To be fair, Stone Hill to me also felt like an extension of the home world, but I actually kinda love it like that.

Tree Tops is a nightmare

A big part of your frustration with Wizard Peak is why it's one of my favourites, and my favourite levels in the original Spyro tend to be the ones with more intricate exploration like Treetops because I loved the satisfaction of figuring out how to find an area or last few gems. Also yeah the music is great

I have a very weird relationship with Beast Makers levels. Tree Tops is my favorite level in the game, Misty Bog my most hated, Terrace Village I would forget entirely if it weren't for the dragons, Metalhead is my favorite boss, and Wild Flight I hate.

I hate and love High Caves. It's worse in Reignited because the Metalback Spiders now look like spiders instead of flat stag beetles. Creepy.

I love sunny beach but only because i had a demo disc that had it on there and i played it 70 times over, max nostalgia when i get to it hehe

Well this should be intere- "Number 4 - Seashell Shore" Get out. Nah, but seriously, I understand why a lot of these are on here, and I agree with a fair few of them. Honestly, most of my least favourites stem from irritating minigames rather than me outright hating the level in general, so any I consider from Spyro 1 are more forgettable than bad, like Terrace Village. With Tree Tops, I hated it as a kid, but now I know what to do, I love it. Chaining supercharges together is so much fun, and it's a shame that mechanic was underutilised and then forgotten about in the sequels. Anyways, I'm still waiting for my copy of Reignited to turn up, so seeing this in my inbox was a welcome surprise.

With the exception of your 1st one here, i love how our personal lists are inverted. Here are some of my favourite levels, while on your fav list are some of the one i truely hate to play. They surely were able to mmake them memorable

So, I know this video is like 2 years old but I really have a funny thing to say about spooky swamp. My copy of the game had a glitch in the escort the Fireflies mini game where the mushrooms were already stomped and I got two eggs just by watching the Fireflies go without doing anything. Also, they look like everything but fireflies

You've just reminded me of a whole bunch of levels (er, realms. I love that you call them that!) that I loathe. I had so many frustrated moments as a kid trying to get through the same challenges as you!

On the flip side, I love Tree Tops!! Beast Makers is my favorite realm in Spyro 1 (I love swampy themed levels) but even looking back at it, I have to admit, it feels like less effort was put into this realm next to the others.. Tree Tops stands out to me among the other earthier looking realms. It's a mix of the open space with the huge amount of exploring you can do that makes it so much fun!

actually glad to find someone else who just wants to enjoy the game and it's story without having a huge wall just for the sake of challenge.

I really dislike Sunny Beach because as a kid I thought "wow, Sunny Beach! That stage will be gorgeous!" and it turned out to be really industrial-looking for most of the level. I still haven't forgiven the design. :'D

I think you're actually pretty spot on here although I do highly disagree with wizards peak as that's probably my favorite level in Spyro one, probably top 5 in the whole trilogy. I think it's the music that gets me so hard for that level.

That demolition tank minigame in Haunted Tombs was the real final boss in Spyro 3.

I'd switch Tree Tops with Misty Bog

Somehow by some miracle I actually managed to get Bombo's (renamed Bob apparently) achievement. (Which are separate from skill points because reasons) If you are not aware his achievement in Reignited is to never get hit once when doing all three of his missions. If you get hit a single time you have to reload the level completely. (Or so I have heard) So I regret to inform you that if you want to try and get the platinum trophy for Spyro 2 Reignited you are in for a HORRIBLE time.

Ah, interesting choices! I'd probably put Terrace Village in my number 10(-ish) least favourite spot. It's not actively offensive to me in any way... nor is it exciting, admittedly... Perhaps an odd choice, but I'd nominate Shady Oasis from Spyro 2. The soundtrack was basically taking the sample of Scorch and making it less good. The level itself had some redeeming factors (I like running on/swimming in lava), and those dinosaur(?!) things were kinda cute when they ate apples and became huge, but all in all I found the whole thing a bit meh. ...and Aquaria Towers. The sharks in that level freaked me out as a kid. I still feel uneasy when playing it. Cool concept, shame about those sharks.

All of my picks would come from Spyro 1, not a big fan of that game at all but Ripto’s Rage and Year of the Dragon contain some of my fondest gaming memories. Fracture Hills from Spyro 2 always brought on some dread for me because of the Alchemist mission and the commando lunging bushes that would eat you, absolutely terrified me how some bushes were harmless but others you could see their eyes from a distance

Good list! Tree Tops is definitely a royal pain. I've done runs of the game where I hadn't died (I'm personally very proud of doing so when I can cuz I died a lot before I actually got good at the game). Tree Tops will kill me at least once during the SuperCharge portion, even if I don't jump off the last ramp quite right and i wind up going down inside of up. Haunted Tomb, the hovercraft mini-game wasn't so difficult when I learned to flush them out one at a time, but Agent 9 is definitely hard. Most of his levels, I wasn't any good at.

I totally agree with the list, except for number 4, it is a level I´d hate because I´m not fan of water levels in videogames, but that one is weird because I enjoy playing it

Tree Tops will also be stuck in my head as least favourite. As a kid I could never work the supercharges. It's easy now but the damage is done. Also Aquaria Towers because I don't particularly like water levels, I find Spyro difficult to manoeuvre, however I still love the concept of the level. Least favourite mini game was possibly the two dragons in Fireworks Factory, just so tedious. Great list though, can agree somewhere with all of it :)

In regards to the ghost diaper thing, if I had to take a wild guess, and this is just a shot in the dark, I'd say it's likely a reference to Capcom's Arcade classic, Ghosts 'N Goblins. If you don't know, in that game you play as a knight named Arthur who after taking a single hit loses his knight's armor and is then left in his underwear. While subsequent sequels made them into boxer shorts, the original had him in tighty-whitey briefs, which can rather easily look like a diaper. One thing I always found odd is that they changed the color of the briefs from white to red when they made the NES port. This is all just a guess like I said, but seeing how the enemies are dressed up as ghosts, I wouldn't put it past them. On an unrelated note, that skateboard race from hunters looks very similar to the hoverboard race in the first Ratchet & Clank game. I'm guessing Insomniac recycled the idea.

Least favorite levels from Spyro 1: Sunny Flight Night Flight Crystal Flight Wild Flight Icy Flight Tree Tops (only because of that one jump) Lol as you can see I don't like any of the flight levels, except for Gnasty's Loot. Been about 10 years since I've touched Spyro 2 and 3 so I have no opinion at the moment on my least favorite levels/mini games.

I also didint like beast makers in general as a kid, but after finish spyro one in the reignited trilogy, it became my favourite levels. They did an amazing job with these levels.

In wizard peak I didn’t know you get the wizard from the back I was able to get him with the supercharge after trying it for 20 minutes. But that’s good to know now that I know it

I never played the realms in the original games, but I had played them in Reignited. When I got to Seashell Shore, I was honestly shocked about the seals' stupidity. As you stated in the video, they have no regards to to the safety of anyone around them. Two of the seals could have killed the baby dragons in the egg each of them had not for the magic protecting them. The magic around the eggs could only protect them so much, and might have came super close to being destroyed. During my play through, I had Spyro charge at the seal who shot an egg through the tunnel for like 30 seconds because I feel he deserved it for his stupidity.

As much as Mystic Marsh peeved me when I was a kid I really don't have any realms I outright hate in Spyro 2. Granted I was incredibly angry to find that the easiest speedway was the last one in the game and I did not enjoy starting the speedways over and over again after the timer expired or that magnetic water pulled me in as I tried to torch the people in boats. Most of my gripes come in the form of Spyro 3 with annoying missions. For instance that tunnel mission in Seashell Shore that is actually harder than the tunnel in Dino Mines. That was a horrendous mistake. As for Spyro 1 I just have less fun in general as his charge to me feels, well very dated, (Also charge hopping has almost not height to it) and Reignited while making the charging feel much better for Spyro 1 in my opinion commits the absolute sin of not giving you the hover. Yeah you don't NEED the hover in Spyro 1 but it make it a hell of a lot easier. Overall I say to hell with a large quantity of the missions in Spyro 3.

Either the escort mini game in spooky swamp got easier in the reignited trilogy, or i just got better at it. To my surprise, i just needed 2 tries to finish it.

A lot of them I agree with. Lost Fleet, Seashell Shore, Spooky Swamp, Scorch. The reason I hate Spooky Swamp is not only because of the escort challenge but because I get it mixed up with Hurricos. Going into Hurricos, I always think the escort part is in there. Surely they could have kept the original design of the fireflies in there instead of making the Electrolls a different colour.

Thought I was the only one who appreciated Spooky Swamp's score. Hell a lot of the tracks that seem to have someone "speaking" as part of it stick in my mind. :D

Biggest issue Ive always had with Sunny Beach (and also Fracture Hills and Shady Oasis) they made the bizarre decision to force you to backtrack to these levels, but also made it so that levels reset to how they were before you enter after you get the talismans. Theres a reason games like Banjo Kazooie, where the levels reset when you leave, doesn't also have backtracking. Whether you have to reactivate power ups or open up the whole level a 2nd time, its unnecessary repitition. Ive never heard of a platformer forcing you to replay levels you've already played for no reason. you have to use super percise speedruning glitches if you don't want to unnecessarily play those 3 levels twice. Every other level doesnt have this issue

Spyro sums it up perfectly when he encounters that hard to reach dragon. 6. Turtle Soup....ugh.... XD 5. Eww... That stupid flying genie... 4. Even as a kid, I only found this level to be meh. The tunnel in Dino Mines is harder in my opinion though 3. I hate this level even to this day. It's not fun to look at, hope Reignited will be better. 2. YES... When a great amount of gems are under the acid lake... Or that ridiculous submarine mini game... 1. I honestly didn't expect this one as number 1. Makes sense though

I really like Lost Fleet for how desolate and eerie it is. I feel it's truly the only level in Spyro that can be classified as genuinely creepy. A lot of people hate that the Greatest Hits version of the game uses this bizarre remix of Sheila's Alp as the theme, but I honestly feel like it works. It adds an element of something being "off" about this realm and I love it. I actually think the sub minigame is super fun and relaxing. I also love Tree Tops from a design standpoint. My favorite parts of Spyro 1 were the hard-to-reach secret areas, and figuring out the correct method of getting to that dragon was super satisfying once I figured it out.

Sheesh, Tori...this one hurts a little. But I totally get your reasoning.. Want to know something funny? The only difference in opinion, that affects a stage's standing on either list...is that you hated the Spooky Swamp mini-game, while I'm more indifferent to it. That difference seperates it from being on your least favorites, and it being one of my personal favorites. And actually, some of the worlds on your list will also be on my least favorite...for pretty much the same reasons. That's said, here's mine: Honorable Mentions: Icy Peak (least favorite ice level) Charmed Ridge (Not into fairies, they are to me what deserts are to you) Sgt. Byrd's Base (layout somewhat confused me as a kid), Haunted Tower (same as Ridge) Mystic Marsh (outside the scavenger hunt, one of the most forgettable levels for me in the series) 10. Stone Hill (1) -- It's a fine level one, but I find it a bit lifeless. The atmosphere doesn't do it for me. 9. Zephyr (2) -- aka "Breeze Harbour's forgettable brother world." Not a fan of the NPC design, or the Romeo/Juliet mission (Ridge did that better) 8. Molten Crater (3) -- Not a fan of these tiki-centric realms. Idol Springs was MUCH better 7. Sunny Beach (2) -- Same reasons you mentioned. "Aquaria Towers" was a better water level, as was Seashell shore 6. Desert Tomb (3) -- I didn't hate the tank mini-game. But the slide can just piss off. 5. Scorch (2) -- Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of desert stages (Desert Ruins almost made the list). But screw Bombo. 4. Misty Bog (1) -- The damn frogs. 3. Enchanted Towers (3) -- Don't dig the concept. Don't like that the music is just using Byrd's theme. And don't like the implementation of Byrd himself. The last two are the only ones that make my hair stand on end: 2. Lost Fleet (3) -- Yes, the exact same reasons you listed. I hated the skateboarding races, and the erratic aiming of the submarine's missiles were inconvenient. But I want to bring up a reason you didn't: the music is a bland recycling of Sheila's theme. But even with that said, I still can enjoy all of the stages I mention. The only level I audibly groan when I go to play it is... 1. Fracture Hills (2) -- Ugh, here it is. Where do I begin? Music is just a slight remix of Idol Spring theme, the god damn alchemist missions, satyrs being one of my least favorite fantasy creatures, THE GRATING BAGPIPES. Just...ugh.

Agree: Haunted Tomb (Lived Architecture, Hated Tank Minigame and going through the level normally sometimes is even a challenge) Spooky Swamp (The enemies can be quite annoying, the level can be pretty boring at parts and I DESPISE the escort Minigame; one of the reasons why I’ve completed Spyro 1 and 2 two to three times while Spyro 3 only once or twice. Semi-Agree: Wizard Peak (Hated some of supercharge stuff you have to pull off, it feels like half the level is fun and half the level is tedious) Lost Fleet (Minigames were annoying, but I loved exploring it; personally I think the goo thing is a plus) Terrace Village (I honestly am split on this one, it’s a love-hate relationship, y’know? I love the exploration but the design is bland at times) Disagree: Tree Tops (I agree some of the supercharge jumps are ridiculous but the stage has really grown on me) Sunny Beach (Yeah the story is wack but the gameplay is really fun in my opinion) Scorch (The Arabian theme really sold it for me, but I do hate some of the mini games *cough cough* Bombo *cough cough*) Seashell Shore (The seals craziness is a plus for me, mini games are pretty fun for me) Dry Canyon (Yeah, I’ll admit aesthetic ain’t anything special, but the level design here I think is one of the best with the branching paths you can take)

I don't agree with all of these, but I can appreciate the reasoning. Also I have a similar thing with Spyro 3. I think it's my favourite of the series; but it has soooo many things that annoy me haha.

I agree with you about the slides. I HATE those sections. Tree Tops is alright once you know what to do, and the Seals I couldn't agree more on that front. I hear that Agent 9 is going to be getting an aiming cross hair now so that should make some of his mini-games easier to deal with. I think my absolute least favorite level just because of the challenge is whichever level in Spyro 2 has that damn escort mission with the alchemist who accidentally seals Hunter's feet in stone. Not only because the mission itself is annoying but the fact that if you leave and come back (say for example to get the Head bash move) you have to do it ALL OVER AGAIN!!!

Dry Canyon also has a dragon in it that I couldn’t find without a guide.

Wizard Peak is one I 100% completed only once, I love the design of Tree Tops but I've never been able to get all the crystals on that level, when I was a kid I found a way to beat Sunny Villa in Spyro 3 without killing the giant chicken but I've never been able to figure out how I did it and I hate it, I hated sea shell shore too, the Dr. Shemp level is hard from all the running guys

Fracture Hills- Kill me now

Misty Bog annoyed me purely for very aggressive foes, and a lack of butterflies. Magma Cone just was aesthetically unappealing, the colour scheme and the damn vocals in the background music, which sounded like someone being sick. But Frozen Altars takes the piss, with poor mini games, and how they insist on taking away your fire breath for a mechanic that is more irritating than enjoyable.

While I love Lost Fleet, I have to completely agree on Terrance Village being my least favorite. It seems like those ugly creatures zap you out of nowhere in that hideous area. Not to mention how dark and gloomy the world is. I believe the entire Beast Makers home world and its levels (minus the flight level which will always be terrible IMO) have improved in the Reignited Trilogy Thank God!

Owww :( I do love Seashell Shore and Wizard Peak, they're some of my favourites, but i totally understand your frustrations. Happens to me with Sunny Beach, Breeze Harbor and yes, also Scorch, those worlds were just plain boring for me, except the music. Sunny Beach track is probably one of the best of Copeland, it could easily be a pop song. I feel the same about Lost Fleet, it's a world drowned in acid despair, I just want it erased. Beast Makers' worlds are, personally, the most boring, aside from Tree Tops which was intimidating in a good way, I think, a true nightmare in-between realms, highly sinister. Terrace Village is also my absolute least favourite realm of the whole trilogy, I think electricity doesn't get along with the mythic of dragons and medieval/natural landscapes, makes those scenarios too flat and feels more like homework than an adventure. The "meh" design of Dry Canyon XD! nailed it!

😩😩😩 oh my god I actually completed Spyro 1 (reignited) yesterday and on Wizard Peak - that makes so much sense now how to get that gem up there!! I made it so difficult for myself and used the supercharge up and around to jump up to it. Took me atleast 35 minutes as i kept overshooting it or not jumping high enough 😂🙄 feel like an idiot but still got it in the end 👌🏼😂 x

Wizard Peak and the missing gem.. my reignited game wizards literally made 1 gem disappear and not until I restarted it it magically appeared again :l Too much magic.

Well, this was something i couldnt predict. First i have to admit i agree with you regarding Beast Makers, it's just such an ugly realm all around and has my least favourite realms in the game. Though i would put Misty Bog over Terrace Village as the worst realm in there, but i still agree with all of your points regarding that place. It's funny how you put Wizard Peak in there though because that's my favourite realm in Spyro 1, and probably the entire trilogy. I know i had the same problem as you did regarding the secret area, but the atmosphere, the music, it's what dreams are made of. Magic Crafters is the opposite of Beast Makers for me, the most memorable homeworld in the trilogy, filled with so much goodness. That doesn't mean i don't agree with you regarding Wizard Peak. Also i think you were playing fair on not including the boss levels from the first game into the mix. A lot of them aren't that good to begin with (though Toasty's theme tune is best in the trilogy imo) and Blowhard probably stinks up the most. The thing about Spyro 3 is that while i don't have as many fond memories of it as other two games, but that also means i don't hate too many of the levels. The level i would hate the most in that game would be Super Bonus Round because of wasted potential, easiest final boss in the universe and yeti racing, but i am not sure if that counts. I notice a slight lack of Spyro 2 levels on this list, like Spyro 1 in the best levels list. Obviously i am not complaining because it's my fave in the trilogy, but i've played it so much to the point of complete exhaustion i can say that it's easier for me to name more sucky levels, with Magma Cone, Robotica Farms and Hurricos, none of which you brought up. Sunny Beach comes right after those though so we agreed on that one. Overall though, our stance on the levels of the games are very similar, the worst ones aren't objectively bad, but rather leave a lot more to be desired or have just formed to become bothersome in constant replays.

Don’t worry, I understand clearly cause I was the same way but after search dragon personality based on home world & looking at Reignited gameplay I have much love for the home world(it went from my 5th favorite to second favorite: Artisans-Beast Makers-Magic Crafters-Peace Keepers-Dream Weavers; Dream Weavers became my least favorite due to all gliding, the clock fools, just the fools in general I want to destroy so bad it’s unbelievable)

funnily enough a lot of these levels are some of my favorites, haunted tombs is in my top 10 and tree tops is my all time favorite. scorch i like a lot too funnily enough

Spyro 1 is Tree Tops for me. I love the look, but I always get myself killed a lot doing the supercharge ramps, either trying to remember the pattern to get to the farther platforms, or just missing the edge of the platform just barely. Spyro 2 is Fracture Hills because of one man: THE BLOODY ALCHEMIST. That mission drove me nuts. Also Robotica Farms. I just never was very fond of the level for some reason. Spyro 3 was Lost Fleet. The ideas was cool, I just don’t like the aesthetic of the level.

I personally don’t hate much of the levels in the series. Misty Bog from Spyro 1 and Dino Mines from Spyro 3 are the ones I really can’t stand, mostly because it feels like it was designed to not avoid being hit. The enemy placement of attack frogs, gnorcs, and dinosaurs is atrocious.

One of my least a favourite and frustrating relms is hurricos mostly due to the mission where u have to fix machine and beat the gear grinder thifs and gliding mission the other is fracture hills due to the escort mission
