TORAH Vs Manis Friedman PART II (MORE SHOCKING EVIDENCE)
• TORAH Vs Manis Friedm...
Full Shiur: MUSSAR Iggeret HaRAMBAN PART (29) The Torah vs The Satan
• The Torah vs The Satan...
1) The Chafetz Chaim Laws of Lashon Hara 4:7-8 says:
"One is allowed to repeat the wrongdoings of one who was raised in a religious environment and has cast off the yoke of Heaven. The reasoning is simple. If we allow a Rasha to rise up unchecked in our midst and we do not take a stand against the evil, our silence is not counted as righteousness, but as foolishness for allowing a cancer to grow unhindered."
2) Speaking Lashon Hara About a Heretic
The prohibition against speaking Lashon Hara applies when spoken about someone who is considered “amitecha”עמיתך (of your people), namely in observance of Torah and mitzvot. However, regarding those who are recognizably “apikorsim” (heretics), it is a mitzvah (fulfillment of a positive commandment) to disparage and shame them, to their face and behind their back, for everything that one witnesses or hears about them. The Torah states (Lev. 25:17 & Lev. 19:16) “One should not wrong his fellow” and “Do not act as a talebearer among your people,” but heretics do not fit under this category for they do not act as “your people.” Therefore, we follow the practice (as taught in Avot D’Rabbi Natan, a work from the Talmudic era), “those who hate you, L-rd, I will hate, and your rebellious ones I will dispute.” An “apikorus” (heretic) is one who denies the laws and prophecies of Israel, whether the Written Law or Oral Law. Even if he says, “All the Torah is true with the exception of one Scriptural verse, kal v’chomer, g’zeira shava, or one grammatical detail,” he is included in this category. ["Kal v’chomer” and "g’zeira shava” are Talmudic terms for two of the logical principles from which we understand many laws.] even intentionally wish to destroy it.
Source: Chafetz Chaim klal 8 seif 5
Rabbi Yaron Reuven explains that suffering is a sign that you are not fulfilling your obligations to learn Torah. He emphasizes that sins, especially those that disconnect you from HaShem, are the root cause of unhappiness. He goes on to explain how studying Torah brings a person closer to HaShem and can even lead to the ability to revive the dead.
He also discusses the importance of fearing HaShem, not just for punishment but also for the sake of the relationship. He argues that fear of HaShem allows a person's prayers to be heard and inspires the world to listen to them. Rabbi Reuven then delves into the consequences of not believing in punishment or reward, arguing that it undermines the entire purpose of Torah and leads to a destructive path.
Finally, he addresses the need to be vigilant against heretics and those who distort Torah teachings. He stresses that it is a mitzvah to speak out against those who spread falsehoods about HaShem, and that a complete understanding of Torah will dispel any confusion about its clear teachings on reward and punishment.

01:15, "If you forgot to make a blessing..." I literally had a beverage IN MY HAND while listening to that, realized I had forgotten to make a blessing (she-ha-kol), and immediately made the blessing. Then I paused the video to make this comment so that the Rabbi knows he has earned part of the merit for reminding me.

You are making a category error. Friedman downplays reward and punishment because it no longer motivates people, it often drives those who are not very observant further away. Instead he says, "don't bother with all that, just focus on the mitzvot." He does joking talk about sinning, but at the end of the day his message is, once a person starts doing mitzvahs, they will realize how bad their sins are and stop those. For example, you made an argument against his statement of brushing off homosexuality. But, Friedman has given the example of a woman who was living with another woman, and he told her to keep modesty laws anyway. What happens? A few months later, she moves out and stops talking with the woman. *Friedman's approach is not that reward and punishment is not part of Judaism, but rather that it is not the starting place-mitzvot are.*

Rabbi Friedman has been doing a tremendous work, inspiring thousands to love and serve hashem. Over the past fifty years he brought back thousands of Jews to the Torah and Judaism. So many people with their kids and grandkids are now religious on rabbi Friedman's merit. If anybody is confused by this video, please do yourself a favor and watch Rabbi Friedman's full lecture, not just some beats and pieces taken TOTALLY out of context. (And btw you might gain a lot if you choose to listen to this special rabbi, who carries the message of דרכי' דרכי נועם and אהבתי אתכם אמר ה'. He surely believes in reward and punishment. As far as homosexuality: Obviously it's a toeva. Listening to the entire lecture within context will reveal that it is not regarding the literal meaning of the verse that Rabbi Friedman has qualms, ch"v. In fact, taking a Torah-keeping Jew who has no less knowledge than you do of Torah, and out of all the many lectures that he gives in which he finely proves his Torah-keeping stance, and then extracting an instance here and there of what can be perceived as speaking against the Torah while in truth being totally out of context, does nothing to your merit, and on the contrary goes to show how limited your own understanding is of deep matters. Shallow, to say the least... Rabbi Friedman is speaking about the perspective of Chassidut in avodat Hashem. He is explaining that the fact that something is a toeiva etc. is because it is so in the eyes of God, which is why it is described as such in the Torah. If we were to be living as tzaddikim on the highest level, obviously we would see homosexuality as a toeiva, but at least as much as, say, eating something not kosher. Both are disgusting on the same level when it comes to yechida she'banefesh, which is a level that tzaddikim are more in tune with. When it comes to our avodas Hashem, Rabbi Friedman explains over and over in many of his lectures, it is crucial that it becomes part of our lives, and not just something that we try to "dress up as." He urges his listeners not to trick themselves into thinking that they are of a higher level than they are (tamim tihiyeh im Hashem Elokecha etc. etc.). The reason, then, that homosexuality is bad is because Torah said so, rather than having to try and convince ourselves that it is some to'eiva. Obviously he was (clearly!) speaking in exaggerated terms, for the sake of making this point. It is a deep and complicated point and this isn't the time and place to go further into it, but he who cares about the truth will seek it out and listen to the entire lecture so that he can understand the depth of what Rabbi Friedman is suggesting...

Through his Rabbi I've been able to honestly know if I love Hashem because now I understand his precepts and seek success. That was not something I previously had. A pity that Rabbi Manis's points aren't understood by some frum people. Rabbi Manis has been mekarev to Yiddishkait thousands upon thousands of Jewish people, who are now Yereim Veshleimim. I don't know how many others, if any, have made so many Baalei Teshuva. He is a real Talmid Chacham, very knowledgeable in Torahs Hanigla and Torahs Hanistar. Rabbi Manis is a very wise man, who knows how to talk to non religious people and to get to their heart. He's been doing this for over forty years. Some frum people, who aren't knowledgeable enough, especially in Nistar, have difficultly understanding Rabbi Manis's points, and don't realize that Rabbi Manis doesn't make up anything he says, but has sources in Torah for everything he says.
@MendelMarozov
@MendelMarozov 4 жыл бұрын
Let me clarify something though it should be very simple and easy to understand. Rabbi Manis Friedman has been giving his talks and lectures for many years to non religious people and they love his talks and it brings them closer to Yiddishkait. These talks were not meant for frum people. Just that today because of social media frum people get to see his talks but if they're not familiar with Rabbi Manis and aren't aware who he's really talking to they may have a problem with what he says. It should be quite obvious that if you approach a non religious person and tell them that if they don't keep Shabbos or Kosher or have inappropriate relationships they deserve to be stoned or the like they will not start keeping any of these Mitzvas but will think that Judaism is just cruel.. So one needs to talk to them in a manner that they can handle and to show them the beauty of Torah and Mitzvas. Veten lachochom veyechkam od.

Rabbi Manis Friedman is an expert in the teachings of the Tanya. He is also a very experienced psychologist and he is more interested in ppl keeping torah out of love for Hashem then out of fear. Until chassidut came along torah was only for those who were lucky enough to be able to study or came from a rabbinical family. Chassidut revealed the tremendous love Hashem has for every one of us no matter what. It is a love that is beyond logic. Like the unconditional love of a parent. When Chassidut was born there were big fights between those with the traditional approach and the chassidim because just like this Rabbi is saying, by revealing Hashems love we would stop being afraid to sin. But it’s not true at all. I personally moved from the first approach to the Chassidut (Breslov) approach and now that I know how much Hashem loves me, I am happy to serve him and to pray and don’t want to sin, not because I don’t want to be punished but because I don’t want to disconnect myself from Him. The laws He made are how we connect. Each mitzva, may seem like just a ritual act but it is a lot more than that!!!! So this Rabbi is just not understanding where Rabbi Friedman is coming from. Rabbi Friedman is coming down to our level, and teaches the torah in a way so as to avoid our becoming frustrated with ourselves or angry with G-d. And he does so with a very good sense of humor!!! Nothing wrong with that.

@AndyOfJerusalem 4 жыл бұрын
Yes Rabbi Friedman misspoke when when he said that it's not an abomination, because that is the standard translation of the term used by Torah. But his point about all mitzvot being important and it's not right for each of us to judge the other for his sins is correct. Sometimes people can be cruel in their judgement. When you go to the creator you think he is going to say something like, I won't even talk to you until you change your profile picture? You think he is going to tell you you are acting like an animal and denigrate all of your sincere efforts to learn Torah and know the creator? We all have our beliefs about the creator. I believe He will greet me with laughter and a smile like Rabbi Friedman, not like the speaker in this video.

Well said my friend. You made this post and now I don’t need to do so. That’s the point. Rabbi Friedman is coming for baal teshuvim from completely non observant to conservative etc. He’s going for people who have turned Judaism into a religion. Where “now I must wrap teffilin, now I have to daven, now I’ve got to drop what I’m doing and get ready for Shabbat”. He’s turning that mentality into “oh I GET to wrap teffilin and in so doing literally connect with my Creator HaShem Yitborach!” That takes it from rigid religion to a beautiful personally connection and lifestyle. Some like the Mussar way. I don’t begrudge them. But speaking as a baal teshuva who knows many others, I can tell you that Many more baal teshuvim are created and reached through the kiruv of Chassidic groups than others. Ahavath Yisroel is important. I understand where these rabbis are coming from, but I think they are misrepresenting and not showing the points that Rabbi Friedman is making. His style is typically to catch you up front with a “provocative” statement like “G-d needs you” and then knowing full well that sounds contrary, he then goes on to layout the thought process and define his terms and then after 10-60 minutes he wraps it up.

I was lost for a while because of my stepfather’s brutality. But his brutality he did in the name of God. But there is no God in brutality. Rabbi Manis is not Brutal, but he is a smiling deceiver. When someone misleads you with a smile, it is more dangerous than when someone misleads you with brutality. Because brutality is easy to reject. Only notzrim think everyone burns except for yoshke believers, do the mitzvot, and constantly do Teshuva, every day, don’t sin, if you are a noahide, then you have laws too, keep them and you will also get heaven (Shamayim). Hashem punishes you because as someone else said it is the outcome of sin, but Hashem can also punish in this world, which is much less painful. Don’t give up on doing Teshuva just because “you will burn anyway” (which isn’t entirely true, it’s more like eternal punishment). Please watch Rabbi yaaron Reuven gehinnom movie. Im curious, why you feel you have the authority to "call out" all of these Rabbis? A lot of what you're arguing is nuanced. Im being objective here, you are very hateful and busy criticizing those around you... maybe you should stick to working on yourself and teaching Torah to those who your style appeals to. Not every Rabbi is good for every person. You have a fire and brimstone approach, that while some people (sefardim in particular) may enjoy and find inspiring, but also that would turn many people off. Mannis Friedman has inspired thousands to keep Torah and Mitzvot and talk about the beauty and sanctity of Jewish Marriage.

Listen, the choice is simple. Problem is that people are mislead easily by good speakers who give them a dose to poison with the nice words. Hence, it can be hard to decipher who is speaking truth. When it comes to money they are first in line. But they hardly care about your average Jew. Rav Yaron Reuven shlita is speaking nothing but the truth. He is an accessible Rabbi without any barriers to access him and speak to him. He could have been a successful millionaire, but charges absolutely $0 for his lectures and classes now. His speech is true to every word of Torah, as he scrutinizes and introspects himself before giving a lecture. He is looking out for no one else's interests except that of his listeners. The choice is clearly yours; but you have already been told of who is really who.

Mark Weisshaus I know he is not a fraud. But you can choose whomever you want there are good Rabbi’s out there. The choice is yours. Things were said about the Lubavitcher Rebbe as well ????? And I know that this constitutes Lashon Harah !!!!!! There are two different teachings. One by Hillel and one by Shomai. One is stricter ,the other less strict ,but they are both right. So I myself like to take the stricter teaching ,others need more softer approach , As we are different in temperament and in nature. Not everyone can handle strictness. Some need a softer approachas I said Otherwise people will rebel altogether. I’ve seen this with my own children. It does not mean I don’t follow the Torah. I believe in everything the Torah says but there are different ways of teaching ,it not mean that I add or subtract chashveshalom. Some Rabbi’s give deeper meaning so they explain a lot more details , others just get straight to the point. We are not all baked from the same mold each child must be taught according to what he/she understands . We must be cautious in branding the Rabbis. Because we teach in a different way. I’m not saying that there are not dangerous so called Rabbis out there. There are certainly frauds out there using their own ideology and destroying our people. These are the ones we need to concerned about. But we must choose the ones that we resonate with and can learn from. So that’s why we have been given choices. But to speak badly about good Rabbis. Does not sit well with Hashem at all. There are some people for some reason have bad things to say about The Lubavitcher Rebbe. And that would be bad for the one speaking ,we all have our unique way of teaching the Torah way. There are many interpretations. That is the only thing that upsets me when Rabbis think that they are perfect and don’t err???!!! I don’t agree with this kind of teaching by badmouthing others. That’s why the Temple was destroyed just because of this. There was no togetherness only separation. That is not what Hashem wants. That’s why we get smacked, that’s one of the reasons. It must always be Torat Emet but choose what you like for you. That is most important. And also live our lives accordingly. So we all of us need to work very hard on ourselves and live and breath the Torah to make it our very own. Thank you. May you succeed in doing just that. Blessings to you and yours. Chazak!!!!!!! I really would like you to pass this on to the Rabbonim that have so much to say. With my permission . There are people that have things to say about me too but nobody’s glove 🧤 fits everyone’s hand. 🙏Hashem Echad!!!!!! Ein Od Milvado. !!!!!!!!! ❤️

I met a Jew who was working at a supermarket in a certain large city. I was new to the area. This guy was quite friendly. He invited me to visit his schul. But when I got home I looked the schul up on the Internet and found in was exclusively for homosexuals. I was insulted, felt betrayed! I never returned to that market. How can this Friedman guy so openly promote hilul haShem?

Rabbi I feel as strongly as you Re: the Torah. But I must explain please don’t run Chabad down. The rabbi’’s are bringing people back. Where before they didn’t do anything for whatever reason . These people that are learining . Most of these people can only learn simple Torah others can do more. You must always remember Hashem created us all differently. With different levels of intellectual ability. Some can’t learn at all but they are present. So their nashamah is listening. There are those that need more gevurah and others need more kindness. I’ve seen what. Goes on. We should not judge the rabbi’s so harshly I think Truly you really do not know what is going on. We need to be more cautious in judgement. Maybe In Hashem’s eyes you may be doing the aveira by speaking so much about Chabad and what they are doing or not doing. I feel like one of the luckier ones that knows the difference. Hushem is a just G-D and sees and knows all. He Created us . So maybe we should focus more ourselves doing strong Teshuvah as we really do not know at the end of the day what is acceptable to Hashem. We can never know. But remember they are teaching These people Torah Emet . We all do what we are capable of doing. The heart and intention is very important. Hashem sees us all. There is a lot more I can say. But I think I’ve said enough. I’ll leave the rest to you Rabbi’s to do what you are doing. You are right and Chabad is also right they do stick to the Torah. There are other groups that one could worry about. No one but no one is perfect I respect you and Rabbi Mizrachi. But when it comes to Chabad rather let Hashem judge them. I’m a Chabad. But I listen to really good rabbi’s out of Chabad and you are both that I listen to a lot. I do agree in your way of teaching. But there is another way as well depending on the kind of audience you are teaching. Please I ask you to not only see your side. I hope I will get some input from the Two of you. Thank you kind Regards Bracha . Hashem Echad !!!!!! Ein Od Milvado.!!!!!!!!! 💞together. As one people one nation one child one family all doing the same thing in a different way as long as it’s Torah Emet no adding no subtracting. Thank you

Daily Thought Kosher Toes Another thing about your kosher inner animal: Having a split hoof means it points in two directions at once. That's important. Because if you want your animal to shine, never let it go in just one direction. It has to go to the right-to reach out to others and pull them close. And at the same time, it has to go to the left-not to compromise when integrity is at risk. For example, if you want to help someone find their path in Torah and life, it has to be with love. But if the love bends the Torah, in the end, there's neither Torah nor love. That's the path to truth: Always go in two opposite directions at once. Likutei Sichot vol. 1, pg. 222.
