How do you replace the Chiron, a hypercar that ultimately topped out with nearly 1,600bhp and a top speed over 300mph?
CEO Mate Rimac toyed with a hybridised Chiron and even reskinning his own electric Nevera hypercar, but in the end settled on an all-new car…
Praise be, for what a thing it is! The engine is a naturally aspirated 8.3-litre V16 that’ll rev to 9000rpm, and together with three electric motors, the hybrid powertrain pops out a stonking 1,775bhp (or a nice round 1,800PS). It will be limited to 277mph - but don’t bet against a top speed record attempt in time.
The interior is, perhaps, even more special, taking a leaf out of Pagani’s book for delectable details, with the exposed workings of the intricate, incredible dials giving the Tourbillion its name.
That’s just the headline stuff though, so sit back and join Top Gear Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Jack Rix, together with Bugatti boss Mate Rimac, for an in-depth tour of the £3.8m Chiron successor…

they could have design it better especially in powertrain features, battery pack weighs 200 kg with 130 wh/kg in pack level energy density,CATL has released a battery cell called semi solid condensed NCM cells with 400 wh/kg in pack level energy density, they could have 50 kwh battery pack with weight of only 125 kg in total meaning it could be twice in capacity and 80 kg lighter in weight if bugatti just payed more attention to the details, also they could have 6 liter twin electric turbo chargers(same as 2025 porsche 911 gts which acts like an anti lag and generator for the battery pack) w16 that puts out 1500 hp and weight of 200 kg in total, they could order ultra powerful 800 hp yasa axial flux e motor to be sandwiched between the 6 liter w16 and transmission which has 15 kw/kg power density(highest in the world)all of that means bugatti tourbillon could make 2300 hp from w16 engine+3 ultra light weight e motors and CATL semi solid 50kwh battery pack for the powertrain, and din weight of only 1880 kg in total, bugatti what have you done with your amazing hyper car

it's because he's not Italian or American. He also had come from a ground-up background. It's good to be prideful but if that's all you are, then you're worth nothing. You gotta be able to back up that pride. Mate is humble because he's not at a stage where he answers to people but he only answers to himself and people buy it. When he said that only Koenigsegg is more crazy than him - that’s when my respect turned into admiration. I feel like we've gone back in time when I see Mate presenting a new product like this. Being someone that's started his own car company and now heading up one of the greatest brands in the world it shows through amount of passion and enthusiasm that he exudes. He is on a level that no one besides a car creator could be. VW Group nailed it when they brought him on board, in my humble opinion. You can see he really understands every aspect of car design and engineering and and it's satisfying to watch somebody present a car with so much pride and joy and enthusiasm. It's as if we're watching someone like Bugatti himself presenting the car himself, this car has got every part of him in it and I can only hope that based on his enthusiasm and his energy, that he's an absolute pleasure to work, because he really represents all departments with respect and pride. Its not scripted because he knows his shit. It's a joy to watch.

Just the thought of having a 16 cylinder that can rev like a Honda and sound way better than a ferrari is truly amazing and the fact that it is naturally aspirated, makes it more exciting for the future of that engine and the brand cause what if they slap 2 turbos on it I wonder how much powerful it would be. Great respect to Mate Rimac for being such gentleman and not choosing to go full electric with the brand that has always been known to be one of a kind yet elegant on their own rights.
