Great video! Some more free pearls here... try to keep a ziploc bag with you so if you can't dispose, you can discreetly transport it to a trash and use the ziploc if you are at company's home, when you put it in their bathroom waste basket, it doesn't smell. Also always lift the toilet seat up to see if your blood has traveled onto it. Very embarrassing, especially when living with a man! Only you should know you have your cycle

My mom taught me to NEVER discuss my cycle with men or announce that it was taking place even with my husband. Some things truly are better left unsaid👍

@@moonlitcherri I bought mine from Amazon...to get used to them I did try them at home first on the lighter days. They are heavy duty but very thin and durable. I also hand wash them. (You can wear gloves)

I hope this helps someone especially my young sisters who are now learning. I love feminine hygiene and I still keep learning everyday. Am in my twenties and I smell good all the time even in my period days . U can give this a try 🤗 This self care is done wen u r in you period 1. Shower with warm or lukewarm water n not cold water . This helps melt any excess blood or clot left underneath or around your girly. Is not advisable to bath in the tub 🛁. The shower will be the best option. Splash the warm water down there severely before washing your entire body 2. Use a shower gel or body soap that has a nice scent to it to bathe you body to remove any body odor and use unscented soap to wash around your girly properly . Put the unscented soap on a smooth sponge and scrub there very gently to remove any left overs n smell . 3. Always place your pads in your panty before getting to the wash room. Take it along to make it easy to wear wen u r done washing and cleaning up. This is for my heavy bleeders 😉 After care If u r in Africa or anywhere I believe u can get these Rock salt Cloves Lemon Put hot water in a bidet or bucket(if u dun hv a bidet) and pour in a table spoon of the rock salt into it. Add your cloves and lemon in there . Cover the bucket with your towel and let everything sock in the hot water . Wait for the hot water to be a little warm so u can feel comfortable sitting . If the temperature gets to that level, sit on the bucket and cover yourself with the towel and let the steam work around that around for about 2 to 5 mins . Then continue with your wash down routine 😊😊😊. You welcome Thanks Aunty fumi. Lots of love from Ghana 🇬🇭

I used to stain blood on my mattress as a teen. But into adulthood i finally learned that I could just put a towel ontop of my mattress to sleep on. And no blood gets on the mattress. The towel tip is really a great one that I wish I had known about when I was a teen. 👍👏

Shower AT LEAST twice a day. And wear deodorant and carry wipes. If you live in a hot humid climate like Florida, one shower is not enough. Just going outside once to run errands can make you feel sticky and gross. When you feel that way, it's time to freshen up. Wear a fragrance as well and change underwear each time you shower and use a feminine wash especially on your period. Change your shirts as well

When I had periods I always liked to put a tiny drop of dettol in my water when I washed down there. Also put some in the final rinse water when washing period undies to get that dettol scent on the undies.

I 😂😂 when you mentioned the dogs knowing when we are on our periods. 😂 I got my first period at 16 and was so embarrassed that I hid it for almost the whole first week. I’ve had some bad experiences with my period that I won’t go into to. But I think knowledge is power, and if young girls and even adult women know about period care and what to expect then they may have less stress with their periods.

I'm so glad that you made this video Fumi. I was so lucky in that my mum was very open with us girl's and told us everything! Some girl's don't have that and it's so sad. We older ladies need to support the younger ones and talk to them about things instead of assuming they already know. I've had a number of conversations about personnel things with younger girl's/women, because if you don't answer their questions they stay ignorant and that's dangerous. Knowledge about all things is empowerment.💗

Great topics. Thank God for my primary school teacher who taught me about feminine hygiene and how to properly clean my "V" parts. I no longer have this issue due to menopause, but I still practice hygiene health. Being a public health professional for women's reproductive health, these topics need to be addressed because poor feminine hygiene can lead to both acute and chronic diseases. It’s always safe to wrap soil pad in tissue first then wrapper of the new pad.. especially if you don’t live alone..the tissue hides any exposed blood on the soiled pad..but I always have a spare plastic bag to dispose into vs tossing in my bathroom garbage where anyone can see or know I’m on my cycle..I’m super discreet..

I have had an IUD for the last 5 yrs because I'm on blood thinners and my periods were so so bad because of the blood thinners and the IUD stopped me from having bleeding during my menstrual cycle which is fantastic and I'm 51 so I'm not going to be having any more children so it was a great thing to not bleed anymore. Good hygiene is important for all women though even if you don't have a menstrual cycle, just being fresh and clean feels good. Thanks Fumi many younger women will benefit from your advice ❤

To emphasize my point, perhaps you can familiarize yourself with the model "Lauren Wasser" who lost her leg due to using a tampon. She also gives a personal interview on " stylelikeu", That presentation should tell you every thing. All women need to see this. You have such a powerful platform. Please help spread the word. I’m glad that I that I switched to a flex cup and cloth pads... Super allergic regular pads. End up with diaper rash and raw skin. (and acne breakouts too.)the tip you are giving are ,the same thing with cloth pads. I have most of my overnight ones in waterproof backing. I buy the biggest size that I can get, 12 to 15 inches. Very Expensive, however it is worth it to me. Great video.

Oh my Fumi, I love you. You remind me of myself. I am two years older than you. Hey Video Queen👸🏾💖 Love the tips. I'm 51and have a sporadic cycle but I ALWAYS have my period pouch ready. During my cycle, I actually wear pullups to bed🤨I place my pad in them and Bam, I'm ready🤩 There is also a disposal panty for periods. I'll get some when I run out of pullups😃 Stay Blessed and keep the videos coming.

I normally slip a pad and wipes inside the side of my bra when no one is looking. I am in a working environment full of men so I have to be strategic. I have a cute purse and all but people already know what's in "your purse".
