I felt that one i was doing that for a while but it was shows like this one that just made me think man im rlly setting myself up to work till i die. I had managed not to take on much student debt at all im talking less than 10k total but i was living like my credit cards would never need to be paid. Biggest thing is you do all this “cool” shit think your living the life and your miserable never been happier than i am now w my pup and relatively frugal lifestyle. And its weird because the only aspect of my life i really splurge on now is on whatever i get my dog i dont just buy fancy stuff i worked at an animal hospital and just buy what i learned was best. I would do stuff i had no business doing before things some ppl dream of just swiping my card and never felt anything but when i buy my dog a new toy its the best feeling ever and knowing im not fucking myself over is always nice!

She knows, she just wants to believe him, because she is a good person (thinks what she would do and assumes others are the same) and does not want to face divorce. My mom also believes to this day her first husband went to a class reunion for a whole weekend, where only the old flame ended up showing up. They got a divorce due to other reasons.

Agreed. She is in denial. She is is having some doubts because she can't believe that someone she trusts would betray her like that but she knows logically that what he is telling her is not making sense. I don't think she is stupid either. I think she is totally in denial. She knows her world is going to be turned upside down, and she is just hoping and praying that her husband is actually having sleepovers but she knows. I feel for her. I think she called Dave Ramsey because she needed to hear confirmation, about what she knew and she knew he would tell it like it is. SHe is being gaslight big time.

@@violettippet5246yes, as you say it is denial and having doubts. Her story is very similar to mine. 2 years ago, my wife at the time was reconnecting with an old flame from the late 90s. He was supposedly deathly ill, an ex-felon, living in the woods out of town like 1 hour away and went to rescue him and they started staying in hotels together and all of her stuff (except for a couple armfuls of clothing stayed at the house for 11 months. After she left, I was in denial for a while until someone had to shake me out of it. Her family was all sorts of upset with her and supported me morally. I tried to save the marriage but after 8 weeks i realized it wasn't going to change. I filed for separation and then for divorce a year later. Well, the guy just died from cancer a few weeks ago.

In reference to story #3, I recognize myself in this woman's situation. She mentions that she put her husband through school, that she manages the budget and it sounds like she's been the responsible one throughout this relationship. It has been a major investment. You can hear that she's all sorts of turned around trying to make sense of her situation. The reason it doesn't make sense, isn't because it doesn't actually make sense. It's because you're trying to reconcile that fact that this other person is not concerned about you like you are them. I'll say that again for anyone in a similar situation that needs to hear it. They DON'T care about you. You are a comfort and a convenience, not a person they love. Your relationships is/was a one-way street. At this point, the hardest thing to do is going to be letting go of the sunken cost; which is a fallacy. Cut your losses, because people like this do not change. They certainly cannot change when the situation that allows them to continue does not change. Let them go or kick them out. Save yourself. Your future self will thank you, I promise.

Even if it's $370K in 20 years, 20% forgiven on a 1099 tax form is only about $70K in IRS taxation. Then get that on payment plan and have another $40K ready to pay the bulk. Make that $40K through a couple rehab, flips, and rentals. Oh yeah, and probably have made another $40-$80K over the previous 10 years before that 10 year save, and oh yeah, have the equity of several properties.

I feel bad for the lady who's husband is sleeping over at ex girls house. Her self esteem gets demolished while his gets built up because he is getting away with it. Sadly, I've been in a similar situation when I was younger, my wife somehow convinced me that it was OK for her to have an online boyfriend. She was in love with because they had never met. Today it sounds absolutely absurd and I am ashamed of myself for allowing that to go on. As your self-esteem goes down further and further, you start to put up with more and more. I finally worked up the courage to get a divorce. I went through a lot of pain but a few years later, I am single and the happiest I have ever been in my adult life. ❤ when you're happiness is totally dependent on another person especially someone who doesn't care about you. It will never end well now my happiness comes from within, and of course, my doggies. ❤

At 14, I was begging my mom for money. That poor kid was robbed by his way older brother. When someone says they've started "many" businesses...that's not impressive. You just keep failing in the same way. My brother-in-law does this. Always great ideas and products but something always happens and he looses everything.

I'm not clear that calling people who's hearts and lives have been broken "stupid" is a productive thing to do. It certainly is lacking in compassion. Not to mention, she's in denial. How do people get in denial? Thought processes such as "I've always been a fairly intelligent person, so therefore I am not being cheated on". So go on and call her stupid, you're just setting yourself and anybody reading you up to be the next person to figure "I'm smart, so I must be incapable of being fooled in love".
