Not for me, you wouldn’t buy an electric Rolex so why would you buy and electric Rolls Royce? The results may be similar but the mechanics of the electric options have no poetry. It feels calm and peaceful going along with the character of the car... unlike Mercedes which is just a confusing mess. We stare at the screen and are fed with more than enough content every day. Going by your comment in this scenario on not giving a shit about their power-plant then why didn't they go for an inline 4 for their products or something absurd or even Hybrid {surely they have some prototypes but not an actual production car on hybrid's} The thing is they care and that's why they don't give a shit on cost of their product what they really care about is Refinement and Quality control which for them even as a coach-builder's standpoint is Phenomenal, That's why they gave their mahoosive engines which don't pose in the name of BHP but they sure really are a Torque monster to pull that weight on an ICE power-plant that's why they also had a Rolls Royce with an V16 engine for a Bespoke vehicle so they give a shit about their, power-plant but not on cost to achieve that finesse and bespoke design and best Quality control overall, But on a lighter comedic note, If that's the case then would like to have Rolls Royce with a mini nuclear power reactor for cleanest and most efficient tech on the planet for green fuel,

i like everything about this except those headlights. I know that this is based on the bmw I7 platform, like the ghost is to the 7 series, but the Ghost has nothing on it that reminds you of the 7 series. The headlights from this look like they are pulled straight from the I7 and considering the price point I think it is a misstep to have one of the most identifiable traits of your car match that of the substantially cheaper and much more available BMW. Not like my opinion matters though I am very much not in the cars customer base lol

Another, Ollie, slam dunk review. While the Spectre is, without question, a revolutionary release for the brand, it is clear that RR wasn't ready to "tinker" too far (IMHO, far too safe). Yet, somehow, Ollie had me engaged to the end. Hats off, sir. As for the Spectre, it goes without saying that electric power and RR are a match made in heaven, especially as the help will be squandering hours charging it. With that said, they could have been more adventurous with the styling inside and out. Adventure can still be refined.

Not only is this apparently an awesome EV but it's also the best looking RR of recent times in my opinion. It has presence but avoids the brutishness of the Phantom, the weirdness of the Wraith and owners switching from Cullinans will be thankful they no longer have people waving at them from the sidewalk thinking their Uber has arrived. The Spectre has an elegance and restraint in the design language inside and out and all the better for it. Fab car and instant RR classic - I like it.... a lot !

Not sure I will be selling my current rolls and buying the electric version, but given how quiet a internal combustion engine is, electric seems to be the most logical move for Rolls Royce. Sad to hear the wheels sound clunky at low speed, I've not had that issue in my Ghost.

I think electric cars are a joke. I don't care what you say about emissions, nothing can beat the sound, the vibrations, the feel of a internal combustion engine, HOWEVER, this automobile is hands down the most elegant and beautifully sculptured luxury vehicle I've ever laid eyes on. Rolls Royce nailed it with this one. Although unobtainable for me, something i'll never get the pleasure of owning, this car alone gives me chills and joys I couldn't receive anywhere else.

Rolls has always been the best suited car for electrification. They’ve been trying to make their internal combustion engines mimic the silence and low end torque of electric motors for decades, they’re already incredibly heavy, and it’s one of the only cars where almost no one will ever take trips of more than 200 miles at a time.

What used to be impressive about Rolls Royce is how they took a big engine and made effortless refinement. There was something magical about that. With the switch to electric that usp is in danger. Refinement is much easier with electric motors. They will need to be careful with competition now

It has often been said that an electric motor in a luxury comfort car is quite convenient. Because an electric motor has a number of advantages over a petrol engine in a luxury comfort car. It's quieter and an electric motor has all the power right away, so you don't have to accelerate as much to move forward. And the extra weight does not matter on a Rolls-Royce because they are not light weight anyway. It also matters in terms of range, because if a Rolls-Royce owner wants to travel further, he will take his private jet anyway. Having said this, it is not that the v12 was super noisy and stuff, because that engine also did a really good job also.
