I love your presentation. ❤. It reduces my fears about using torches. Makes me feel that I can push myself forward as I aim toward making my own jump rings. Thank you again.

You had me at demystified😅 Perfect opening paragraph, grabbed me right away. Question about face Shields. I did get a really good pair of eye protection where my eyes are completely sealed so nothing can get in. I look like I'm going skiing, but I don't care. I want to protect my eyes at all costs. My question is, can I use the covid face Shields?. I mean I'm not making Thor's hammer.

You will want to make sure to follow any safety guidelines listed on your torch. The top priority is protecting your eyes with appropriate eye protection. As for covering your face, it depends what kind of covid face shield you are referring to. If you are using a full face plastic shield, that could help protect your eyes and face along with eye protection. If you are referring to the standard covid masks that cover the nose and mouth, then they could provide a small amount of protection to the mouth and nose, but if you are torching something that gives off any fumes, these masks may not be designed to filter those specific chemicals. If you are using it to protect against toxic fumes, be sure to ensure that the type of mask you are using is rated to protect again the type of fumes you may be creating. In that case it would most likely require a respirator over a covid mask. Again, in either case, be sure to refer to the safety guidelines on your torch or material you are working with. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Can you use the propane torch inside your house, like if you don’t have a garage or a studio? Are there any precautions when using this type of torch? Like should it be used outdoors? I’m just talking about for a beginner jewelry maker that would only be using the torch intermittently? Thank you so much for your video, it has been quite helpful.

We can offer suggestions, but before use please review the manufacturers information for your torch first and follow any safety guidelines listed. Any guidelines listed in the manufacturers information, should take priority over any tips or suggestions in this video or in the comments. If possible we recommend using the torch outside or in a garage or studio, but if a torch is used in your home, you will want to make sure that you use it in an open, well ventilated area, maybe opening doors or windows to increase ventilation. Avoid firing objects that are combustible or may create smoke. Always wear gloves and eye protection, keep loose hair and clothing secured and away from the flame, and have a fire extinguisher available. For torches without a stand, make sure that you have a fire/heat resistant block or pad to set the torch down on as it can remain hot for an extended period of time after use. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Do any of the torches have a flame adjustment?
@FireMountainGems
@FireMountainGems 10 ай бұрын
Yes, the Micro Torch, Max Flame Torch, Torch Burner Professional, & EUROTOOL HANDY Flame II all have a fuel adjustment. The Hyper Torch is the only one in the video that does not have an adjustment.

I do have a good question for you in reguards to brazeing Will a butan torch set up be enough for brazeing and if so what size rods to use with it Thank you in advance
@FireMountainGems
@FireMountainGems 5 ай бұрын
Most butane torches should work to braze. Be sure to check that the torch can reach a temperature high enough to melt the brazing rod. The rods are not something we carry, so we can't speak to exactly what size you would need. Be sure to check that the rods you are using are compatible with the metal you are trying to braze.

Thanks for you video. Which one Can melted metal?
@FireMountainGems
@FireMountainGems 8 ай бұрын
They will all get hot enough to eventually melt most metals, but that is not the intended purpose. The flame is concentrated to a single area, so if you are looking to melt metal into a usable liquid, it would be best to use a foundry. Melting metal can be dangerous and should only be done with the proper training and equipment.
