La Vie En Rose I only say underrated, because people fail to recognize how special this girl is. I’m a huge fan of her, and after listening to her songs I realized how she’d rather live it this way, than to have her do things she’s uncomfortable doing just for the fame. That’s why I have so much respect and love for Tori. She’s exceptionally different ☺️💜

This actually deserves a billion views. The melody and arrangement are just insane. I mean in 2018 or 2019, most new singers would release the same beat with no thrill and snap. It's just disappointing the Tori Kelly isn't that much recognized. I hate that fact.

She sound like a mix between Mariah, Ariana Grande, and Alicia Keys. A good, powerful range, a very natural sound, and some frickin' amazing vocal runs. This song may not be the most beautifully written or most powerful song ever, but for what it is it does a great job of showing Tori's competence as a vocalist and a pop star. This is the kind of singer aspiring stars should look up too.

Tyler Petty I can hear both Christina and Mariah in Tori's voice. Mariah's influence is more apparent though (to my ears, at least). Tori's vocal runs are crisp and clear and has this seamless quality to it, like Mariah's. She also has a pretty decent low register, which Mariah possesses (Christina's lows are good as well, but I prefer Mariah's. XD). To top it all off, both of them, I believe, are coloratura sopranos. However, Tori's voice is not as technical as Mariah's. She's similar to Christina in that aspect. For me, Mariah's voice, while beautiful, is pretty one-dimensional. Don't get me wrong, Mariah is an extremely versatile singer but her voice always seems THE SAME to me. Xtina's voice comes in different texture, weight, etc. Indeed, it's achieved through larynx depression, unhealthy technique blah blah, doesn't change the fact that her voice is multi-dimensional. Similarly, Tori can play with the textures of her voice as well. She can deliver a vocal with rasp, cleanly, lightly, sharply, and etc. I guess, as mentioned, I can hear all the different influences from other artists in tori's voice. I can also hear some JoJo in her voice.

I remember seeing Tori on American Idol. I remember when Tori uploaded covers years ago. I remember when I knew Tori's songs before they even got a million views. I remember telling all of my friends to listen to Tori because none of them were aware of her. I remember that I would get excited if someone actually knew who she was because that's how underrated she was. I remember seeing her grow through youtube. I remember knowing every lyric to every song of her that are still underrated. I remember finding out Tori was nominated for Grammy. I remember Tori losing to Grammy Meghan Trainor. I remember Tori being considered the best new artist. I'm a real Tori fan and I want to make more memories of her because she's just absolutely fabulous. I've been there to see every move she takes and I will continue being there Unfortunately, she'll never know, but that's okay.
