Hilarious that anyone thought Colin Keane would get that job. Colin Keane won this years’ jockey title by a handful of wins with over 100 more rides than Billy Lee! Moore has 15 group 1s which is certainly way more than any other European jockey and probably more than any jockey in the world. Still can’t get over the idea of replacing Moore with Keane 😂😂

World Class jockey another award for top jockey at the meeting. Moore and Buick best in the world. May lose form but they never lose class on the world stage. Proud of them both

In my opinion, the difference in Moore over the past couple of years is that he doesn't get trapped behind slowing horses as often.

Total bullshit that the best horse didn't win the BC Juvenile Turf, or at least the best horse on that day. When Buick dove down to the rail and came clear on Silver Knott, Ryan Moore was just finally getting Victoria Road through the gap he needed him to get through. At that point, the two emerged virtually head for head, except that Buick on the rail with Silver Knott was covering much less ground than Moore was on Victoria Road in about the 4 or 5 path. And lest we forget, inside the final 60 or so yards of the race, Buick had driven Silver Knott to the lead and was bowling along with the rail to guide completely unempeded. Moore had to sit patient until the gap he needed finally appeared before beginning his run. The post race notes for both horses on the official card reads as follow: For Silver Knott it reads "Closed well on inner 1-1/2F out. Driven through narrow gap on rail 120 yards out. Led narrowly 60 yards out, headed at post." For Victoria Road the card read "Waited for room 1-1/2F out. Fifth and closing between horses 1F out. Stayed on under pressure to challenge final 60 yards, led at post." I would argue both came clear at nearly the same time at a crutial point in the race, with Buick eventually slingshoting into the lead briefly because he had the ground-saving trip on the rail aboard Silver Knott. Moore had to wait longer and covered more ground in what was intially about the 4 path, then he moved closer to Buick and dug in for the fight, which Moore and Victoria Road won in a very close heads up/heads down bob by a nose right on the wire. Next season as 3YO, I'm sure the two will meet again at some point, and maybe Silver Knott may prove to be the better of the two on that day at that time. But I would argue on this day, in this race, he wasn't the best horse, or even the better horse. So even if your one who did argue the best horse in the race didn't win, and truly believe that with conviction, then you'd have to then concede the best jockey in the race won too. Because you can't have it both ways.

English jockeys don't ride with the elegance and stability of the Americans jockeys , it looks like they are pulling back the horse but somehow they are very effective, and that's what only matters.
@jamesharper586
@jamesharper586 Жыл бұрын
European jockey have so much more power when racing than American jockeys. I am also not sure about the elegance argument. Some American jockeys don't even ride the horse out properly in a finish and stay in an upright position. European jockeys coming to the Breeders Cup and outriding Americans in every turf race is quite telling.

@@jamesharper586 As I said, they are very effective, but when I see them ride, makes wonder if they are even professionals, I’m wrong obviously, but for me is painful to watch, and makes me wonder how important is to ride with elegance, the technique and even somehow artistically as the Americans when you have people that looks like are hanging tight to not to fall and win as hell, but hey! That’s just me! And I'm not American by the way!!
@nathanielandrews5264

@@antonioduverge3558 We ride more tactically in Europe. The horse has to settle before the home straight to be effective and reserve energy. I respect american racing which is more about fractions. If a horse is to keen the pulling action is necessary for the horse to have a chance. The jockeys in America just ride and push a keen unsettled horse that runs out of gas. The dirt racing is your speciality and ours is turf. So being respectful the jockeys actions would be different. So the elegant riding won't work on turf. If you ride the same on dirt to turf it wouldn't pan out. A lot of adjustments in riding style would need changing by the jockeys in America to compete on turf. The same goes for European horse on dirt to challenge your horses.

Y’all really be thinking jockeys make the difference haha. Y’all are crazy. The sad truth about a jockey is we don’t need them. They are only required by law and a jockey can only hurt a horse more than they can help them and that’s the facts
