Hey Cammy, thanks for the explanation, it really helps. I have a question about the sizing limits (5 contracts). For example, how many ES-mini are in one contract? and currently how much margin would 1 ES-mini contract be (estimated). Also does topstep use leverage like ftmo does?

I just started with Topstep today and will start my Combine next week. Have been using Tradingview the past month and you'll realize how much cleaner it feels compared to metatrader. Just better overall. Plus it has a built in position size calculator pretty much with the long/short drawling tool. Haven't looked back since. Metatrader feels like garbage now lol.

Those rule are ridiculous after getting funded. They make it seem like you’re always in a challenge phase after supposedly getting funded. They just want people if successful to get small ass payouts until they fail and start over. Which is inevitable

There was a bit of a rough patch this year with them when they had a huge influx of users - but I personally haven’t been affected by it, it’s been very smooth since they sorted the issue too

Hello! On an earlier post someone had asked if sensitive info needed to be given to TopStep. Ive never gone on their website however watched others videos. My understanding is that if you want a payout you need to fill out a W-9 form, however that does ask for one's social security number. Would like to confirm with you and others. The withdrawal rule its confusing for me, like if it has to do with the DD how much can i exactly withdraw? Lets say i have 10k of in my account i can still only withdraw 5k? Even tho there's still another 5k remaining? Or is it subjet to my actual DD of in this case 2000? Like that doesn't make sense, And also if i do that i have to make another 5 wining days of 200+ to be able to withdraw again? Or how often can i withdraw? Let's say i have a 15k on my account and take 7.5k today, and then tmw i do another 5k its that ok? don't get it.

ACTIVATION FEE: something you didn't really elaborate on. It seems according to TS own website that the activation fee is per XFA. So, if you lose a funded account for whatever reason and have to re do the Trading Combine again - you would have to pay the activation fee again as well. Correct?

Thanks for this, think I'm gonna take the new 19$ deal going on. Question about the drawdown once you pass, lets say I follow your advice and get my account to 54k (4k earned) before requesting a payout, so then my drawdown max is 2000. now my account is 52k and I make 4k more, and grow it to 56k. Now if I take out a payout at 2k, is my new drawdown limit at 2k as well? (being 52k) or would it again be at 50k? hope that makes sense

The one big unanswered question is ,,,is it always a max 50% of your profits that you can withdraw or is that just on the 1st withdrawal,,,meaning in your example of making 4 k and only withdrawing 2k to leave a cushion of 2k ,,,,on your 2nd withdrawal say you made another 4k for now a total of 6k ,,,,can you withdraw 100% of your new profit ,which would be 4k ,and still have the 2k cushion ,,,or are you once again subject to the 50% max withdrawal which would be 3k leaving now a 3k cushion

Thanks for the great video. If I were to start at the $50K level, does the account ever scale up as you reach profit targets? And let's say you left all your profits in and grew to more than $100K, would it scale up to 10 contracts like you would have in a $100K account? If so, are we then capped at $150K? Lots of questions, ha. I am worried about the prop trading regulations for US traders and maybe Topstep being an American company and using futures is better protection. One more example of: don't worry, we are the government and we are here to help you.

Hey there, let's talk about the Scaling Plan. I believe there's a change in the maximum contract size allowed for trading compared to what you were accustomed to during the challenge. Now, with the 50k, you're limited to trading only 2 Lots until you've reached a profit of 1.5k$.

@@fetty6035yes I believe that’s correct. Also, a 2 contract limit until you reach the 1.5k is unfortunate however, 2 contracts will give you enough leeway to risk half a percent on a trade on either NQ or ES so it’s not so bad. Then once you reach the 1.5k mark you’ll have access to more contracts. It does restrict being able to “partial” a trade by setting up different contracts in opposing positions but that’s not the biggest deal.

Question: with withdrawing 50% of trading balance does that just apply to first withdrawal? For example if i leave that 2000 cushion from the first withdrawal can i take full withdrawal on the others payouts because I'll still have that 2000 cushion or it resets to zero everytime i take withdrawal so ill have to keep leaving that 50%?

Honestly..ive just started and im doing apex..i lije their priges better for these prop accounts and imo all these prop accounts should be $10 tops. With that being said this topstep actually does sound better than apex rn. I like the end of day thing compared to every trade u can lose your account.

Good question - if you have $10k profit in your account, your max loss is also $10k but your daily loss limit is still $2k

You cant withdraw the total 2k. you can only withdraw 50% of any gains. If you make say 1,500 you can only withdraw 750 but you only have 750 draw down.

interesting firm. one thing: i could point the 50% withdraw works in someway like a split since i understand the buffering thing but i may prefer not to give as much as 50% of my profits. in a 50k account 2000/2500 should be enoght for me and everything above that i'd prefer to withdraw it but with that rule i'd just stop trading once i double my planed buffer

Does the EOD end at anytime in your funded account with TopStep? For instance, will the EOD rule of $2000 (in the example you provided) eventually go away and the account becomes static after you’ve built a big enough cushion in the funded account?

of course anything over 2k turns into building the account XFA. Before 2k EOD is trailed and will display 2k or less just like in the combine.

Yeah that’s correct, you can build that cushion to whatever you like - however there will still be a soft daily loss limit ($1000 in the $50k example) to prevent you from going on tilt and blowing the account. However, the risk managers will allow you to increase that fixed limit if you have proven yourself consistent

sooo ive made 13k in my 100k and 7k in my 50k. first day i made a little less than half, first day I pulled out under my 50% and second day is when I really took off. I know its not a rule break, but do these funds that ive accumulated during the combine phase transfer to my XFA? Thank you btw

What about exchange fees? That is cost per trade. For example, TD Ameritrade is about $7 round trip and Tradovate is about half that. I know you can't use TD Ameritrade with Topstep, I'm just using that as an example.
