@LAXS I've had the Rift, Quest 2 and the G2. The jump from Rift to Quest 2 was huge. Then the jump to the G2 was even better. G2 has the best resolution of the 3, and is my favorite so far. I'm gonna look for something even better as soon as my 4090 arrives

so hp has a robust resulution of 2160x2160 per eye which is higher than any other headset on the market! Even mentioned "htc vive pro 2" which has 2448x2448 :)

The Valve Index lacks three very important features 1. Eye tracking. 2. Adjustable Eyepieces for people who wear eyeglasses. 3. A higher resolution. When these features are added to this headset I'll buy one. 🧐

I already own the quest 2, but I was given a gaming laptop recently with pretty good specs, is it worth switching to something like a vive pro or the valve index now that I have a gaming pc. I notice that the quest 2 is quite grainy with its graphics, is that improved with either of those options?

In my opinion if you have a laptop you should keep the quest 2 because laptops are not really good with vr from my experience but if you have a pc you should get a headset with the index controllers because the valve index has a pretty low resolution compared to the headsets coming out. This is all my opinion btw

Dude trust me a "gaming" laptop won't run any VR at decent frame rates unless it was like $2000. If you really want the higher tier VR headsets you'll have to invest into a desktop, which is always a great step-up from laptop anyways. I've made the mistake of buying a "gaming" laptop twice in my life and I'll never do it again.

my hp reverb g2 just doesnt work. seems to be bacause of the motherboard not detecting the display cable. I sent it in some time ago and got a new one wich had the same problems. Just hours of trouble and frustrating.

Why in god's name are you trying to plug your reverb into the motherboard? It needs to be plugged into the graphics card! If you don't have a dedicated graphics card, why are you trying to plug your headset into your computer to begin with? There is no way that onboard graphics will be capable of powering a VR headset!!

Depending on your computer, (and the fact that help wanted is on steam) I would suggest doing some more personal research in the line of valve headsets, as they're very responsive, and are solely pc headsets, but that's me.

They'll set you back a good quantity of cash but based on feedback they're worth it, the set up is a bit of a hassle I believe but will improve the overall experience in the long run, I too have Help Wanted but I play it on stand alone quest 2 and it's not as good

Do not get the valve index unless you don't mind drilling into your wall for the two base stations, being tethered to your PC and if you don't have sweaty hands. If your hands get sweaty, your controllers will stop tracking your hands and be closed the entire time, making you unable to pick up or drop anything.

VR has nothing to do with your tv. If you're looking to project your VR display onto the tv, then literally any modern TV can do that. Quest can run VR on it's own out of the box. Any Vive/Valve headset needs a pc fit to run vr (usually pretty hefty builds)

This video sounds like an ad, e.g. no downsides to the Quest 2 are mentioned, so how can the viewer compare it to the others? I bought the Quest 2 and sold it again after a few weeks. The FOV (field-of-view) is only around 90 degrees, so it feels like looking at the world through binoculars, i.e. not very immersive.

@@peglegkangaroo The big thing with Quest is that it does NOT need a pc to run. Sure, it's not the absolute best experience you can have, but likes a really good pick if you're not looking to shell out 1k+ for vr. HTC Vive is considered one of the better headsets. Although it's a bit dated and might lack on quality, it's still a great pick for high-end vr. It DOES require a pc. HP reverb has always just been on the background for me. I've got no information on it.

What this jackass of a reviewer doesn't mention is that the Index and some other still require base stations to be placed around the room for tracking., which for me is a no go, when things like the Quest 2 and Quest Pro don't need it and do very well without them! The Quest 2 is fantastic; There is a reason why it's on basically everyones A or S tier list. It works perfectly well on its own without being connected to a computer, but the visual quality ramps up when it is connected to a capable computer. If you want VR right now, Quest 2....IF you can wait, the Quest 3 has better lenses and a higher resolution, as well as being a bit lighter in weight.

For that, you can use one of those cheap devices that you slide your phone into. The videos never have a full 360 view OR head tracking. No need to invest in an expensive headset for a few good experiences :)

This guy is just reading a script while being absolutely clueless! For example the Valve Index doesn't have a 130 degrees FoV, it's about 107. One of the main selling points of the Vive Pro 2 is its bigger horizontal FoV of about 117. 10 degrees difference is huge. And Steam VR 2.0 doesn't give you 'access to content'. It's the name of the tracking system! Also no mention of the Vive Pro 2 having a wireless option (albeit with lower resolution). The list goes on... So much misinformation in this video I feel like I've become actually dumber because of it.

For that range, you can get a Meta Quest 2. It's a solid standalone headset that CAN be rigged up to your pc. It doesn't have extraordinary colors or anything, but it's very good for starting off.

The haptics and adaptive triggers combined with my haptic vest make a big difference when I compare the experience to Pavlov and After The fall on my VR2. They probably dont have an affiliate link for PSVR2.

Or the dlink router thing if you have good WiFi. I have an unlimited budget but with a 4000$ pc I can run pc vr at 120hz and max resolution I have no reason to spend 1000$+ on a high quality headset. I bought the pro controllers too which were a good purchase because I can use it on the quest 3 as well
