@creationtools9541

@@lancewilliams3396 knowing what I know now, I'd simply prepare better. The installation is not difficult. You just need the right material to hand. I'm no more than a regular home diyer. My day job is desk based so there was definitely a learning curve here for me. That said, I've had past experience doing minor welding work so I was able to knock up some steadier brackets. But this was just a 'nice to have' addition rather than a necessity. If the opportunity came up again, I wouldn't hesitate to have a go.

Thanks for your video. I have two large wooden gates outside my house that i built myself but have often thought about putting electric openers on them. Can I ask if you know anything about how you would add a deadbolt to the gates. Ie. Bolt them to the ground or bolt one gate to the other. Would that destroy the opener if it tried to open the gates while they were bolted down.
@creationtools9541
@creationtools9541 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Adding a deadbolt would not destroy the actuator arms. When they sense resistance they stop opening/closing. I have a drop bolt on my installation. I use it only on windy days. I can post a video of my drop bolt installation if that would be helpful?

Hi there, I just finished the arms and switch box today, do you need to adjust the arm opening angel and do you need to config and remote control? Will try again tomorrow, have a lovely weekend. Tia

Hi, The arm angle can be configured but it might be okay as it currently is in the default configuration. Try it and see before attempting to adjust it. The remote will need to be programmed before use. I think it's explained in the instructions exactly how to do this. Let me know how you get on. If you need help, just let me know.

Thank you for your video A couple of questions are they noisy when operating I could hear a slight winey sound when operating ? Also if they were closed against a stop in the ground would the rams make the gates more secure ? Thanks
@creationtools9541
@creationtools9541 3 жыл бұрын
They definitely make a sound. I wouldn't say that they were annoyingly loud but you can certainly hear them from up to 10 metres away. I think a stop in the ground is a great idea. You do need something to ensure the gates do not move beyond the maximum extent of the actuator arms.

@@creationtools9541 hi If you put a stay on the floor the arms should push the gates against the stay with pressure stopping enough movement to some one pushing the gate open ? This saves fitting a lock

Does it have limit switches on the linear actuator, which you can adjust, so that you can control the angles of gate opening?
@creationtools9541
@creationtools9541 4 ай бұрын
There are no limit switches, but there are manually adjustable limit screws on the actuators. These can be used to set the range of movement.

Wonder how will the motor know when to stop, in absence of any electrical limit switches at the ends of the rod.

@creationtools9541

I don't think there's any reason why this wouldn't work. You would of course need solid posts and strong fixings on the gate.

Hi, Yes, I only set it up with the first button. You can set it up for all buttons to work but it would be pointless as they will all just perform the same function. The remote is a generic one, used for other systems that's why it has 4 in programmable buttons.

@creationtools9541
@creationtools9541 3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, The limits are set mechanically. Adjustments (stroke adjustment). This can be done easily on each of the actuators. The range of movement should be approx min 80° and max 110°. Ideally they should be level but truth be told, mine aren't 100% level. I've been running slightly off level for 8 months and so far no problems. But the instructions do say that it should be level. Hope this is of some help.

@creationtools9541
@creationtools9541 3 жыл бұрын
@@nassermughal2962 definitely possible. You can set up the first gate (master) independent to the second one (slave). But to be honest, the master gate is where all the hard work is and you can't install the slave gate without first installing the master. If you've got a good understanding of basic electrics and are confident installing the actuators, then I should think you'll be fine. I had never done anything like this before, but gave it a go after receiving a £500 installation quotation.
