No one plays like Gary Moore. No one could make a Les Paul sound like it's being abused terribly, but enjoying the attention at the same time. RIP Gary Moore.

can you imagine someone today reaching this level of artistry and fame just for the fact he or she is talented and has something to give/add to the world of music?!?! Impossible

As a child I had guitar lessons for a couple of years and I wanted to quit guitar playing. But one evening, I was going upstairs to my room.. But just before I was leaving the living room 'pretty woman' started on the TV. I was frozen to the ground and focused on the TV.... Who is that guy and music. I want to learn that!! Never quit guitar playing!

I’ve always loved how Gary Moore can make that LP scream like no other. One of my top guitar influences 🙂

He could do it on a Strat or a Tele as well - it was Gary, not the guitar :)

This has to be the coolest performance ever The song choice, the location, the band, the suits, the hair, the guitar, the guitarist... You don't get much cooler than this.

I saw her for the first time in July 1980 standing in a queue in Karlovy Vary and I knew it at once. In december 1997 she turned 40yo and had the most perfect figure ever, Oh Pretty Woman indeed

When you've seen Gary play live you never forget it. When people of a certain age think of guitarists: it's usually Gary Moore, his arpeggios and his chord progressions. A literal virtuoso. When they think of guitars: it's the LP. A lot of the greats are still around, getting no credit or airplay any more in this sad era of identity politics.

Love to watch this man sing and play blues. A man with a guitar is automatically 10 times more sexy than a man without a guitar. I don't know why. It is what it is!! He was at the top of his game then on into the 90's.

If there is any justice in this world (which there isn't) - if you look up "musical virtuoso" in any reputable dictionary, you'll find Liszt, Chopin, Beethoven, in that order... ...and then there's Gary Moore. They knew he belonged among them, and they're smiling upon him.

Yea Heritage guitars are awesome 🔥 I've got a 2021 Heritage H150 standard in original sunburst. Stunning guitar. This one Gary is playing at the time Gibson moved factorys and some of the Gibson employees stayed at the Kalamazoo Michigan factory, and Heritage Guitar Inc was born. (In 1985) Heritage at the time then were using left over Gibson Les Paul body's and putting Heritage necks on them. Gibson sued Heritage over that, Heritage changed the lower horn carve on their guitars (only slightly tiny bit) so they didn't have a lawsuit against them and fast forward some years, here we are today. The quality of Heritage guitars are seriously good. If not better than the 2019 onwards Gibson Les Paul standards. I have a 2021 Gibson Les Paul standard 60s which is my main guitar I play at the moment. Heritage is not far from being the number 1 go to the more I play it.

Magic. Pure magic!! First time I heard this song I was driving to work. They didn't say who the performer was. So I went to a store and sang what I could remember and finally got it. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY HE DIDN'T PLAY ANY VENUES IN THE STATES? Would like to know. Just adore his facial expressions when he is playing a solo. Looks so happy. And I was deeply saddened when I learned of his untimely death. RIP, my friend.

He toured the states with Thin Lizzy and when their bass player passed away that stopped.

He extensively toured the states with Thin Lizzy in the 70s and his solo career in the 80s, during his hard rock/metal years. But it is weird he never toured the USA during his blues years. I have read that Gary did not like flying in a plane, so maybe that's part of the reason.
@rwarner06b03d3 ай бұрын
He appeared on the Dave Letterman show to perform Still Got the Blues in 1990 to help promote the album but i don't think he did any venues. I hate I didn't discover him until a couple of years ago....

I´d got the opportunity of seeing and listening to Ritchie live in Argentina long time ago, I´m also very fun of Deep Purple and can say that he´s maybe my favourite, but I think that Gary Moore could have play with Deep Purple as Steve Morse could. I also saw DP featuring him about 4 times.

As far as being one of the best technical guitarist's, I used to think of Ritchie Blackmore as that. But in my opinion now, no one, save the great Peter Green, had the mastery of the fret board as did the late great Gary Moore..RIP Player..

The tempo is a little bit faster than the original. It feels like the song loses a little bit of its soul. Need the Albert King to cool it down a little.
@scottbusby93212 жыл бұрын
I love Gary Moore’s jazz rock playing, and he he is a great rock player, no question. But blues? No, this isn’t blues. There’s no soul to it. If you want blues, listen to Jimmie Vaughan.
@asegal4677 Жыл бұрын
Jazz rock? You mean Blues Rock. I think this actually a pretty in-the-spirit-of-the-original rendition.
