I cut every wig I get to make a topper out of it. I want nothing hard like ear tabs or the back elastic. I want only hair. I use the cap and put wig clips in. That way I can use it as a wig or a ponytail or bun. It’s,so much more versatile. That way if anyone comes up to touch my hair or the back of my head, they will feel nothing but hair. And on the topper you are demonstrating, you can always sew in a wig clip back further where your bangs are. Also, using some hair gel on your thin areas can help it feel more secure.

Oh my gosh. I must have watched this video at least a dozen times or more and I finally just did it! Found a fantastic price and bought Top Billing and I LOVE IT!!! Can't thank you enough. I am going to have to trim it & like you, right where the front clips are I have almost no hair so I may move them back as far as I can & use It stays as far down as I can. Gosh I love it! I am on my second Top Billing Topper and I LOVE them! Mine are in shaded wheat. I wear mine in an updo clip and NO ONE can tell. I get a lot of compliments on how nice my hair looks. I use the Got 2 b glued hair spray at the lace front and it does not move.

When I got this topper, I had a clip installed in the front middle, and had the temple clips moved back one section. I’m sparse on my temples as well. This stays solid all day, no glue necessary! Love it. I bought a back up piece as well and had the same thing done!

I love my topbillings, I have 4 of them. I'm able to put on a up sweep, ponytail braids. When I go to my wig shop. There are many women who think it my own hair and when they see that it isn't they want one for them selves. My wig gal loves me coming into her shop. I always seem to sell them to new customers .

That reminds me of my On Point by Raquel Welch in shaded biscuit and you’re right that one does fall short of what it’s needed for in the back. But yet I love it!! The only topper I have and it was my very first peace with it all is a Noriko five clip Milan, in creamy blonde which matched my hair perfectly. I even went to a wig shop to try it on and loved it but...,they wanted so much more than what the price was online, so I ordered it online. I loved it, then I started ordering Wig’s after that and I got HOOKED!!! I’m thinking about doing another topper.

Hi Jill - THANK YOU so much for this detailed review. Now that my scalp is healed from my most recent brain surgery, I'm ready to wear my Top Billing topper but it's been so long I forgot how to style it! Watching you don and finger-style it really helped. I LOVE my topper - Florida is just way too hot and humid for a full wig, in my opinion lol - even in "winter". Totally agree with you about the back though....had to shave my whole head this time and it looks very sparse....going to try sewing in some extensions per another commenter. Thanks again! :)

Wow, what a difference! Really enjoyed your video, thanks! So, What the heck is an ‘itstay’ ? I’m 62 - my hair has started to thin considerably all around my face, it’s time for me to start looking at toppers for help disguising the issue. My hair is very long, past my mid-back, almost to my waist. I’m not cutting it any time soon. I’m also planning to grow out my grey. Again. Ugh, I’ve done it 3 times over the past 10 yrs but just wasn’t ready to deal with reality! As soon as the dyed hair was all gone, within a few weeks I’d go back to coloring it again! I think I’m ready now. My plan is to get a topper in my current color - medium blond - to help disguise my thinning hair and my grey roots for as long as possible. MAYBE when my roots have grown out to about chin length I might cut my hair to about shoulder length and then switch to a grey topper to help with the thinning hair issue. I’m not quite sure yet (got a year or 2 to think on it). Anyway - hoping to get some good hair & makeup tips as I move through this stage of life.

I have been watching so many of your videos.....I have a above shoulder bob style and very thin hair..... I ordered this topper because it was the closest to my Grey bio hair in RL511. Adding an extention to the back area is a great idea for more volume. Agree it looks skimpy. Matching grey colors is very difficult. I feel limited to Raquel Welch toppers for the color. Thx for the pros & cons.

I purchased this in a rooted 14/22. It's my first topper. I have human hair extensions I've been wearing clipped in the back of my hair. I'm having little struggles with getting this on. Your video has helped, but I'm still experimenting. It goes well with my bio hair and also with my HH extensions in the back for a long layered look. I am thinning a bit in my crown. I will keep playing and hopefully work it out to be a good helper hair. Thanks. I appreciate you.

Few years ago I got this topper, Top Billing, and it was fabulous. Unfortunately, they are not well constructed anymore. I tried to get one at 2 different places, and it came out badly because you don't cannot part, so your scalp look natural and also you are going to have the hair in your face.

I think you can totally get away with that lighter colour. Your bio hair & the rooting from the topper are the exact same colour!! Shaded Biscuit, in my opinion, suits you so much better than the Shaded Praline. It matches, & even brightens, your complexion to perfection. It’s one of the nicest colours I’ve ever seen on you. 💕

I just received mine in shade RL511 Sugar and Charcoal and I really love it! I need to have it cut as my bio hair is much shorter than this but that is okay. It does match my bio hair color though to a T so kudos to RW for making this shade! Thank you too Miss Jill for everything you do. NEW USERS, TOUCH THE LACE as little as possible (if you don’t have to or if you're not going to trim or alter it). I once thought I could handle it a bit tougher than I did and realized I was wrong! My fault! They aren't as delicate as I'm sounding, but when putting on wig or topper, when you need to adjust the piece, grasp the hair part and not the lace to adjust. The Jon Renau's and Rachel Welch's have served me wonderfully for 7 years!

Chi Chi I don’t wear lace front toppers... so it works great to just fold it in like that for me. I have no intentions of wearing it as it’s intended so it is all good. 😉 If it we’re a lace front wig... I definitely wouldn’t do that.

Jill Lynn Beauty Therapy - Oh, no...that was a message to all viewers who aren't used to wigs or toppers. Most don’t realize just how easy it is to damage the lace. I should have (and now will edit) to viewers that message is for them. And I'll give an anecdote as to how I DID IT! 😱 I know that you know what you're talking about. There is NOBODY ELSE like you on KZfaq about wigs and Toppers that goes into such detail as you do for EVERY person who may want to wear them. I go to others and they just don’t devote the time like you. And you go into (whee t may seem to be small details, but are very important) more than others. I apologize for way I worded my comment. It DOES look like I'm saying ipt to you. Thanks for ALL your info! I've been we rings wigs (mainly Jon Renau) for 7 years. I don’t have hair loss but have fine and thin hair that I just can't style. But, I still love to view your videos!!

I think this topper would look great with an all around even cut. I couldn't help but notice the length in the front hangs longer than anywhere else. Other than that, I think the style and color looks good on you.

Such a pretty color and topper. I just got one by Hairdo and had to have it layered and cut since my bio hair is layered. Wished I would have paid more attention to this one. I need a bang like this one. My hair is similar in texture as yours and I too, have less hair in the same area as well. I’d love to see a video on how you trim your toppers to blend. I wash in woolite and soak in downy. After letting it air dry halfway, I use my flat iron at 325 and flat iron the fuzzy ends. It completely renews my Tru To Life fiber hair pieces. I've kept some of my wigs for over two years by taking care of them this way. It doesn't dull the hair. Instead, it makes the hair very fresh and smooth like when the wig came out of the box.

i bought my second Top Billing My first one was the best one i ever bought. The second one was so irregular. The bang was so short ( not normal short) Was so excited i took tag off and put it on. Went to store thinking it has a little box hair looking. came home and husband noticed the band look like a bang on a child ( to choppy and on the middle was a strand was 3 inches longer. I also noticed the memory was off not like the other that i bought. Called Patties Pearls and really felt they did not care Super sad

I THINK "lace front" is the seam where the hair starts & she lines up the seam onto her forehead . It's the part you'd never want to show

I got a Forever Young wig that I loved the color, curl pattern, and length, but the, so called, lace front and mono part were hideous! I turned it into a cute topper! I've got to sew in some clips. I've only worn it for short periods and I secured it with short bobbie pins, but it's gotta have clips! Hehe

This is funny. I was about to ask Jill to show how she trims toppers. Then I noticed that Jill asked a similar question I wonder if she uses a wig stand or perhaps leaves it on her head. My hairdresser refuses to trim my wigs. I cut others’ hair or my own. My own wigs, I make a hot mess.

You are so beautiful! I love your videos and have watched this one a dozen times. I just received the exact topper. I loved all of the basics about it...bangs, monofilament, lace front, heat friendly. I bought it knowing it was going to get it cut. Is that bad that I did that?? Anyway, getting my white hair to a shade of blond to go with the topper. I’m so very excited. I just have to find someone to cut it!!

Were you saying "It Stays"?? If so is that a glue that you put on your skin under the lace?? They just look like they do not make them thick enough. I am expecting one soon that is 150% thick so I certainly hope it is thick enough. It will be cut asymetrical. I am totally new to this.

Have you tried a topper with extensions to add length to your hair? I've got a very short inverted bob, just below my ears. Not nearly shoulder length. I'd like to, at times have hair longer without wearing a long wig. I'd like to be able to wear it up or in a ponytail, ECT extensions look awful with short hair if you go long with short hair, but with a topper it looks so natural!
