These are my picks for the ten most iconic motocross gear lines of all time. These picks are purely my opinion and I would love to know your own choices in the comment section below.
I have also done this list in podcast and written form over at PulpMX.com with Steve Matthes and me debating my choices. Here is a link to both formats if you would like to check out what Matthes thought of my picks.

After watching this and a quick search... I learned that AXO no longer offers gear in the US....That's hard to believe.. AXO was huge. Shift gear was pretty dope when it first come out. Emig looked incredible in it on the Kawi

Same for me. I love going to Vons every month and finding a new issue of motocross action magazine. I would look through it 3 times over that same day. Bailey, johnson, wardy, lechien were/are gods to me. And Props to Fox Gear. They managed to endure so many years of mx/sx and never had a dull year. And to top it off, they are still crushing it and still in my opinion, blazing the trail.

My parents bought me the 91 AXO gear in the blue, pink, and black for my 8th grade graduation. It's still my favorite but love the 92 as well. My friend had the spider web fox gear. Bradshaw was our hero.

I had that lates 80s JT year and early 90s AXO. Those JT gloves were awesome, especially in tight trails when you were getting whacked with branches. Great video.

Love how all this looked in those years. I was hooked on dirt bikes when i got put on an xr50 in 2005. I would watch terra firma and that film "FLY" and fox greatest hits over and over. That late 90s period will always be special

Again...yet ANOTHER awesome show by the legend Tony 👍 Yep, you picked all the exact gear I picked..the best years imo was all the gear from 1988 to 1995 as these are the years they started to match more closely their race gear colours with manufacturer/bike colour, like top half section of thighs same as your brand bike you ride. On ride days when stopping at fuel station, where when I wore my AXO gear sooo many people asked if was an official Kawasaki rider for KRT and mate was asked the same as he had Honda gear...making owners of the gear look like they were factory riders! 😁 Yes, totally agree with you, AXO was the best especially 1989-1994 gear, with rubber AXO on legs, it was clear, solid colours like top thigh and bold fonts..it was expensive, but easy to read lettering... THEN...from around 1996 many of the font styles all started to go more italic 'graphitti' type, like letters all joined with different colours mixed in making it harder to read and its just gone to sheet from then since with 'Scribble' type fonts... Australia 🇦🇺 in the 80/90s most popular that most riders had (cause it was cheap and we didnt have internet to buy other options) was a brand called - 'GO THE RAT'....where what is amazingly, the 80s gear is BACK 🎆🎉🎊🎉 search Go the Rat motocross gear or... gotheratracing.com and check it out later.. (not sure if posting their website is allowed, just thought was good as on topic) Again..well done on great vid...keep the vids coming, great work 👍👍👍 Re jersey, I 'think' it was in 1987 was the start of the mini holes in jerseys for airflow as I remember being told my jersy I got from the boss is extreemly rare as first of its kind in all of Australasia cause was only sent to dealerships for opinions..

I mowed lawns so I could get the 1992 AXO Gelprint Jersey (in purple and blue) with matching gloves just for riding BMX around town. I had to detassle corn for a season for the BMX bike.

Hi Tony. Love the choices. I would have added 1986 O’Neal Bullet, 90s Thor Typhoon 2003 Thor Core and JT retro 2000s release. I am huge fan of Troy Lee gear 2003 especially. Great video. Thanks!!!!!

About 15 years ago or so, my mum got me a Ocelot gear combo for Christmas. After having Fox, MSR, and Answer, the Ocelot was actually quite impressive for budget gear. The boots left a little to be desired, not being steel toe, but everything else was fine.

Agreed wtih you on the late 80 jt stuff, the late 90 shift, no fear was awsome, and mid 00 thor. I like Fly stuff too of that era. All gear from 2000-10 was ok imo.

2 strokes make it affordable for most to get into the sport and it was more 'home grown' and not like today where it is like nascar (sport drinks and the same numbering system) all causing the sport to decline.

You missed all the awesome JT gear from 1980 through 1985. Also Fox and Answer gear around the same time period. The late 80s and 90s gear suck compared to what came before the Cosby sweater puke era. I'm sorry you had to miss the good stuff. For example, Johnny O' in the white Answer gear. Nothing better!

Tony man. I have been refining my idea of shirts with the bikes we had ion our lives printed on them, and may have refined the idea a bit. 1st. You design the layouts of the shirts, depending on how many bikes the guy has owned, (maybe give the customer a choice of layouts). 2nd. You offer a variety of shirts/pull overs, and maybe even jackets, (top quality made in the USA. Like I said, supporting communism is bad). 3rd. We pick the shirt(s), layout and give you a list of the bikes we owned, and e-mail you the decisions and bike information and quantity. 4th. you e-mail back with a quote, and a way to pay you with out using a third party. I only want to do business with you man. :) I thought of a name for them that is pretty good, "Your Legacy Shirts", or something like that. This is just not a shirt with a bike in a truck, (which are very cool). This is the memories of every bike you had, and we would hate to lose them. :) "Get your legacy shirts today! It's totally you man." :)

It is my idea, and I gave it to you, (or who ever sees it here), for no charge. But if it takes off, setting me up with a few of my legacy memories would be cool. :)

Man you're freaking choices are so skewed by the era you started riding in. I literally am just smiling ear to ear with every choice you pop up on the list. It's funny how our style choices get solidified very early on. I still got buddies who wear the same baggy ass pants from high school pushing 40 years old. It's no different with this list. I got started way late, I'm an 80-90s kid. I remember growing up everything was neon colored. Hell my skateboard had pink wheels. I still get an eclectic sense of nostalgia every time I see the color matched with a neon green or blue. I'm not pulling the wool over my eyes though, I know how terrible it looks lol. Its some of the busiest damn riding gear I've ever seen 🤣. Compare it to some of the new fly racing gear from this year and it's night and day. It's almost guaranteed to do well though because even though I've only been in this scene for about a year now, I noticed the majority of people pushing the sport forward are older gentleman. It has to be that way when a brand new bike cost $13,000. F****** insane. They wondering why the sport is dwindling, as a new Rider that's it for me right there. $13,000 is new litre bike money. If I didn't have the dirt bug so bad I wouldn't even have started this hobby, that's a huge deterrent even as a 39-year-old man with money.

$18,000 is new literbike money. Welcome to dirt bikes. A new YZ250 is around $8,000. Getcha some.

@@Jimmy_Watt Ive been on a lower powered 250 4 stroke for about a year now. DEFINITELY going 2 stroke this time around. That $13k price was what the Honda dealer wanted out the door for the 2022 250R. You're not paying anything close to sticker price out the door on new bikes. I just spent the money on a few used bikes and brought em back to like new. Got a litre bike (Fireblade), 250CC MX bike and a Honda fifty for my daughter in the last 10 months. All for less than the price of one new dirt machine. Hell yeah brotha, I've been getting after it since I found the dirt. Everyday!

The Peacock LTD ad at the beginning, (a local dealer of mine), now that is great industry advertising. But I bet YT still pays you for it, because I am sure you did not find those guys for me alone. I don't like 3rd party commies. They really don't deserve a profit. :) Ahhhhh--we will understand-------eventually.

LBZ is definately top with a lot still made in USA. Stop supporting these "companies" that just sell you Chinese and Twainese clothing at x10 cost. Sellouts. Tony Blazier this is trash

I am talking about gear that was made 30 years ago. The newest gear on my list is 15 years old. This has nothing to do with where gear is made today and half of these companies don't even exist anymore.
