In this video, we are going to share with you a Yosemite National Park Travel plan that would be perfect for a 1-day visit. These recommendations are based on our frequent visits to these parks. We live just 2 hours from Yosemite, and we have hiked tons of trails here, but for today's video, we are only sharing the easy, short, and accessible things you can do in Yosemite if you only have a day or two to spend in the park.
Video Chapters:
00:00 Intro
00:26 Reminders Before You Visit Yosemite
01:43 Yosemite South Entrance Gate
01:54 Wawona Tunnel and Tunnel View
03:13 Bridalveil Fall
03:47 Yosemite Valley Scenic Drive
03:57 Finding a parking spot in Yosemite
04:50 Lower Yosemite Falls
06:01 Exploring Yosemite Valley
07:28 Happy Isles, Mist Trail, Vernal and Nevada Falls
08:22 Exploring Yosemite Village
09:23 El Capitan Meadow
09:54 Exploring Valley View
10:24 Exploring Glacier Point
11:44 Ending
But before we start, here are some reminders before you go.
1.) The entrance fee is $35.00 per vehicle, $30.00 for motorcycles, and $20.00 if by foot or on a bike.
2.) Due to covid, a reservation is required to enter Yosemite between May 20 to September 30 of 2022. They will make you turn around if you don't have a reservation.
Get your Yosemite reservations here: www.recreation.gov
Don't worry, you can still visit the park without a reservation, BUT you must arrive at an entrance station (except Hetch Hetchy) before 6 am or after 4 pm. This could change after covid, so make sure to check updates before going.
3.) We highly recommend using the free shuttle to get around Yosemite Valley. Parking fills throughout Yosemite by mid-morning. So, come early, find a parking space, and plan to leave your vehicle there for the remainder of the day as you will likely have a hard time finding another parking spot.
4.) Make sure to wear shoes with good support and can withstand lots of walking around Yosemite Valley. There are over 750 miles of trails to explore, so your shoes need to be up to the challenge.
5.) Phone signals are in and out, so make sure to download all the details that you need to get around, including maps and itineraries.
6.) Bring snacks and lots of water. Keep yourself hydrated at all times.
7.) And most of all, enjoy your visit. Start early, and make sure to check for road updates before going as road closures can happen.
This travel plan starts from the South Entrance along Highway 41. This will be your closest entrance if you are coming from Los Angeles or the San Diego area.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment down below. Thank you again for watching our video. God bless.
Best regards,
Daniel and Maria

2023 UPDATE FOR YOSEMITE VISITORS: "Reservations will not be required to visit Yosemite National Park during the summer of 2023. Reservations were required in the summers of 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic and in the summer of 2022 when numerous key visitor attractions were closed for critical infrastructure repairs." Hi Nicolas, thank you for watching our video. You can bring pretty much any food you want, it all comes down to your packaging. Hello. The lower Yosemite Falls trail is a loop. It will take you back to the same bus stop. Honestly, we have been to Yosemite more than 10 times and we have only seen one bear, a baby one, from a distance. I have heard some people seeing Bears around the Swinging Bridge, but they don't really do anything. Just be cautious and never approach the bears or any animals just to be safe.

That sounds cool. We saw bikers last weekend also. I personally think it is easier to drive around Yosemite with motorcycle as it is faster to find a parking. How was the park in 1988? Lots of visitors too? (Maria)

I first set my feet at YSMT in 1973 when I was single. Of course time changed everything for better or worse depends on how U look at it. I'm 75 years old now but still in awe of YSMT and still going there almost every year with my wife, our kids and our kid's kids. We hopelessly in love with this place!

Did you do this in one day?

Hi, Melissa. Yes, we have done this in one day. You can squeeze all of these in a 12 hour window if you won't hike all the way to the top of the Nevada Falls.

What's a good time to be there (at the entrance) to see all in this video?
@TheWorldCruisers
@TheWorldCruisers Жыл бұрын
We will be honest with you, we usually get there by the gate before 5am as the drive to the Tunnel View takes about an hour. That gives us enough time to see the sunrise and proceed to the other locations.

@@TheWorldCruisers Arrived at 8:45am. I was able to complete everything in the same order of video. Instead of getting off at shuttle stop 15, get off at stop 16, which is right in front of the mist trail.

What a shame this place has become just a mobbed tourist attraction. Wish I had been able to get there in the 80’s but that was a dream I couldn’t financially afford to do back then.

When you go during winter time, there's less people. But true, Yosemite is getting crowded and that's why we always go there very early to avoid the crowd.

@@SticksAandstonesBozo We always go there before sunrise, regardless of the season. We sometimes get there at 5am. We usually wait for the sunrise at the Tunnel, then explore the park after. That's the best way to avoid the crowd. Big crowds start arriving around 9am towards 2pm, that's what we observed. Are you riding your bike when you go there?
