Nice video Billy......And you know the funny thing I have learned from experience fishing. The one you have the most confidence in, is the one you catch more fish on. never understood it, but the fish do. LOL

Just got home from buying a Battle III 6000 TO REPLACE A reel a huge redfish stripped the gears on just before sitting down to watch this video. ;. Just a suggestion, I would exchange reels around if I was you,. I would put the 6000 on the 7' rod and put the 7000 on the 8' rod., Just a suggestion...

Just a thought, what I did with my popping corks was I got a plastic ammo box. One of the Plano type. Put all my pyramid and spider weights in the bottom and the corks in a gallon zip lock on top. If I need a weight I lift the whole bag of corks out of the way.

If you can the bull reds run in August but this is also the hight of hurricane season but the closer you can get to it the better look at tides and moon phases before you make the trip this can help out with camping and beach conditions also the clarity of the water will help you out

The St. Croix Triumph makes a good rod that works good with the penn spin fire VI use the 8' or 9' rod the 10' is to big but that is the rod I use a 1oz cast master is about the same size as the ¾oz Johnson sprite on the silver I like the split color blue or red the silver is blue and the red is gold I have had good luck with this

Thanks for your advice! Going to Port A next weekend. My 11 year old son loves to fish. We have fished there many times but plan on doing some serious fishing this time. I bought our first heavy duty surf rod and reel and we are ready! I’ll also be purchasing some of these lures.

I thought about doing it then changed my mind because it is hard enough to keep the fish on as it is with treble hooks. I have seen other KZfaqrs do this and still have success. I guess the only benefit would be to the fish.

Is a 10ft rod overkill for fishing with one of those poppers? I’m probably gonna buy another rod for throwing lighter stuff. But what about some of the bigger lures like spoons, big swim baits, or big poppers?
