I was going too contact you when you mentioned you were thinking about getting a metal excavator. Unless you wanting to spend 2,300+. This rig is a awesome rig for the dollar. There are a lot of upgrades out there for this including quick release buckets etc and you can even get the hydraulic version if you want too spend about 1000$. Working on my grand hauler now 🤓

Thanks Nickster I totally agree as far as a reg avg everyday Rc enthusiasts to enjoy this model in its price range.. this is the holly grail of what I’ve owned and would I’d like to spend in my construction line of excavators.. I could never imagine spending 3/6 thousand dollars on a Excavator. Unless I was like Rc sparks who gets his at major discount or feee all together for advertising. I’d rather spend the $30 and go buy a shovel and start digging lol..I am now trying to get this darn transmitter and excavator to bind 😬 haven’t got it up and running yet..

Yea talk about all hell breaking loose when the kids get ahold of them..Mom walks into their rooms and kids and I are running a tight ship, like a full blown construcion site.. Tearing up lego creations hauling them off in dump trucks, timed pick up challenges lol.. But not this bad boy it will tear up the wood floor for sure..If not tryed construction rc's you need too.. Each one has its own purpose and a blast too run..

Thanks man its a monster no joke build solid.. I actually ordered it on amazon prime 8-) I think there was like one or two left in USA? The servo drive gears are like twice the size of regular ones and all metal casings.. Only thing I found plastic so far is the hoses and the side mirror on cab.. Other than that all metal..Im impressed havent fired it up yet my I have watched what it can do.. dig lol...

sounds like you motor is pumping yet the ellement is burt out? its a very thin peice of wire that lays across the cotton. I havent ran my unit to often to go through refills due to weather etc.. but I also have a secound smoke box for other projects I purchased..

@@thatsmyrc Yea by the time I check it. The wire that come across is pretty much gone. I didn't know that it was going to burnup on me.

@@thatsmyrc I been trying to figure that part out. Last time I added too much and the heating element got all orange and burned out. Mostly, I should have just removed the top cover and heating element out of the way. I took out a fuse on the main board which I have to go remove. Just don't know if I have the right one. Harder then hell to read a fuse that would be the size of a fly's backpack! I think they are soldered on. I did the coil effect, and maybe should have done a line straight across and lightly soldered each side. I don't know how they actually do it?

Get rid of the smoke box as this will allow you to fit a bigger battery, that's what i have done.

Just check out toprace.com it’s in the USA so called? I’m not sure on which is better now there are so many company’s out there it seems like the same unit under different names. I’ve even seen these In White now under another name? I have sold this unit off but it was a very nice unit for the price. Just moving up.

Hey King thanks for checking video out and commenting. This is a great excavator for its price range. As you’ve seen I have all the plastic models as well. When those models are modified w/ stronger systems offered for lift curl drive etc they are capable as well for less. But this model is much heavier and have more power than the modified plastic models. It’s all on where you want to start or spend. The hydraulic version of the metal is pretty nice of what I hear from ones that have it. More power than electric metal version yet cheeper than a 1/12 scale I which price will easily double and then so does the power of that model. I myself will likely jump from this version here in which I’ve sold to the 1/12 version hopefully this yr. only because it’s size of 1/12 will go more with the current line up I have. Long story short all is fun, and yes you’ll enjoy this model at the price I was happy with it. Hope this helps if need more info I’ll try to help best I can

Thanks for checking video out. Your going to love the rig. There are many options and upgrades available out now. I just purchased my stickers off of eBay. I think I searched under Huina cat stickers or 1/14 Rc excavator cat stickers. I think mine came out of Germany. You’ve got a cool channel that moose was awesome just hanging out there lol

On eBay you can find Huina full metal excavators anywhere from $400-500 usd the toprace in which I have I haven’t searched for recent pricing. They are pretty much same thing but I hear differently also? People have said toprace is better? I have no idea and had no issues with mine.

@@yianni3251 I mean they look virtually identical. If it's the same machine with different stickers, that'd be great. I found a Huina 1580 on eBay for $480. But, I'd rather pay more for better quality, performance, etc. So far the Huina 1580 seems to be the benchmark for RC excavators that aren't hydraulic.

Yea thanks for asking it was a bad transmitter like I originally thought. I had it up and running as soon as toprace sent me a new one aprox a week.. other than that haven’t really dug up much with it due to crappy winter weather bust soon I’ll be out with it 👍🏼

sorry for delya man been slammed with family duties.. the rig is awesome but I havent had a chance to get too use it much outside. weather crappy now raining for next 2weeks..but I checked magom's web page and I saw that they are going to offer this package with hydrolics for $1g now that would be a killer deal.. this toprace is solid as a rock heavy as hell yet in hydrolic form at that price would be amazing..I seen other people do it.. I know magom sells good stuff..

This is the 580 metal version the 1580 is plastic version less power also. Not sure what’s the difference between Huina and top race but some say top race is the better of two? Also top race has US home base? Yet so does every China company too now days lol

Interesting. By description, the 1580 is still an all metal machine, or so it seems as I look around. From what I have seen, it is the 550/1550 that is the plastic one with gear drives in the arms, so less power. I will keep looking, though, and see what more Incan find out. As for which is better, Top Race certainly has a better description of the machine and more marketing info out there with more talk about features that would be appealing.

lol they throw so many #’s out there to confuse people anymore. Just make sure what ever you get it would have metal tracks. Then you’ll know the body is metal and so on. Both the metal versions and the plastic versions are nice. For the money great metal version. For the price plastic definitely won’t be happy with power unless you were too upgrade to servo screw drives 360 rotation and servo drive gears. At that you’ll take a $60 excavator and spend maybe twice that too get it complete so your the. Looking at a good plastic semi hobby grade with plastic body and slightly rubber tracks without your knowledge and time to convert. Or the metal one is tough as nails much more power metal tracks metal body smoke unit options even later on to go hydraulic if wanted for aprox $250 difference. I own entirely line up of Huina excavators and while the upgraded plastic versions are nice but the sheer weight etc of the metal version is the cats Meow over the two choices.

Oh ok, the servos have treated me real good no issues, I have had a stop button stick once but was able just simply release it. They are strong enough for what the rig is which for the price a very nice rig

Have you checked your limited switches they can get stuck

Look at each ends of the boom there is a very small black button. Some times that button once pushed in will Get caught up on slight angle which causes the switch not to release. Then causes the boom not function Soto the power is shut off to the section of boom by the safety switch: cut off switch. Reason for the switch is it protects the motors from over extending damaging them. (External limited switches is what the excavator has. Now if it is the lower boom acting up which it happen to me once I had to remove the top body to release the pin on that boom to get to the lower switch because of its location. If I’m remembering this all correctly? It’s only happened once and that what some time ago

Thanks man you are correct my mistake I’m fixing it now. But This top race excavator won’t work. The transmitter will not bind with the excavator. Tried everything possible and I am not taking apart a brand new unused excavator I just payed close to $600.. it’s not my problem and I have no doubt that tomorrow when top race opens business they will take care of the issue..I would like to get the 583 as well but this minor set back has got me skeptical 🤨
