Don't you have to disconnect one battery terminal to trickle charge?

For me here in the Canadian prairies I would say really cold is -20° c

When you buy a new generator, do you do any kind of engine break in, changing oil after an hour run then change again and run engine again for an hour then change oil again?

I called firman and chatted with them. They said the two main considerations were change the oil after 50hrs on the first change instead of 100 and use conventional oil for the first change and then a person is free to use synthetic after that
