It's amazing to see AMC doing well after all the doomsday analyses from naysayers. The stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient - warren buffet. It's good to remind people of this right now; you buy on fear and sell on greed or just hold through it all for the long term. It’s easy but lots of people forget.

Been in Tagaytay 25 years ago and it's now too populated and to near a active volcano. Been in Mactan, Cebu about 15 years ago and same. Traffic was terrible, too many people there. So since 10 years ago I'm living in Bukidnon: Better cooler climate than Tagaytay, lots of nature and less population. No active volcanoes, no floods, and abundance of fresh water and food. There are no safety issues and the Living cost could hardly be lower.

Good job! Well done and informative Video! I liked how you chose 3 different characteristics of locations. I am sure there are other places to retire to in the Philippines but these maybe the most important ones. Also I liked how you broke down basically the most important informations including cost of living in the different places. Apart from that I find it interesting that a young guy like you makes a video for people in their retirement age. But as I said, well done.

Angeles City should be in top 3 if not #1. Not just because of the most entertainment, girls come from every province to work there, largest waterpark in Asia, 2nd largest airport in PI, fastest growing business area in PI, new train connecting Manila-Angeles- Subic. There is more things to do BY FAR in and around Angeles. Many ex-pat live there, join clubs, has the highest history for Americans, 1 hour to Subic, Pinatubo, only 2 hours to MANILA, 3 hours to Bagio. It is the Center most place to be in PHILIPPINES.

@@dongshengdi773 with the maximum retirement pension of 1,200 a month. Most canadians won't be able to afford to retire here in Canada. Because $1,200 won't even be enough for rent in Vancouver and Toronto. BTW Toronto is a dump. People here work through their 70s until their bodies give up so they can save for retirement So it's good that Filipinos have the option to retire in PH where 1,200 isn't much but it will at least cover the basics

Very informative. You have a new subscriber! I would personally recommend Cebu City. Tagaytay is ok but the idea of living within miles of a recently active volcano is scary. I hear Duma being a small city is now 'congested ' with expats. Cebu City will give you all the finer things in life (including fast Internet connection) without leaving a hole in your pocket.

Explore Mindanao as well. Zamboanga del Sur, del Norte have some cool places as well and easy, simple living with no water supply issue like in Luzon. House helper is getting not as cool as said as many from the provinces, because of social media, look for greener pasture. Trust issue is a real issue these days wherever you are. Still, just check on this, mindanao has many equally great potential retirement places.

I think Dumaguete will be a good retirement place for those who are in the mid-60s to 70s+. For expats (among the 3 top places for retirement for expats). Cebu City will be more attractive as it is more cosmopolitan with more modern amenities, yet near the nice beaches and resorts. Actually, it really depends on your lifestyle. It's good you touched on the budget, cost of living.

@@TheSavvyExpat Hey Even, Well not that I've explored many places in the Philippines yet, I will say this of Iloilo it's a really nice little city, it's got great malls, restaurants, beaches beautiful scenery if you if you head out into the Island to some of the more romote areas like Capiz which I love it's really beautiful up there about an hour from the city. You're also close to Boracay and Gamaras Islands, Gamaras is supposed to be wonderful during Mango season, great resorts both islands as well as around the Island of Panay in general. As far as living, things are on the cheaper side being your away from Luzon probably similar to what you'd find in Duma. Seems to have great dental and medical care there from what my wife tells me thankfully I've not had to make use of that yet during our visits. There's also quite a bit of really nice gated communities popping up near Iloilo city. Definitely worth future expats to visit and consider as a potential retirement place. Can't wait to get back and vlog from there. There's a lot more to Panay, it's definitely a hidden gem I'd say. Take care, God bless! 🕊️

If you are still young and active and want to go to beaches , mountains and want active night life .. then Cebu City is the place. If you are older and want quiet night life with amenities and services close by then Dumaguete or even Cagayan or Davao would fit. It depends on individuals really. I am from Cebu but if i pick a place in Cebu it's probably the Mactan area close to the beach which also happens to be few minutes close to the airport. It's more quiet than living close to Metro Cebu which the traffic is a nightmare.

Good to know, originally Cebuano but I like the other islands after exploring them eg. Leyte, Bohol, Negros or Panay.... But Cebu and Negros fits the best because of the airports. Health Care wise I believe there's a 2 JCI accredited hospitals in two islands otherwise most are in Manila... I hope Philippines follows the lead of Thailand and have more JCI accredited hospitals (Thailand has 20+ I believe like Turkey) Also streamline the Fintech infrastructure or online payments to allow more International Health Insurance like Pacific Cross to be more accessible. Me and my White Canadian Fiance want to live in a homestead there but I don't want to be a fool without having $ invested for Health Care

How about doing a video for those considering retiring in the provinces! I live in the provinces in a small fishing community 100km south of Cebu City. We built our nice little house on land we got from my wife's family. Total cost was about 300,000 pesos ($5400USD). Now there is no rent, we eat simple Filipino food, and live comfortably on 30k pesos ($540USD) per month. There are completely different dynamics but it is an option for many.

Once there, my son will build a house, but I'd like to move on my own, and have been researching for months places like Cebu and Dumaguete, and Iloilo city area. Now I'll research the Tagaytay area. Being I'm already 72, I'd like to be able to get to medical assistance if needed, so close to good hospitals would be a determining factor. keep up the good work. much appreciated.
