In this Costa Rica Travel Vlog we will show you around the town of La Fortuna, take you to La Fortuna Waterfall, El Salto, Mistico Hanging Bridges, down to Lake Arenal, as well as to Mirador el Silencio where we get up close to the Arenal Volcano. You could spend weeks in La Fortuna and not even do everything there is to do in this area of Costa Rica. It is definitely a stop you need to put on your list when you travel to Costa Rica. Caterpillars are magical creatures! They gorge on Mother Nature's greenery until one day, recognizing they've had enough, they flip upside-down and in that state of suspension built a chrysalis. From that "meditation zone" they undergo a complete transformation that equips them with wings! So the "lowly" crawler becomes a magnificent, graceful creature of flight. Change your perspective on this one, Heidi! (In a children's book I wrote using insects to depict the 12 Zodiac signs, I picked the Butterfly for Libra... but remember, before the wings comes the caterpillar!) Have fun you two adorable lovebirds!

Very beautiful there, the waterfall is really pretty. Willie is interesting looking for sure! Wow, an iguana swimming by Heidi, the sloth, frog and bee hive are cool, those spider monkeys were so cute. You guys are so blessed to be enjoying all of the nature there, amazing.

The hanging bridges hike is one of my favorite CC site-seeing hikes so far. I think there've been so many great Country Collectors hikes that they can actually be categorized. Meeting-the-ftown hikes, siteseeing hikes, secret beach hikes, heroic and inspiring moutain climbing hikes, etc. The variety of wild life that just chills out there inches and feet from the trail is incredible!

Loved La Fortuna. The locals were super nice there and we were in town for Holy Week so there were tons of Costa Ricans on vacation. My daughter made so many friends , some which didn’t even speak English, it was amazing ❤

Love your videos...just found you! 20+ years ago, me & my Costa Rican husband, on our first trip together, stood @100 yds away from the Arenal volcano, for hours! It rumbled, a touch of lava flowed out each time, and we got little black rocks in our hair, every 15 min or so...Wow! Us & one other couple on their honeymoon.. can't do that now! C.R has become adult eco-Disneyland; Amazing! What a great job they've done!! We like your descriptions & attitude in your videos; ps; fellow Californians👍👣🌞

La Fortuna is a absolute great place. The Water fall is usually not as heavy, you should be able to swim out 1/2 way across . You did Mistico at the right time early in the morning.

This just might be one of my favorite videos❤ Costa Rica is definitely on my to do list. Heidi...as much as I love nature and caterpillars I too had a painful encounter. In New Orleans my friends and I were on a lawn enjoy a concert and a friend came and hugged me tight...unbeknownst to me he squished a spiny caterpillar into my arm....OUCH...it was like fire. Long story short, I had a scare for at least 6 months and now I'm very cautious. Can't wait to here your story. Have fun you two and can't wait for more adventure😂❤

I made from my passion my work( i m a travel agent). I ll be in Costa Rica next match 2024 with a small group. Thank you for all of your tips . Great job again guys! Just want mention for those traveling without car there is also Uber in the area alot cheaper then the red taxis so if your on a tight budget that can help. They will even drop you off and pick you up by national park and Volcan.

Thanks for sharing! We did take an Uber too. I was going to mention it but I don’t know I guess because of the clashes between Uber and the local taxi guys in so many countries I didn’t… and Uber seems to be “illegal” in this area? It’s in a gray area. I read that after we took one… I’m not sure though. You know better than we do!
