also i think gachapon is a good way to get souvenirs or gifts for yourself or friends and family because you can find almost ANYTHING! You defiantly can find something in a gachapon machine

The cheapest gift you can bring back and is appreciated only costs 5 yen, and no extra tax (unlike 100 yen stores where things are really 108 yen)... 5 yen coins!! And they're even better if you can get them with the year of birth of who you're giving it to. I gave one as a birthday gift to a friend and she made it into a necklace, wore it everyday.. and wore it out! After a couple of years I had to give her another one! Set me back another 5 yen! Well, that's my 2ct.. er.. 5yen.

The 5 yen coin also holds spiritual value because "goen" (5 yen) also means "goen" (ご縁 = fate.) That is the reason many people throw 5 yen coins into the things at the shrines.

Thats a really good guide, i think i bought 90% of my souvenirs from these 3 shops. said by someone who lived in japan for a while xD and luckly all these three shops are found within 200m in shibuya xD where every tourist will go to see the crossing for 20 seconds and then they dont know what do there, so souvenir shopping is a good idea

Most of the items in 100yen shops are made in Japan. Especially things like chopsticks.
