Except it doesn't. The yellow "Check Engine" light only means there's a emissions-related error. A wonky lambda probe is enough to make it light up, it has absolutely nothing to do with engine damage.

But it did not. You could see it did not even tackle the same difficulty of obstacles the tuck did. Put them on exactly the same track. This was not a race but rather a car sales commercial.

Saurabh SP A calculator is a computer. Correct engineering and soft wear development and good solid materials and mostly correct engineering can make a machine last a lifetime. Ever seen the killing a Toyota video? Yeah if that was modern rover like this one I guarantee it would have been unsaveable with all the crap they install like an rotary shifter. But they are nice cars when they are reliable. But not the sport god not the sport. Just the regular Range Rover Land Rover

@@cptfrecell When he went full speed uphill you can see and hear the car bottoming out and hitting the front skidplates hard. Something broke off. I don't know what. Looks like a piece of the air dam. If you pause at exactly 4:48 you can see it.

I'll never forget seeing the first self-driving Humvee on a track. They all said in 5 years, nobody would be diving themselves anywhere other than in older cars. Well, that was over 20 years ago and we're only just now coming close to anyone doing that

I had a Kahn Design Range Rover conversion done on my TerraMax and I must say that the result is awesome: tremendous off-road load-lugger with an outrageously luxurious interior and paint job. Best of both worlds - love it!

Yes, a show by a company that isn't allowed to take money commercially fixed the result to make a free advert for Land Rover. It can't be that the car is actually able to make the journey they claimed. Also, the clean shots you see where it's dramatic are filmed again later on. The first person shots are done by James May and the result found. Stunt drivers then do a second go to get the "cool" shots. Also, doesn't help your argument that the car does get muddy.

They do make money commercially. Top Gear was sold around the world by the BBC. That wasn't a full, unbroken lap. That was scene after scene after scene and no doubt there was some cleaning and polishing between scenes until they got each section right.

+Dskblade Apparently nothing broke on it. Just five punctures and the sensitive electrics which decide to ping broken/error messages on the dashboard as soon as the electrics feels there is something different with it. And I should know, ours feels the needs to tell me tyre pressure errors and suspension faults despite the fact there is nothing wrong with it.

+rock my 1994 gmc 4x4 with a 4 inch lift might not be as fancy... but it would have kicked the crap out of both being faster than the terramax, it could have take in the same paths as the range rover and would have out done it in the rocks.

***** Same here, owned a supercharged from 05, got to 150k miles and that's when it started getting major issues. And it was abused daily too, now have a V6 late 2014 model and only had one problem on it and that was caused by me. The owners that give it a bad name are the ones who buy the prehistoric ones (mostly BMW and Ford era) that have 47378573575 miles on and were the cheapest ones for sale at the time.

Did you notice the dangling part (cable?) under the Range Rover at 4:45? It is not visible in the other climbing shots, and that tells a lot about how many shots and cuts were used to make that single scene. The Range Rover probably tried it several times, until the driver started with a high enough speed to do it by sheer momentum.

Man, I grew up like 15 miles from that place. Glad I never ran into an autonomous military truck while tooling around on my dirt bike, or horse, in the middle of that desert. I did see the Top Gun aviators a lot though (their base is about 20 miles from there), which was cool.

It’s cool that the Range Rover is that tough around all terrain and I’m genuinely impressed, but because it’s a high end vehicle things like new bumpers, tires, suspension, and other tings that would probably need regular maintenance if you actually use it like this would be insanely expensive and that’s why no one off roads in a Range Rover

Thy need 10-15 range romver to pass the test. Range rover is very sensitive. Small rock hit the ryre will be damaged and car not reliable
