The best KZ "Lauryn Hill Medley" for me is a jazzified 10-minute freestyle solo from one of her instagram lives. It's a shame that not a lot of people were able to listen & enjoy that. 😌

Another AMAZING reaction! I'm with you two, I was also nervous and ready to be disappointed the first time I heard this. But, if KZ is in it AND she arranged it...it will turn out amazing. EVERY SINGLE TIME! This was the older "acoustic" version arranged by KZ and Makoy Portado, the guitarist. Again, it showcases KZ's versatility and creativity. What they did with this arrangement with just a guitar is "genius." Trivia: did you guys recognize the guitarist Makoy from KZ's Say Something performance in China? Also, KZ has cited Lauryn Hill as one of her major influences. When KZ was younger, she was a "belter" and sang mostly power ballads. When she got to high school she developed Polyphs on her vocal cords which hindered her vocal range, and nearly forced her to nearly quit singing. When she decided to stick with music, she started learning how to "rearrange" her songs to better suit her now "reduced" vocal range and Lauryn Hill was one of the first artist that KZ started listening to.
