I told my wife when we were going to this that the only thing I truly wanted from this movie is that bell/gong intro. When I heard it in the theatre I had the biggest damn smile on my face

@@DakMT Hell Yeah! The rest of the movie could have absolutely sucked, and that intro alone would have made it worth the price of admission. Best movie of the year!!

I went to the first early showing in Dolby and if you sat in the middle you will definitely feel and hear everything

Saw this movie seven times. Six times in theaters and once on the plane to Hawaii and back to California. Such a great movie to watch for the seventh time ever since I’m a die heart Top Gun fan!!

Say what you want about Cruise but the man can act and flat out makes awesome movies. What he did for Kilmer and now I read Willow wouldn’t do their show without him either is beyond great❤

Iam 36 and never seen a top gun yes i know...... its never too late tho!!! These intro's!!!!😢 i just keep watching them. I get tears cuz i feel like i should have been on the deck crew or co pilot i wasted my high school years.

So I do think the intro to the original is better however this is like a shot of liquid nostalgia directly into my veins every time I watch it. I truly wanted one thing from this movie when I went to the theaters to see it. I wanted the intro with the gong and I fucking got it! Can't stop myself from getting a tear in my eye because of how fucking awesome that intro music is and how perfect a start this was to Maverick.
