Almost 30 minutes worth of video to basically tell us that the Super Nintendo port wasn't all that great. I owned it, it may have been missing features, but it was a still a solid experience that I prefer to Streets of Rage. It was also an early title, some cut backs were to be expected.

I always wondered if Haggar not crossing over into Street Fighter just had to do with his moveset being too similar to Zangief's. Not that that's stopped them from making a dozen shotoclones but maybe it's harder to differentiate two gigantic pro wrestler guys who already share moves which they're both renowned for.

Leaps and bounds better than all other FF outtings, brimming with a charm games like SOR2 tried and failed to emulate, it is the very pinnacle of side scrollers set in an urban environment. I feel the street atmosphere in this game was matched only in the original Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting games. Oh and SF Alpha 1

As a kid we went to Croatia for the holiday. Autocamp Polari in Rovinj. Near the swimming pool they had a small arcade, and that's where I discovered this truly awesome game. Back home I had a Sega Master System and wasn't aware of the snes having a version of this game. Heck I was in my 20's when I found out. I would have given my left nut as a kid to be able to enjoy this game at home, even with the flaws.

One of the best arcade games ever and still looks and plays great to this day.

Man, this era of beat'em ups was magical. The Simpsons, TMNT, Final Fight. These are the greatest games of their genres still to this day. The sounds these games made in the arcade are burned in to my soul.

Great beat em up. Final fight CD is definitely the best one. While final fight one on GBA is good too. Both these games are better than the SNES and arcade games. Final fight on SNES for obvious reasons and the arcade version just becomes cheap. Even if you download the arcade version it becomes cheap in later levels. Your just feeding continues because of the difficult spike. It's not fun when you can't have the balance.

I think that the characters in final fight were designed based on characters on street fighter, so haggar was supposed to be zangief and because their move sets are so similar I think that they decided not to put two so similar characters on the same game.

It caused outrage for me when it first dropped on SNES as a 1 player game only. Thankfully there was a Genesis nearby where me and my friends couple play Streets of Rage.

It's amazing how much better something can be when you don't know what you're missing. My parents got me this game along with a Super Nintendo for Christmas and I absolutely loved it. Little me never heard of Guy or Poison or anything about this game aside what my SNES told me and I was greatly satisfied with what I got.

Am I the only one wanting a serious project remake of THIS game! I mean all the RE Remakes have been great, but I want a Final Fight 1 Remake with serious added in depth story line. I want a slight back story connecting Zangief and Haggar having the same Coach/Trainer when they were younger being the reason as to why they have a similar move set giving a nod to Ryu and Ken. They wouldn't have to train together at the same time just have the same trainer. Which means I want Hagger to have the Spinning Piledriver in FF1 Remake. I want depending on what character you pick that you'll start off in a different location of the city kind of like how Leon and Claire split up and have different paths in RE2. For example if you picked Cody you'd start at Jessica's house going to pick her up and realize she's not there, Guy you'd start out at their gym while receiving the news from Haggar or Cody. If you pick Haggar you'd start out at the Mayor's Office thus giving different paths/playthroughs and a chance for times where the heroes meet up at different locations of the city to fight together before getting split up again. I want the heroes to have walkie talkies or something to communicate like Leon and Claire did throughout Racoon City. Have the last mansion be more grand and have all the team eventually meet up there for the Final Round. It'd be great if the bosses where somehow more epic too plus giving insight to how sadistic these guys really are thus having their fights be more dramatically invested of the outcome. Give the characters specials and voice actors because Don Frye would be the perfect voice for Hagger and the Japanese audience are somewhat familiar with him as a fighter. Lastly, I want a full on unheard of license/sponsorship collaboration with Nike and Adidas for Guy and Cody officially wearing their products 😂. Capcom could even collaborate with Red Wing boots or something for Haggar 😅 Hey a fan can dream, and to be purposely over dramatic, my heart yearns for this game! As a child there was no cooler m'fer on the planet then Cody!

Capcom should give Final Fight a HD remaster like they did with Super Street Fighter Turbo. Add a few extra characters as unlockables just like the Gameboy Advance Port. (SF Alpha Guy and SFAlpha Cody) Then do one for FF2 (a total remake of the game) and HD Remaster of FF3. If they don't want to do it, maybe a reboot of Final Fight inspired by the Yakuzxa games?

I don't know why you keep referring to Final Fight for the SNES as a disappointment. Were you even alive when it came out? It was one of the first games I got for the SNES and I thought it was great. Since I was not even 10 years old, I hadn't even played the arcade, so it didn't bother me. Most people would consider Final Fight for the SNES a great port, except for the exclusion of the 2 player mode.

It's safe to say everything about Poison's design is biological female while making up whatever to say she isn't. I never knew there was post-op trans in the 80s that could do that level of work lol! A tell they would have is in anime they will hire a male VA to get it across and often give tells away in the design. However, sex sells and Poison is a better seller as a woman than trans. I didn't know they gave a statement of one thing being true in the West and another for Japan. It reminds me of, but nowhere near egregious as Arc Systemworks retconning Bridgett to be whatever they thought would get sales in the West, only to piss everyone off.

In all that talk about characters crossing over into the Street Fighter franchise, I'm surprised you didn't give at least a cursory mention to Haggar's appearance in Saturday Night Slammasters, instead, which may be part of the reason he's been so slow to make the jump over to SF. He's already _in_ another franchise, albeit a far less successful and recognizable one. Also, bible thumping? From the company that infamously removed all crosses and other religious iconography from their games? NoA's censorship was rather infamously heavy-handed, yes, but you can hardly blame it on religious zealotry. If anything it was the opposite: a determination to be as bland and inoffensive to as many people as humanly possible.
