Both of those sound amazing. I have yet to ever try a Springbank Local Barley so I'm envious of that bottle. I have tried the Longrow Pinot Noir 15 and just received another sample of it which I'm thrilled to get to try again because I agree, it was really quite good. Cheers dj 🥃

All three of the whiskies you mentioned are staples on my whisky shelf and would be bottles I'd replace quickly should they ever run out, in particular the PC10 and Sanaig. Hey Donner Pass! I have samples of the TB/BSW, SRV5 and the Maclean's Nose that I've been working through thanks to a friend. honestly I'd buy bottles of all three but only Maclean's nose is available here. On first pass the TB/BSW was the winner for me. The rich sherried notes were phenomenal and the malt content seemed high. I had heard the tales of 12 year Macallan and could very well see that being the case. I found the finish on the 2nd pass to be shorter than the other 2 but I really feel like it's a toss up down to personal preference when it comes to these three whiskies. My preference has been towards peat in the last month. But I do still yearn for a bottle of that TB/BSW. I plan to do a three way competition with these 3. I don't know if blind makes sense because they are all so different that they'll still be identifiable, but we'll see. I totally get what you're saying about Ledaig 18 as it would come off far more "Ledaig-y" if they'd kept it in bourbon. I have a 17 year old G&M ex-bourbon and that is exactly what I found. Still, the 18 as is has been a pleasure for me. All great stuff. Happy New Year Donner Pass. Cheers eh 🥃

And you bring up the crux of the issue with Springbank and awards lists: How do we recognize excellence without becoming too repetitive. I think the OSWA's did a good job by introducing the treble award this year where if someone wins three years in a row they receive a special award the next year while sitting the category out to let someone else shine. Really good to hear you stocked up on the G&M Highland Park, what an excellent whisky. I enjoyed the North Star Campbeltown 8 year old in the wee toon and can confirm that it tastes just as good in Campbeltown as it does here. Your last comment about the Chichibu has me excited as I still have my sample ahead of me to try, and it will be my first introduction to the distillery. That NAS 30 is quite remarkable, though I didn't quite fully appreciate on my first taste, but the 2nd and 3rd I was having some major regrets on missing a bottle. That SB 12CS is phenomenal. I will say the nose is a bit tight, but the palate is incredible and entirely makes up any lost ground. Just pure, raw and elemental Springbank. Happy new year man 🥃

I've some incredible reviews of Dram Mor Amontillado Inchfad releases and they seem to probably the best thing they release. They sound incredible. Seen multiple 90% scores. And truthfully, one of my best whiskies of my trip to Scotland was a 1996 Springbank Amontillado cask. So I'm a big fan now of that cask type. All together great pick! Happy New Year man! Cheers 🥃

yeah the HP 40 was exceptional and it was in a tasting with a Brora 35, Ladyburn 1973, Brechin 28, Mortlach 22 and a 25yr old cask strength Port Ellen. Pretty stiff competition to rise to #1 on that tasting haha. cheers@@whiskyonthewestcoast

I've heard alot of great things about that particular Deanston 2002 Organic Oloroso. Glad you are able to get a backup if you need/want, even if it is at an unmentionable price 😅 Really appreciate the offer to source a bottle from where you are.
