"Bloody Torchwood." It's a running joke, both within the show and the fandom, that everyone in Cardiff knows who and what Torchwood is, in spite of them ostensibly being a secret organisation. Series 1 had its fair share of teething issues, but I feel like with series 2 Chris Chibnall and the other writers took note of what worked about the previous run and what didn't, and took that on board. As a result, series 2 feels like a massive improvement in quality - the tone is much more tongue-in-cheek and takes itself a lot less seriously; the surface level attempts to be "edgy" and "adult" are eschewed in favour of more actually mature stories; Gwen and Owen's affair has basically been dropped, and the relationships between the characters are developed a lot more; in general, Owen is made to be a much more likeable character this time around. In general, this series is loads of fun, and will also provide a lot of mature and emotional storylines along the way. Also, plenty of others have already commented on it, but it has been established since his first appearance in Doctor Who that Jack is pansexual ("he's a 51st century guy, he's a little more flexible when it comes to 'dancing'."), and it stands to reason that John has a similar orientation, and it's somewhat implied that the remaining members of Torchwood swing both ways to some extent

The episode Jack was in was series 3 Doctor who, utoipa and with the master, where the doctor found out he was the face of boe, and torchwood and Sarah Jane adventures are seasons, Classic who is Season, New who is series, classic who season 1, u can't have new who season 1 cause its not season one it's idk wat season it is lol 😂 😂 but its series 1 for it.

I don't think there's a genuine attraction between Jack and Gwen, Jack is just incredibly flirty. Jack is also consistently written/portrayed as being omnisexual

The whole ethos of the sexuality of Torchwood is the highlight the fact it doesn't matter who you're attracted to. Jack is sexually charismatic and therefore naturally draws people in; Gwen is taken aback by this charisma and doesn't know how to cope with her feelings about him. In fact it could be argued that her affair with Owen was a surrogate for her desire for Jack. As for why she hasn't told Rhys - well, he did and he reacted badly. If you knew how someone was going to react if you told them something, would you still tell them? As you said, the only thing it'd do is hurt Rhys and what would be the point of that?

When Jack's character was first introduced on Doctor Who, the Doctor explained to Rose that everyone in that time period was omnisexual. So having James Marsters character and his act that way is the only way to be consistent with that history. I'm not sure i agree that his flirting with everyone is meant to be serious, though - it seems to me like he just likes flirting with everyone, and it's all very casual. I think his relationship with Ilanto seems a bit more serious and emotionally involved, but we'll have to wait and see how that plays out. Gwen and Reese both seem straight as far as I can tell, though they are indeed the only ones on the show. I agree having almost every character be bi sometimes takes me out of the show, but it is what it is. I think Jack's character was considered to be a pretty major one for the LGBTQ community at the time, and the show definitely tried to capitalize on that.

I like season 2 of Torchwood, all the characters get scenes that the actors can really sink their teeth into.

And as for Gwen/Reese/Owen - I really don't think there are any feelings between Gwen and Owen, that's just a sex thing. While Gwen really does love Reese, which is why she's marrying him. I agree her actions are really bad in that respect, obviously. But I think the show means to make you feel bad about that relationship, and I think she's sabotaging her own relationship with Reese out of a desire for action and adventure, while Reese is the boring, safe, in the dark option at home that she can always go back to. It's not a great character trait, but I don't think the show is trying to make it out to be good either. You're meant to wonder what the heck she's doing.

I don't think everybody is bisexual? Jack's attitudes towards sex and sexuality come from the distant future and he's a playful flirt with everybody. I don't think there are any romantic feelings going on between Gwen and Jack. With the exception of Tosh who expressed that it was new for her in Greeks Bearing Gifts where she was dealing with a psychic alien trying to get close to her everyone other than Jack and Ianto have shown exclusively heterosexual attraction so far

I'm pretty sure in Doctor Who, they explained that 51st century men are into pretty much anything and they have special pheromones that attract pretty much everyone to them. So even if the person is straight, they'd still be attracted to Jack. For me, that's why sexuality in the show is so fluid.
