Top Gear (SNES) - Part 3: Japan (1/2)

We now enter the third country in our Top Gear world tour, a country I personally want to visit someday, the country of Japan. This is the first country in the game that I wasn't able to complete in KZfaq's 15-minute time limit, so I split it up into 2 parts. The first part shows the first two tracks in the circuit: the capital city of Tokyo, and the historic WW2 bombing site of Hiroshima.

I always really liked the Hiroshima track, and as a kid I thought it was the coolest thing how it'd change from night to day! Of course, I didn't know about the WWII bombings then.

One thing I also noticed: whenever the computer car pits for fuel, the frame rate speeds up, and for whatever reason, this enhances the nitro's speed boost.

true. probably because it has little animation in use while another player is in the pits, and this makes your car run smooth and fast.

You ever consider becoming an actual crew chief on a racing team? I've never seen someone backtime the fuel window so well!

HarlemHyena The fact he's good at the game might do much difference on a crew team, just due to the fact that the game is unrealistic. Pretty much, he just learned his way around the game, and around good timing. However, going from 200mph in a game to going 200 mph irl would make a big difference. Especially the steering methods. At such a speed, the laws of physics completely changes itself

Ronin Tails You say that, but real life pit crews also have to know how to backtime their car's fuel consumption and intake. When a race reaches crunch time teams tend to take a "splash & dash," or at least take on as much fuel as needed; it does weigh the car down, and you need to get back on the track. So with that feature in the game, seeing a player thinking like a crew chief and utilize it well is amazing.

There actually is a very similar game, kind of like a spiritual successor, released just a couple months ago called Horizon Chase Turbo. It even has the same music composer from Top Gear.

Seria súper jugarle a este tío y no se, si le podría ganar pero le haría el pare porque yo también se jugar bastante este juego y siempre escojo al carro morado o al anaranjado. :)
