It's because Richard isn't from Northern England. If you're from Southern England you pronounce "Bath" as "barth" whereas northerners don't add an 'R'. Passport/Parsport; Laff/Larf, Glass/Glarse, Path/Parth and so on.'

@@Linusgump no it was axed in 2020 and they stopped making cars here on October 20th 2017, however the writing was on the wall then because Holden were gonna build a whole bunch of cars on the Zeta platform that underpinned the Commodore however GFC hit and there was no money left from GM to use and no matter how much the Australian government threw at it after GFC they were leaking like crazy.

Had the 2012 SSV series II 6 litre V8 ute but had to sell it over Covid to make ends meet. Damn we made good cars here. RIP Holden. Going to pre order a 2023 raptor now that I’m working again. As a footnote I’d like to add that these aren’t a businessman car. They’re a cashed-up bogan vehicle, and we love them lol

Hammond is a very lucky boy. That car is the only car I would buy if I could afford any car, 6,2 v8 supercharged, 0-60 in 4,0sec and close to 200mph. And with a manual gearbox. The perfect car. And now u can get one for £35000.

My hz 202 made that noise. It was the power house stromberg carbie falling off the inlet manifold. The studs had striped so it was tied down with wire for about 100000ks. It sounded so real we made a sticker for the rear window “ supercharger equiped” in the same look as the old “ hollie equiped” stickers. Was a great conversation starter. That beautiful car was quick. Zero to 100 in 5. Minutes.

I love that supercharger whine! It sounds epic. The car is amazing. It’s a fast four door salon in the Jaguar XJR, BMW M5 and Maserati Quattroportre mould. Sadly, I think it is no longer available in the U.K. I don’t think we’ll ever get a new model of it, as it is now the days of turbo charging, smaller engines and hybrids.

Holden as a whole unfortunately no longer exists. A couple of years after GM closed down the factory they wound up the whole operation sadly. The new car market here in Australia is boring as Hell now, just an endless sea of soulless SUVs and dual cab utes.

I love the sound of the Bathurst. It sounds amazing. I love the Vauxhall VXR8. It reminds me of the Lotus Carlton. This should have been nominated for car of the year 2009. Whether it's the normal Vauxhall VXR8, the Bathurst or any other model of Vauxhall VXR8, I'd have it over the BMW M5 any day.

whats wrong with roots blowers? Their total efficiency is lower than a centrifugal supercharger but they have other advantages like constant boost pressure whereas a centrifugal blower builds boost in relation to turbine speed like a turbo would. They are also cheaper, simpler and more reliable.

sadly General Motors closed Holden down and sold off Opel and Vauxhall to another Auto maker Imagine if an Auto manufacturer called H.O.V had evolved making hot 4cylinder hatches and V 8 super cars ....we can only dream

How come both the VXR8 Bathurst and Maloo are limited to 155mph? Even the 316bhp FK8 Civic Type R has a higher top speed than both of them!

Something to do with European emmissions laws I would imagine. They aren't limited when they are built to stay in Australia. Only the ones we export get the limiter
