stuck to the exclusive games. I came across La-Mulana during my research and while it looked cool, it didn't make the list because it isn't exclusive to the Wii Virtual Console but I'll be sure to check it out.
