I’m also in Colorado, we have lots of wildlife, to include deer and rabbits. I have all of these plants and they are all reliable bloomers in Colorado. I would like to add a couple of others to your list Agastache (all varieties), iris, peony, and poppies. While the last two are shorter lived than those you listed the deer and rabbits leave them alone and they create amazing color in the spring before the others get going. Daffodils and grape hyacinth are the only bulbs that make it. Tulips are like candy for deer, none of mine have ever bloomed.

I have never heard about the Moonshine Yarrow. I am so excited that you shared it! It is beautiful!! I grow many of the Salvia plants here in Connecticut, and I agree with you, they add so much to my landscape. I also grow the Day Lilly and have been able to share them with neighbors. They are great multipliers! I am going to try the Cat Mint also. Thanks for sharing. Be well

I'm so happy as I am a beginner gardener and I had chosen 3/5 of these plants for my own garden in London, UK ! I am going for only purple/blue and white flowers with a variety of green textures and shapes. I chose salvia, white valerian and catmint to which I will certainly add white Gaura and rosemary but also perhaps sedums. Happy gardening !

Deer LOVE daylilly flowers I found to my sorrow this year! I have a spray that’s called repels all, it smells very bad, but it does fade and unfortunately it keeps the deer completely away. Unfortunately because it was fun to see them even though they wanted to eat my daylilies.

I am trying to simplify my garden because I am not able to keep it up as well as I used to. I have decided that daylilies, hostas, and sedum are going to be a large part of my landscape. I also just planted a Russian sage. Is that the same as catmint? They look similar.

Hi, I have cat’s pyjamas, Prussian blue catmint, a purple ,tall salvia, forgot it’s name…..and a tall Russian sage that is big . I think it had the wrong name…should have been a 2foot one…however..I love them all..for scent..loooong lasting, and the bees and hummingbirds just love them. One of my themes…for the birds, bees, trying for butterflies but not working out to well as yet. Ciao!

How do you make the day lily re-bloom? Should you pinch off the flowers after they die?
@catherinemoravec1648
@catherinemoravec1648 3 жыл бұрын
Reblooming daylilies have been bred to rebloom. Most cultivars only bloom once and pinching off the flowers won't make much of a difference. Stella D'Oro is the most famous of them, but there are many recent cultivars that will rebloom.
