Slew rotation is most challenging to understand but once you get it your speed and production will increase!

I didn’t even think about watching KZfaq videos for tips… I’m currently getting my top-pick training and it’s going pretty good. I’m comfortable in the machine and I’m definitely using all my buttons. I was told the same thing when inching into the pile, don’t turn your wheel. It’s a habit I know, but it’s great practice to use all your buttons to do any adjustments… Also a nice tip when your bridal starts swinging, “just land it to stop it.” Never being inside a top pick before, I always had a notion that the slightest touch of the bridal would cause a box to slide or tip over, but I’ve learned that these boxes can handle a bit of “love taps” (all within reason of course). Definitely learning a lot this week. Let’s see how it goes on Monday with loaded container because that’s when thing will get real! Good job, and appreciate you sharing your knowledge. 💯 when you stated that we all want to go home safe to our families

I'm not a tophandler driver but I do operate a large model Taylor Big Red forklift for a sawmill. I wish forklifts had some kind of button on them that would correct being crooked like the slew function on these! Bc our packs of lumber come down a set of roller chains you can't push against them to get straight like you can in many cases bc you'll push them back down the chains. But a bigger issue is being crooked out in the yard where we stack them bc we often end up that way due to all the ruts, mudholes, and completely uneven terrain. It's very difficult to back up slightly and make a minor correction when one wheel is down in a rut and it takes alot of pressure on the accelerator just to back out of it at all. Minor adjustments are a huge headache out there for sure.

It's kinda informative. I used to manuever an empty container handler, the so called sidelifter.

I did this kind of work for ten years with same type of machine but sitting lowdown with lift cylinder in your face. It takes practice many hours. when you do it long time you can come in to a can and only use two controls up and down +steering.

Where do you get trained to do this?
@jeffinspace76682 жыл бұрын
@@deshu220 I work for the Port of LA, it's one of the jobs that requires you be in the union where I work. It's a really hard job to get into, they only hire maybe once a decade.

Congrats brotha!!!! I used to work for CAL-LIFT authorized dealer that sells TAYLOR “big red machine” we would go to the ports of LA to built them. Pretty sick machine! At the time they would cost 500k (2006)

Um yes hello, is there a domestic version of this? My wife is rather hard to move and she is already equipped with locking pineapples or maybe just regular pineapples.

You know you pissed off the operator when they intentionally slam the can on the chasis....
