I am so glad I was able to find this song after 35 years. I was 9 years old when I first heard it. I was in my 4th or 5th grade music class. I had teacher named Ms. Simon and she had taught us a tropical dance to this song. I will never forget what she said when she first introduced it to us she said "Now when I begin to play this you better not laugh". It was because of the song's funny beginning. Hearing this song brings back memories and now I know who does the song.

Great tune. It was translated into Swedish and topped the charts here for a while in the 70's.

I would use the term "translated" very loosely. I'm Swedish too and the lyrics of the Swedish version have very little to do with the original. :)

fairlightmovies was very common with many songs, to make covers that no one actualy knew were covers from another songs, and then they just invented any lyrics that fitted the melody
