2022 is looking to be a big year for Neuralink and Elon Musk. The company recently announced human trials are near, and are gearing up after tests with a pig and monkey playing "mind pong". It's been called the “Fitbit in your head”, and its founder, Elon Musk, says that his electronic brain-computer interface is going to change the future.
This video will provide Dr. Dan Lieberman's review to all the news and updates on Neuralink and discuss the feasibility of this new technology.

Privacy went extinct back in 2001 , but now we’re talking about server holding the information to your emotion , ideas , dreams and secrets (which aren’t secretas anymore even if you don’t have a chip inside your skull”)

In a crazy coincidence, my uncle John Darnton wrote a book many decades ago called the experiment. It was actually a scenario exactly as you’re describing. Check it out. He’s an amazing writer and a Pulitzer Prize winner.

why anyone would want to put what is essentially a wifi chip in thier brain that lets them neurologically interact with computers is beyond me....because thats a two way street,if it can transmit information that means it can recieve it to. and you wont always know where that info is coming from,how easy would it be for an experianced hacker being able to remote-alter one of these chips?

@@BestPracticeHealth honestly i think there has to be a line drawn...that sometimes mankind just needs to say "lets not" ....even if it comes at the cost of halting advancement, be it scientific, medical or otherwise. as cynical as this sounds human history has shown we have a longstanding trackrecord of taking the best idea and persuing it to the worst ends be it as as a result of sinister motives,or simply not caring about the longstanding consequences. sometimes our inovation becomes our own worst enemy.

It’s mainly for disabled people, Such as people who are blind, deaf, can’t talk, can’t walk, can’t smell, and so on.

Musk is using it to control monkeys like remote control this is really insane they cant control AI outsiide a brain why wouuld this help us the AI would simply take ovver your brain and thats it we are done

I think there's a bit of hand waving here talking about the Sixth Sense etc. My impression is that we don't understand enough about consciousness and the role it plays with neural function to really know for sure some of the things he's claiming. For instance are we sure that fine motor control is a iterative corrective process and not something more akin to a cognitive subroutine that gets executed by your nervous system and muscles? Looks like I need to do a deep dive on neuroscience

Great thought! Neuroscience is really rewarding. If you really want to dive deep start with Kandel and Schwartz Principles of Neuroscience. It's a foundational text and very well written.
