Tories concede local election results have been 'difficult'

Work and Pensions Secretary Mel Stride spoke to Sky's Sophy Ridge about the local election results.
He said whilst the results have been 'difficult', Conservatives are now looking ahead to the general election as that is what's 'really going to matter'.

@@Fordnan It would be preferable. We need an absolute monarchy without this fake democracy. In a monarchy the monarch has to keep the people happy in order to retain power due to the long period of time they're in power. Democracies/republics etc just replace the figurehead every now and then and continue their corruption without any negative repercussions since the people calm down when each figurehead is replaced.

Inflation will come down to 2% next month due to the reduction in energy bills! Rwanda bill passed meaning flights will be taking off soon (June/July), 2.5% of GDP to defence by 2030 (vital announcement for the security of the country), Smoking and vapes bill passed 2nd reading. Economy grew in Jan/Feb/March of 2024. Windsor Framework led to power sharing back in Stormont. NHS waiting list has been coming down now for 5 months in a row. Things are turning for the better. Keep going Rishi, ignore the naysayers.
