Sir in question 18 we can simplify it more by taking common a and b..but in ques it is written expand so should we simplify it more or not

Taking common will take you back to the question. Expand means to open it and do maximum plus minus that’s it

Sir in question 16.. -x-1 is ans ...but we can also take minus common ...amd hence ans will be -(x+1) Can we do this??

You made a common mistake, in the end 6 will be added and not subtracted hence answer is correct which is 7/2
