I was *very* late to watching Toradora, I just saw it on Netflix at one point and said, "Fuck it, got nothing else to better to watch rn" Now I understand why this is one of the classics. It's great, I loved the storyline, and even though I could *see* the predictable way the story was going to go, the impact never faltered. Absolutely wonderful

Taiga went back to her family to be emotionally mature enough to love ryuji as he loves her. Taiga had a lot of family issues that didnt allow her to grow to her fullest/best... watch some videos on taiga and the ending if you want. i love toradora i watched it 4 times lmao

I've only watched Toradora once, but I enjoyed your take. I'll start by saying that I didn't really like Taiga at first, I didn't expect much from her other than to be a one dimensional character that I'd get sick of, or at least bored with, pretty quickly. My low expectations were exceeded farther than I thought possible, and by the end, I absolutely adored her. The pool arc and especially the Christmas arc are what made me fall in love with her. I had zero issues with the ending. Ryuji has not only discovered, but has proven his love (on multiple levels) for Taiga by the end. The scene where she realizes that she's in love with him is one of the most emotionally impactful in the show IMO. She had grown enough to know how much she needed to grow up. She knew that until she could resolve as many of the issues she had that made her the "Palm Top Tiger", she would not be worthy of the love that Ryuji had for her, and had the courage to not run away, and instead to put in the necessary work to be that person. In the end, the fact that she came back said all that needed to be said. She's not transformed into Snow White. There's no unrealistic "and then magic happened" change into a perfect person. She's still Taiga, but just a better version, and one that believes that she's worthy of being loved by someone that she holds in such high regard as Ryuji. She knows and has professed her love for Ryuji, and I got the feeling that with everything that happened up to the ending, they should be able to work through pretty much anything once married. Again, no unrealistic "and they lived happily ever after", but a feeling that they'll be okay. And in life, being okay is the best that most of us can hope for. When all is said and done, she's not perfect, and she's not unrecognizable from the Taiga that we meet in ep. 1, she's developed into a character that I just love.

There was a Visual Novel sequel(?) where Ryuji gets amnesia, everyone plays coy as to what their relationship to him is, and the player gets to attempt to get the girl they want. Apparently, you can try to romance the mother, who weirdly tolerates it for a year lol

I like that a good ending was at least implied by them meeting again. The story has to cut off somewhere because happily-ever-afters aren’t real. Their new normal became as a husband and wife and so that chapter of their story began and the one we’d been following ended. Days go on. Life goes on. Things change but time never stops.

My favorite anime ever, I almost cried when I found out no more seasons were coming 😭

I watched this anime in one sitting, It was the next day when I finished it. Then I wasn't able to sleep after because of post anime depression.

All they need is an OVA or mini movie of taiga and Ryu getting married, your fav girl getting a guy she can depend on as that is what she needed, some one to keep her straight, the rest can find their happiness in college etc. Just something to show us that it ends well for them, also the same should be said of Hormiya and Maid Sama, those also need a little something for the fans, i would like to see all those couple get married have kids and whole nine yards, like Clannad Afterstory with out the heart ripping gut wrenching sorrow of that show lol.

Ami is The best character in my opinion. She is really deep. I like her more and more by every rewatch

One of the reasons why I love this show is because it parallels how my wife and I got together. We were friends trying to help each other with their love life.

I recently watched this with my friend and my god, we were moved. Taiga leaving painfully reminded me of Jobless Reincarnation ending.

I watched this because I wanted a quick show to give me some dopamine during an emotional slump and it made it better! and then killed me emotionally!

And a Flawless Rollercoaster I got no regrets of have been experienced

If I have to be honest, I watched this anime from start to finish, I watched it all with the most blankest expression like I was the moyai face, I didn't feel anything, happiness, anger, sadness no none of that, ALTHOUGH I was confused because after I saw the final scene I was like wait what the fuck happened and I decided to rewatch it later, I felt like I had Alzheimers or something(spoiler I never rewatched and I forgo what happened)

I watched the whole thing, but struggled to do so. Palm-Top Tiger annoys the hell out of me.
