Hey Sam. Huge Topo Cyclone 2 fan. I will definitely be pre ordering these. Explain something to me, how is it at the TRE event the Topo rep. said they went down in weight from the original version and are 7.6 oz. in a size 9. Is this weight gain a common thing once they go thru the production process for most shoe brands. Plus yours are the sample weight. I can never trust the listed weight on any shoe brand's website. And also, how does this shoe compare to the Brooks Hyperion Max 1, a very light weight stiff plate less shoe with some flex that has a very pronounced forefoot rocker. A shoe I thoroughly love running in. I'm not too sure if like the changes Brooks made to the Max 2.

Topo had issues hitting the original spec weight not sure why. Usually spot on so may sense a manufacturing change they could fully control as we actually had an earlier sample that was heavier and they re made. Weight wasn’t an issue with those or these on the run. Max 1 far firmer if more responsive. Max 2 much more energetic if firmer foam than here and yes a pronounced rocker. Very stable from sidewalls and upper. A high volume high mileage more uptempo shoe. Review soon

@@RoadTrailRun Thanks Sam. Can't wait for the Hyperion Max 2 review. I tried them on the other day and now their surely worthy of being called max. Tried on the Hyperion 2 too and outside of the stack and weight, I don't see how they compare in ride to the Max 1 like some people are saying. They added a slight rocker to it but as a forefoot striker, I barely noticed it compared to one that's in the Max 1 that keeps you rolling foward effortlessly.

Got the Hyperion Max 2 on it's way and had decided to pair them with the Specter 2 as soon as they become available in the UK. I was actually expecting the Topo to be the most responsive of the two shoes. Looking forward to trying both.

Does the Cyclone 2 have good stability in the heel area? I have the Triumph 20 which I like, but the heel is wobbly.

For sure! Near ideal for that. Lots of energetic cushion, great rocker, roomy secure upper

How would the length of Topo Specter 2 compare with the sizing of something like Saucony, ASICS or Mizuno? I tried a Saucony Triumph 22 and size 13 was clearly too long, 12.5 was just right, but in the Mizuno Wave Rider 27, size 12.5 is too short, 13 just right for me. In ASICS, I usually go for 12.5.

Less about length than shape of front of toe box in those you mention. Broad and rounded here. I would lean 12.5

@@RoadTrailRun OK. Will do. Thank you so much. I go up half a size to size 13 in Mizuno and Puma partly because they seem to run a bit narrow. I like the wider toe box. I have a pair of Vivobarefoot Primus Trail in 12.5 and it fits great.

Topo Cyclone 2 Was Practically impossible to get in Europe and I think this one will be the same.. It was also $40 more than a Noosa 15 and the Topo was never on sale.. Noosa 16 looks like a good option..
