The T.50 is the ultimate driving machine, while the Valkyrie is the ultimate speed machine. They are from two different categories, and therefore not fair to compare them directly.

Chris's opinion is so important to the car community. I especially like that he often presents both sides of an argument and then states where he lands.

The T50 will be superior. Yes, the Valkyrie will probably be much faster. But the T50 is built 100% for driver enjoyment and the driving experience. Like Chris said, GMA couldn’t give a rats ass how fast it goes round the Nurburgring. Yes, other cars are probably faster, which one would you enjoy more 🤷🏼‍♂️

Chris is so right with these hypercars, yes they are amazing with their performance but what are you going to do with it. 500 km/h? Fantastic, where am I going to do this on a public road without killing myself & god knows who else? Absolutely pointless. Give me an Alfaholic or a Singer Porsche any day. Or maybe a T.50... hehe

I am an Alfa 4C owner...so for me the T.50 is an obvious choice if I could afford one.

Not only is Chris a handy driver, he’s a damn good journalist. I love how he describes the cars he drives.

What will happen is what Christian Koenigsegg stated few years ago, super cars will follow the same trend of luxury watches.... Sure, a digital Casio will keep better time, simpler to work on and will have more features than a Rolex, but for some people, they want something mechanical, emotional, complex in a way you know it was done out of passion for inner workings and mechanical engineering. Same for these hypercars, and although the trend already started few years ago with the million dollars cars that are limited to 120 units or whatever, the T.50 will start a definitely split in the market, with the more common cars going to electric (the Casios), and the bespoke super/hypercars continuing with gas engines, and maybe going back to older, proven tech (the Rolexes, Omegas, TAG's). The only question i have is... we saw lately once super exclusive brands like Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston, Bentley, and to some degree of exclusiveness, Porsche, going more and more for sales numbers and creating products that appeal more the mass market.... And by doing so, will those brands want to continue that path and turn to full electric in order to sell more and more? Or will they take a step back, assume that chasing higher and higher numbers is just pointless and go back to their origins and strive for a more emotional and engaging driving? Or will themselves split into two, and just have both, and dilute their market and heritage identity?

T.50 Everyday. Forever. Murray makes real cars. The T.50 is even more of a GT than the McLaren F1. Murray designs good cars as tools to be issued everyday

The T.50 will actually be usable as a GT, will very likely have ride quality similar to the Alpine A110S (although I have to wonder if the the induction noise is going to be headache-inducing). It and the Valkyrie may both have swan-song V12's and be exactly contemporaneous but they have almost nothing else in common.

Chris gets it, motoring isn't about your 1/4 mile time, it's about having a machine that you connect with. Some of the slowest cars I've owned have given me the best experiences.

Can't afford an F1, but very much looking forward to the new Nissan Z which will have a manual transmission like all Z's in the past.

T50 is experience car and people afford it will appreciate it. It's not like their other budget friendly options that manual with v12 - Zonda, LP640, 550, Diablo just to name a few. They won't be the same as the T50 but you get that experience for a lot less.

Why have 1 Mclaren F1 when you can have 10? The Valkyrie is the lust and the T.50 is the desire

We are reaching stupid levels of performance. I've recently experienced a Porsche 992 Carrera S flatout in a mountain road, and it was plenty fast. It covers ground quicker than a C7 Z06 that was my previous benchmark. In no real circumstance, the Z06 is faster than the 992. It just isn't, despite having 200hp more. While all these new Hypercars are extremely impressive machines, they are more of status totems than drivers cars... Wonder when it all started going too far. Probably with the Bugatti Veyron and the Koenigsegg CCX.

Chris Harris. You are the man!!! I agree with you on all points. You are the true “car guy”. You need to be on more car shows.

They’ve been talking for almost a decade about how the internal combustion engine HyperCar is going away. “Will this be the last one?” (Remember Clarkson’s film on the Aston Martin) I think they’re here to stay. Supply follows demand, and the rich will always pay for these status symbols.

I would love to have both however I would own the the Gordon Murray T.50 knowing it will accelerate in appreciation faster than it goes 0-60.

The T.50 is an engineering marvel, but above all, is an ode to the driver. There's a 40 some minute video on here from near end of its prototyping days and Gordon himself talks about his decisions and why they were made for the car. It all boils down to driver experience. I believe at some point someone in the press asked him the stop speed and he responded "I don't care." All these expensive as hell cars want to sell track times and I think us regular jackoffs aren't impressed by it, but the T.50 strikes at the core of any car lover with millions of dollars or not. To me it's the ultimate example of the last 20 some years of advancement since the F1 and I don't care about benchmarks on paper.

Not only the 918 but also the Carrera GT. It's was such a underrated car, and now it's prob. the best sounding Porsche ever with that v10! Porsche is just such classics.

I’d want the T50. I can’t imagine any car ever, apart from maybe an F40 due to the turbo boost and lack of weight combined with ‘80’s engineering, being as much fun to drive on a mountain road.

I suspect that the Valkyrie will blow minds around the track, but I suspect the T50 is going to be the most "enjoyable", because it's a road car first and foremost, because it's manual and fully N/A, but it will be interesting to see including what they think of the AMG too. From a personal perspective, I think the one that if I was in the market would "excite" me more, is the GM T50.

I bet the T50 driving experience will be sublime and you won’t need to ask an owner, “well, what do you do with it”? Because the obvious answer will be “You drive it, everywhere and anywhere you like. Take it on holiday, take it to the track, get groceries in it.” The Valkyrie is more like a pure track days car and art piece.

Really interesting comment regarding the aesthetics of the T50. I find it quite lovely in the photos. What a shame that it isn’t so nice in the flesh as the concept is just mega IMO.

I’ve said for years and years that hydrogen is the way forward, not electric. In the long term electric vehicles will be far more harming for the environment than the current and ‘traditional’ powered cars etc. The recycling costs of batteries (for one) is unbelievable, and the harm that is done to the environment just to mine the items needed is also extraordinary. Trillions of pounds, dollars or whatever will have been wasted on a huge white elephant. Hydrogen all the way for me.

Soon as I saw the Beautiful T50, I thought to myself, The T50 would be the Silky Smooth Glass Slipper, and the Aston would be the Shape of a Tear Drop of Water. Both beautifully sculptured to their on Perfect. The Question Fan or No Fan. Or what is the Aston had a fan. Just to mix it up. Lol. Love the Art of Extreme Design. The Evija is technically not that heavy for an electric car, but that's because it has so few batteries. The car couldn't do 2 racing laps around the Nurburgring. At best it'll be good for a hill climb, but lap records? What's the point of track driving if you can only do about 15 minutes of it, and even that you'll need to lift and coast to save batteries. You also need to leave juice for getting home as well. What that car is good for, is drag racing. Yeah I know, a Lotus as a drag monster. I know I would actually have more fun in a Lotus Exige rowing my own gears through the canyon roads at a tiny fraction of the price.

How fast you can go? Apparently 331 mph according to Top Gear.

The hyper cars are astounding. However, the older I get the more I have learned to appreciate cars like Pagani and Spyker. They place more emphasis on the artistic form while maintaining impressive super car performance.

Go back 20 years and see that the BMW M3 CSL is one of the best drivers cars. E46 model. Now with optional manual conversion. I love BMW but their new cars are no better (worse) in term of styling, design, feeling, etc. Even the M3 E46 non-CSL would be very good. Very good video on Harry's garage now. Several cite the E46 carbon airbox induction noise as being like Mclaren F1.

T50 all the way! The McLaren F1 is still the greatest car ever made and from everything I've seen the T50 is a huge evolution of the F1. I am confident that the T50 will be the new greatest car of all time.

Sure the T50 is cheap relative to the F1, but they're making so few that I suspect that it's destined to just sit in a collection not being driven.
