This hulk wasn't made for action. It was to display the complexity of the character. Which is why I think it's brilliant!!!

I truly don’t understand why people roast this character design/ CGI. It looks stunning to me; especially for when it was made. He looks weighted, naturally fits in with the tangible environment, and has incredible amounts of detail (his gamma radiation turned the water on him into steam!). Not to mention this is about the only time in cinema history that Hulk actually grows as he gets anger and has almost all of his comic powers in tact! This movie (like BvS, Watchmen & Man of Steel) dares to tell a sophisticated story based on a giant green rage monster. I suspect a lot of audience members don’t know how to process mindless CGI spectacle and thought provoking storytelling in the same package so they become angry when filmmakers try to blend them into one story.

People saying that the cgi was bad...Man this movie was legendary, way ahead of its time and the cgi looks way better even today

I thought the CGI was pretty good for 2003. Just that the hue of the green is a little too bright in my opinion but I guess its similar to the comic?

Hulk looks so real in this scene. I think its because they put him in harsh "plain" sun light, the opposite to the new films which are very flashy and full of effects and light sources. Also that dirt in his skin makes him look more grounded to reality.

I remember as a little kid that I would be afraid of this scene, but now I look back at it as a teenager thinking that scene is awesome.

For me the CGI stills looks good, when you remember it's was released in 2003 they did a good job with the character and his powers.

When he's turning back into Banner the elastic waistband in those pants is doing its best to make sure we keep it PG-13.

2:39 to 2:48 CGI on hulk in my view is so spot on... In the beginning his trapezius muscle slightly moved, the way he gulps as his eyes water slightly shows a very authentic human-like movement, his neck muscles seamlessly shift, his hair is naturally moving, and his gaze is so actual and real as if it was showing an actual conscious human soul, as if he is really there, the lighting and the blending is simply stunning.

Even though I don’t care for this movie overall, I’m starting to like this Hulk more than Ruffalo’s version now that they made him less threatening & had him cracking jokes.

I love the explanation of why he hulks out in this movie with the nanomeds absorbing radiation and stress response triggering them into overdrive.

Jesus Christ man, Jennifer Connelly is such a gorgeous woman!!. When I saw her in Battle Angel many years after I was impressed, then I found out that she was also in the 80's Top Gun. Is this woman ever age?.

Sure, the overall special effects don’t hold up as… almost twenty years ago and the first attempt at something like this… but the attention to realism as far as the little details… not to mention the best Hulk story by far and superb acting on all counts. The ending maybe is a little bloated and hokey, but my favorite Hulk story and action to date. They really understood the character they were bringing to life.

Splitting the screens was Comic book fidelity 101 they tried to keep it organic that way. It's not great but appreciate the innovations that this director made. Great movie with hiccups here and there. Good CGI for a 2003 flick.
