Mobiles, landlines, tin cans with bits of string. No phones, phones all broken, "hello, anyone there?" No, because the phones aren't working! Still the best scene. But Ianto is so adorable the way he looks at Jack as he's laughing.

The fact that I got to use a variant of that line in a LARP describing how I didn't want a character to have access to any kind of communications device was great.

I want to believe that the scream was unscripted. That they told him that something else was going to go off and to act shocked but in reAlity rigged that to explode and it scared him witless. And the glare was actually to the production team This probably didn't happen but I can pretend

Lucie Ellis They do use the element of surprise to get genuine reactions from actors quite often so it is probable.

Honestly, I don't know a single person that reacts to something startling by yelling like this. It's always more of a very loud gasping noise, and of course yelling is better for the comedy effect. As much as I want to believe it too, I think it was scripted. Still one of the best startling scenes I've ever seen, accompanied by Martha startled by Jack coming back to life and the cat scene in Boondock Saints.

Castiel Dizon I watched it and found it really boring and predictable, too much like a typical action movie with cat chases and loads of American characters. There were sad moments that were probably meant to make me cry but I felt absolutely nothing

Ianto screaming is just about the most hilarity-inducing sound I've ever heard in my life! And the look he throws Owen after picking himself off the ground is positively EVIL. He composes himself so swiftly after the 'attack', it's quite remarkable, actually.
