Two rounds down in 400 Thunder Top Fuel and there’s been two different winners. Round one saw Wayne Newby take home the gold at the East Coast Thunder and round two was the benefit of Kelly Bettes, who fought her way to a well deserved win at the New Year Thunder. Round three is back at Sydney Dragway and the Santo’s Summer Thunder, where everything is on the line at the halfway point of the 2018-19 championship.

I just watched the first race. Kelly drove the wheels of that thing. Look at the tyre tracks!! All at 500k's plus. WOW!!

Kelly Bettes. I think they are both amazing drivers. IMO BF has the world's best equipment so if they were in their own cars she would win. I'd love to see them in equal equipment that would be a race.

This may be the worst coverage of a race ever produced..... 4 races in 26 minutes of video.... no camera to film the cars as they cross the finish line.... Don't waste your time.

We need to get back to 1/4 mile racing! Enough with this 1000ft/300m bullshit! Scott Kalitta wouldn't have wanted this! There have been safety changes made to the cars after Scott's death and if a track isn't safe for 1/4 mile they should make it safe or not be on the schedule of events. There are plenty of tracks that are as safe as possible. Drag racing is a dangerous sport and everyone that straps into a car knows and accepts the risks. This sport was built on the 1/4 mile. All the records have always been based on the 1/4 mile. Then suddenly after Scott's death all those record's didn't mean a thing. Look at the #'s, they are going just as fast (mph) in 1000ft as they were doing the 1/4 back then. Now we have 1000ft records. It is all crap! No driver want's their demise to be the reason that bad changes are made like changing the distance raced. Especially when it is only for nitro classes! We made the good changes to the cars, let's get back to the 1/4 mile standard this sport was founded upon! Scott is not forgotten! We love you buddy!
